Also try "Mystic And Rider" it's the first book to it's series. Medieval-Fantasy.
I would say it's young adult reading-adult.
Dante's Inferno and Purgatorio.
The third book is also an incredible poem but I wouldn't suggest it as it's basically a few days of reading about how amazing and great Heaven is.

I only read Fantasy books but heres what I got:
Game of Thrones - if you can handle the adult content
The Death Gate Cycles - Not as bad as game of thrones but it has sugguestive themes at times but that is rare. It is a rather epic story
The Inheritence Cycle (Eragon)
Star Wars Extended Universe books mostly with Thrawn.
"You know, I think there are even more of them than last time?" "Although, it's really not much fun fighting the small fry." "Who cares? If I'm ordered to go out and attack, I'll do what I'm told." - Shani Andras/Orga Sabnak/Clotho Buer, Gundam SEED
Arrows of the Queen Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey. I know it's an old book, but they're fantastic, I HIGHLY recommend them.
