About signatures.

So there I am, reading a favorite web-comic of mine, when I stumble upon a certain picture that I happen to find as absolutely hilarious. I’ve had my current signature for a good while, so I figure I might as well change it to said picture. I go to the thread explaining signatures and how big they can be, and see that the space can be from 650px to 450px. No problem, seeing as that’s the exact size of the picture. Because everything is legal, I go to put the picture in my signature, when I spot my signature permissions. Everything is allowed, except for the HTML, images, and GIF’s. “Well, that’s strange.” I think, because I know other people can post these things in their signatures, so why can’t I?

Now, here’s something that’s probably relevant. I got a signature rule violation for adding a picture to my signature that was far too big, even though it looked reasonable to me. I believe it had a yellow bar over the top of it, and unbeknownst to me, that would make the picture bigger. Apparently to some people, the bar doesn’t even come up, meaning the picture can be seen in all its huge glory. One would assume that this is the cause to these restrictions. The violation has expired. Will I ever be able to post a picture in my signature again? I’m asking because I don’t wish to be penalized again for being ignorant, so please, can someone enlighten me on all this?

You should be able to post those images in, just use the [img][/img] brackets around the image location and it should be fine. The permissions are something else and have nothing to do with the infraction, expired or not. But also, keep in mind that the size limits are for TEXT and the image. If you need the image re sized there are lots of people around who would be happy to resize it for you, myself included.

Ah, thank you for this useful information. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t about to get into trouble for something that I wasn’t sure if I could do or not.
