When Necras met the first Werewolf King there was a huge flash light which left Necras blind. Skip several thousand years and meet another werewolf king that Necras was adventuring with when they find an artifact that changes your personality. The werewolf king accidently hits Necras with it and he turns seriouser. Skip another thousand years to when Necras learns he is the warrior of Truth and is given the Glasses Of Truth which, ironically, hide the truth, making whoever wears them the opposite of who they truly are.
