    Haaayee-yayee-yay-yay-yay!

I said "hey! what's goin' on?"

Hi there. I'm new here, and I've been roleplaying for about 6 years. =D I hope I have the attention span to keep up with this community, but this place looks at least a little bit better than "Gaia Online." =\

I suppose you can call me Zach, and like a few other newbies here, I love to write. But also to play video games and watch movies -- I like having a wide range of inspirations to take from. =] Um... what else... Oh, I have a current-and-forever adoration for LucasArts Adventure Games. I'd love to talk with anyone who's a fan of Monkey Island, Sam & Max, Grim Fandango, or Day of the Tentacle! I love animation (I swear, 1940s Looney Toons shorts are the best), and TV shows like Gravity Falls and Twin Peaks. I also have a weird fixation on nostalgia and the early-mid 20th century. That's about all I really care to talk about right now. I'm no stranger to roleplaying, so I'm sure I'll get the hang of things pretty easily around here. =]

By the way, my avatar is an animated gif. I don't know if that's allowed or anything -- if it's not just let me know and I'll replace it. =]

    ...And he prays!

Welcome to the Guild, Mister Quin! Or Zach, if you prefer.

If you happen to have any questions about the forum or need some help getting around, feel free to ask me or one of the other Comrades. We're the users with italicised usernames, and we'd be happy to lend a hand if you need it.

If you're looking to get started nice and quickly, I'd recommend starting with the Guild's Guide. It should answer most of your questions.

If the website let you upload that then it's obviously allowed, eh?

Also, welcome. ^^ Have fun, make friends, blah blah blah. And of course this is better than Gaia. This place is fucking fantastic comparing to that kiddies shithole, where all the characters are emo kids with supernatural powers in an academy. This also a good place if you're really into the real writing.

Have fun! ^^ Expect me stealing your profile virginity soon enough. That's a rather common thing to do here.
All I ever lead to is chaos.

If, after we have recognized intuitively a number of simple truths, we wish to draw any inference from them, it is useful to run them over in a continuous and uninterrupted act of thought, to reflect upon their relations to one another, and to grasp together distinctly a number of these propositions so far as is possible at the same time. For this is a way of making our knowledge much more certain, and of greatly increasing the power of the mind.

We ought to give the whole of our attention to the most insignificant and most easily mastered facts, and remain a long time in contemplation of them until we are accustomed to behold the truth clearly and distinctly.

The Meditator reasons that he need only find some reason to doubt his present opinions in order to prompt him to seek sturdier foundations for his knowledge. Rather than doubt every one of his opinions individually, he reasons that he might cast them all into doubt if he can doubt the foundations and basic principles upon which his opinions are founded.

Oh my GAD do I pray!

    Thanks a bunch, Grif! =]

I know exactly what you mean, Raez. For a while I thought the "1x1" scene there was a good reason to stay, but... well, no. It wasn't -- isn't -- because it's plagued by pretentious pricks who wanna be the next Chuck Palahniuk because they thought Brad Pitt was cute in Fight Club. Quite a lot of group RPers like that, too. Anyway, I don't wanna sound bitter. Thanks for the welcome!

'Twasn't bitter at all. ^^ I love to do 1x1s here. A shitton of group roleplays seem to die easily from a lot of reasons. Either bad planning or people just dropping out without no warning or anything, or maybe unoriginal characters or too many characters to do nothing with. But that doesn't happen to all of them, don't get a bad view over this :P

So I prefer 1x1s because there's more seriousness going on between two people, and you rarely get to just drop out. At least, I know I feel bad to just never reply to a thread again. I've had 1x1s die like that. Dx Anyhow, I wish you good luck in finding a good team/partner ^^
