This is the Advanced section. The basic rules of role-playing should already be known. I feel no need to reiterate them, but I will if I must.

I understand that real life must come first. So, I have a very lenient and understanding policy on absences and post delays. I require a post at least every five days unless you have a reason why it will take you longer to get a post in. Most answers will be satisfactory.

After the five day deadline, I will be making a post if not everyone has posted already. Anyone who misses the deadline will take a temporary penalty to all ability checks. After four times of increased checks, you'll get a warning, then after that, i'll have to remove you.

Posts must be at least 2 paragraphs in length. My requirement for a paragraph is 5-8 sentences.

This OoC thread is for the express purpose of discussing the role-play. Please do not post here unless you're post is on-topic.

Long ago, when the Elven homeland of Almasuna was still young, a terrible war ravaged the land. Two races, who would later be known as the High Elves and the Dark Elves, struggled for power over the new land. The High Elves, loyal to their gods, believed the land to be a gift from their higher beings. The Dark Elves worshiped their dragon and warrior gods; these barbaric beings, who had been on Almasuna since the beginning of time, believed that this land was their birthright and that the High Elves had no right to take it. Under a common enemy, the Dark Elves united.

They formed a large city and named it Viil, after their chief god. They tore up the land day after day. It seemed like nothing could stop them. But then, when all seemed lost, the High Elven gods gifted their kind with powerful weapons of war; Knights. five-hundred in all, each more powerful than the next. Not even the Dark Elves' strongest spear could pierce the armor of the knights. With these knights, the High Elves pushed the new Dark Elven empire to the brink of destruction. Then, during the great siege of Viil, the Dark Elves surrendered. The Knights, save for five most powerful of them, were destroyed. The five that survived only did because of the old Dark Elven king.

Believing he could use the power of the Knights for his army, he took them and hid them away in treasure vaults around Almasuna. There, for thousands of years, they've stayed hidden, protected by a secret cult of Dark Elves. But one day, one of the Knights went missing. This would set in motion a chain of events that would threaten the country of Almasuna, and maybe even the world.

The knights are huge fifteen feet constructs that are controlled by summoners who bind the knights to their soul and control them using special rods. There are currently only five original knights in existence, but High Elven scientists are working to create more. Below is a list of all the knights. As the story progresses, this section will be filled out with more information.

The Festival of the Dead is currently going on and the whole city is buzzing with activity. The Festival of the Dead is a five day event to celebrate those that have passed to the afterlife. In the festival, there are many booths that sell everything from potions to weapons and armor, to books and scrolls, and everything in between. Soldiers, mages, and martial artists put on demonstrations and food of all sorts is sold. The city itself is enormous and divided into six districts.

Upon entering the city through the main gate, you will find yourself in the Main Plaza. Luxurious hotels and high-end taverns are found here along with high class houses. There are three gates in the middle, left, and right of the plaza that take you to the Royal District, Elven Culture District, and Market District respectively.

The Palace District is the most lavish district in the city. It houses the Elven Palace of Kellesou, the highest seat of the High Elven government. The streets and walls are made of golden bricks and fiercely protected by the king's Praetorian Guard. The palace is closed off to the public. However, the garden and the huge hedge maze are open. The sewers beneath the city serve as the Prison District.

The Elven Culture District in Aelik is second in luxury and comfort. There are fantastic gardens around the district and taverns and hotels of all types. And as with the Plaza, there are high-class homes here too for the rich.

The Market District is home to the town's shops and lower-end taverns. All down the main street, there are shops selling weapons, armor, clothes, jewelery, spell books, and magical items. These streets branch off into middle-class homes and a tavern for traveling merchants. The real-estate office is at the end of the left street for those looking to buy or sell a home. The right gate in the Market District leads to the Waterfront District.

In the waterfront, there are a few poor homes and ships loading and unloading goods from other cities.

Finally, there is the Academy District. A few academies, each teaching something different are here. There is the Praetorian Academy, which trains potential members of the Praetorian Guard. The students train in swordfighting and marksmanship. There is the Black Mages Academy, who train in offensive magic. Finally, there is the Thief Academy, a secret school in an abandoned building. Very few people outside of the academy know it exists.

These districts form the city of Aelik. The population is mostly High and Dark Elven, but you will find a few of each race living full time in the city. The guards are very strict and constantly on high alert. They pride themselves in keeping the city relatively free of crime.

Personality: Wren is a quick witted and determined assassin. She takes charge when duty calls for it, but is also comfortable settling in as an enforcer when she joins with a group for any particular missions she may find herself on. She won't bat an eye at the spilling of blood- even to the point of enjoying the rush of a kill, however, anyone finding themselves holding the trust of this woman has found a fiercely loyal comrade.
Appearance: Slim, but curved, with a leanly muscled frame, she stands surprisingly small for an elf (yet advantageously for her profession) at a mere 5'3". Though usually braided back or coiled out of the way, her long coal black hair falls in waves to her waist. Shorter strands frame her face and highlight bright, but pale blue eyes.

Personality: Sweet and sincere, Sa'dia is kindhearted and warm... A woman of few words, she believes people listen best when you don't say anything at all. Though she is still learning her monastic ways, so she has moments where her temper flairs and she becomes distant and harsh.

Appearance: At 5'6, Sa'dia embodies the typical Darcsen, her skin is the color of coal, and her eyes are a dark, dull gray. Her long hair is likewise jet black, and flows gently in a loose braid to her hips.

History: She lived a common Darcsen life in the caves of her ancestors for the first 16 years of her life. On her 17th birthday, she ventured out, with her parents' blessings, and after a year of wandering, she was drawn to a monastery. She wasn't sure what drew her there, but after many months of meditation and time spent reflecting, Sa'dia learned some mystical arts, and how to battle without throwing a single punch, using her enemies' strength against them. She has since been journeying, attempting to attain a perfect balance of her emotions is real world scenarios.

Personality: Lidol is a very playful and cheerful person, but when she gets a job, she is all business. She likes to smoke tobacco from a long pipe, but she dislikes to drink alcohol. Once she takes on a job, she does not quit until it is fulfilled, even at the expense or grave injuries.

Appearance: Lidol has long silver hair which she ties into a ponytail. Her face is most often hidden behind a full-mask part from her red eyes. She is 5'6" tall and slim with almost no visible muscle, but she is not weak.

History: Born in the city of Aelik and then thrown out into the streets at the age of eight , Lidol had to quickly learn how to take care of herself. She started out small with petty crimes and shoplifting and noticed that she was good at it, only getting caught once in her lifetime. Around the age of fourteen, she noticed that she had magical powers and started to train them to help her in her criminal career. By this time, she had gained somewhat of a reputation in the thief's academy as a good, but young thief. She started to like the challenge of the heists and burglaries and prided herself for not getting caught, nor harming anyone if at all possible. She often leaved something behind as a small token, a few pebbles arranged as a heart.

Despite being a successful thief and high in demand, she does not use too much of her payment, preferring a simple lifestyle whilst keeping two thirds of the money locked away in different banks or hideouts, and one third at home. She does not carry a lot of money on her person, knowing all too well how easily it can be "lost". If she gets bored, she might just "loose" someones purse and buy food and things for it, but nothing too fancy.

Usually occupies herself with different kinds of magical art and researches of new spells and casting methods, but has a very special hobby known only to a few creatures in the world.
Appearance: 5'9'', silver hair cut in two length: the lower part reaches her thighs, the upper ends with her chin, changeable eye colour (from dark blue or dark green to steel-grey), fair skin, well-proportioned body reasonably trained.
