Utopia - Interest Check

Welcome to Utopia, the Earth's last salvation against the insanity of humankind.

I've had this idea in my head for a while now, and after some helpful ideas from a couple members here, I'd like to try getting this RP up and running. Here's the plot so far, if anyone is interested, please head to the OOC to submit a CS.




The Plot:
The year is 2279 and earth has made many technological advancements. Life was great, or so most people though. There is one group of people however, who disagree. This society of extremists has deemed the most recent addition to the world, artificial intelligence, along with many other inventions to be an abomination and a threat to humanity itself. The extremist's decided to flee the 'dying' world and retreat to a man-made island in the middle of the pacific.

There, they created a society much resembling the middle ages, completely banning any electronics or machines. The only modern commodity they retained was a large supply of medicines and vaccinations to keep the inhabitants healthy. Those who choose to live in Utopia are made to embrace a more natural way of life, forgoing modern luxuries.

Anyone from the mainlands are welcome to come live in Utopia, if they can afford the trip there. The island is secluded from the rest of society, and surrounded by a reinforced dome both to keep out intruders and to keep people from leaving. Once a person enters the nation they are not allowed to leave, and minors or those born there are given a choice at their 18th birthday, leave or stay for the rest of their lives. Players would begin as either new arrivals or people who have lived in Utopia and have just made the coming of age choice to remain there.
