Thread: Kingdom Hearts - What if?

  1. #21
Ah, I thought about that, but I've never considered Squall or Cloud or Yuffie or the Disney characters "normal humans". At least, not on the same (low) level as townspeople and pre-Keyblade Sora, which is what I was thinking our characters would be. Bias on my part, I suppose. And, of course, I was looking forward to it, too. If Unlucky brings it back at some point, I'll make sure to have played the games much more recently. That wold probably help.
    I must not fear.
    Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
    I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing...

    Only I will remain.

Eh, well, she'd still consider them normal people. Stronger then your average mook for sure but they still just live on those worlds. They're not nobodies and haven't been chosen by the keyblade or anything, thinking in terms of the universe they are pretty well normal people, cuz its a universe where fantastic, larger than life stuff likely happens every day. Disregarding the kinda OOC information that they were in a final fantasy game or disney movie, they're pretty normal.

But at any rate its kinda a moot point to be arguing now anyway, heh. If this gets going again she better get a message about it!

x.x It's a paradox, much like most of the KH Universe. Without the outside games or movies existing, those characters wouldn't be in Kingdom Hearts anyway, but since they do exist, Square Enix can't make them weak, as that would undermine the weight of the characters and cause unfavorable comparisons (e.g. Why is Cloud a pushover in KH when he's such a powerful warrior in his own game?). Therefore, they had to make exceptions to their own rules, and present these characters as able to take out Heartless where most humans cannot... Basically, the Heartless are a huge threat because there are very few forces that can stop them, one of which being the Keyblades. If the average warrior could take them out no sweat, they would, and the things wouldn't be near as threatening.

*sigh* I should really shut up at this point, I guess...

Eh, the way she thinks about is, in comparison to the real world, FF people=Military People. Still normal people at the end of the day but they can/are trained to be able to do shit most other people couldn't manage. Random townsfolk=Average working guy and people discussing just what constitutes normal in a vidya game on a roleplay forum do ho ho And there are kinda a lot of people that strong in the universe what with the amount of final fantasy characters and such, they may be stronger then random shop keeper, but they still are normal people.

They dont have special weapons or powers like the keyblade, they use ordinary weapons and magic, magic being a common thing in the universe. So, her main point is being stronger doesn't make them special. Theoretically a character could get strong enough to hold their own against heartless if they really worked at it. She viewed the heartless as such a large threat not because they are hard to kill but because killing them with anything other then the keyblade means they will just come back, and anyone they kill only bolsters their ranks. So thus, even if they have a bunch of people to fight them, the heartless will eventually come out on top because they are essentially an endless horde without the keyblade.(considering the way darkness and light works in the world as well, the heartless could also be viewed as something of a force of nature or a natural disaster, you cant be rid of them entirely you can only push them back)

Aaand, she should probably shut up too, cuz shes rambling now. whoo being a dork who thinks way to much into these things!
