Antoine put down his hood, as he walked out of his office, aware that the day's job had been done. He wanted some sleep- and so went into his room, quickly coming in and shutting the door behind him. He put down his robes on a specific mount, and put a small dagger under his pillow, as he clambered into his bed, quickly falling asleep as he knew that things had become different. He had a responsibility, a care and a duty to make sure that Alekzander could learn the tools of the trade. Antoine had seen potential in him, but he knew there was a lot left to do. And he would have to make sure of it. He may be a good fighter, and a runner, but there was more to an assassin than that. There was the actual killing itself- and knowing how to get from point A, aware of your tactics, to point B, ready to execute both working alone, with no contacts, or an entire brotherhood that was ready to do whatever was needed to mask your actions. Whatever it was, Antoine knew that Assassins were a very special sort of creature indeed- and that he was an instrument of fate. He fell asleep, and quickly began dreaming, falling into a deep, deep sleep. Dreams meant nothing to him now. He didn't understand them, anyway. Because one of late rang through his head, something about some Bible teaching and a image of Adam, that Antoine thought he might be. He thought nothing of it- it was just some stupid dream that made no sense whatsoever, and he just felt like it was just something to do with the stresses and teachings of the Bible he had been reading through lately for just some enlightenment of his past.
(Subtle little placement of Antoine and his relation. Nothing that affects his character though, don't worry.)
The sky was clear and bright the following morning. The past few hours had let the Assassins rest after an evening of speculation and rumors, which now continued in to the late hours of the morning. By now, everyone was up and ready for the day, most, continuing their daily business, few of them actually on an assignment Unbeknownst to RaphaŽl, he was one of the few trusted members of the guild who would partake in a very important mission later in the day, and he was soon called upon by the Grandmaster to be told so. A young assassin entered the main hall, where the vast majority of the assassins were sat, dining on simple breakfast rations- despite the Assassins being quite wealthy in general, food was not their main problem, war was, and in times of war, rations would have to do.
The young man cleared his throat, and looking quite uncomfortable, raised his voice. "The Grandmaster would like to see the following-" he glanced down at a note he had in his grasp and read out the names. "Antoine Valois, RaphaŽl Lyon, AngŤle Rocher, Alastair MacCallum and Raska il ba Altair." He walked away, but before he left, he approached RaphaŽl. "The Grandmaster says you have some Prussian that he wants you to get to him, too." And with that, the apprentice left. "Typical Grandmaster, always gets kids to do his errands." RaphaŽl made his way to the sleeping chambers where he knocked on, then opened the door of Lukas' room. "Hey- get your stuff on and come to the Grandmaster's study." He threw the gear over to the side of the Prussian's bed, before leaving, the door ajar.
He was the first to enter the Grandmasters study. "Ah, RaphaŽl." the old man said, warmly, sitting on his chair, looking slightly fatigued. "Long night, 'master?" RaphaŽl asked, intrigued. "Seems so, my boy. Anyhow. We have work to attend to, a very important assignment. You will bring this Prussian along with you on this mission and see if he speaks the truth, see if he knows how to survive. If not, he will die, and the problem will be gone." RaphaŽl nodded, registering the information, but moving the conversation on. "What is it that we are doing?" The Grandmaster shook his head dismissively. "We shall wait for the others, I do not want to have to repeat myself."
As the moon was at it's highest and the city of Paris swarmed with thieves and beggars, Raska decided to leave la tomb. It was exactly this time of a day....or rather night when his local, the smoking corsar, was filled with shadey customers of all kind. While rich and poor, good and evil tend to melt into one loud and delirious mass inside his local, they all have the same habbit. All of them are flirting with his keeper, Salome. Yes she was beautiful and exotic, even a rare beauty in his country but Raska would never dream of touching her, even if he did. They both was transferred to Paris by the brotherhood. He, because the template would have killed him otherwise and Salome.... Well she just took the opertunity of following him. Salome was Raska's oldest childhood friend, while he was raised to be become a wealthy merchant or politican. She was raised to become a princess and so the puppet in the game of betrayal and politic which was played all over the world.
So as soon as she noticed that Raska she came with him and he was glad about it, he had too many enemies on his old motherland anyways, so why not making a whole Arabic monarchy in addition? Both of them setteld in Paris and the knowledge of Salome came quiet in handy to get a starting capital for both of them....yes she harvested some nasty secrets about some French folk. But as much they liked and yes loved eachother...both wouldn't allow themselves to start a love relationship with the other even if they had shared bed and mind and body.
Since their love and history bounded them so deep they were happy as it was bow. A normal French would think they are man and women both not really interrested in their partner anymore. For Raska is was good, since married mans seemed to be more attractive to women than unmarried and Salome was safe for 30%of all Paris males since they normally stay away from married women. So they both decided to stay to their act.
As Raska left la tomb through the canalisation exit he headed for the secret entrance which would connect his local with the underground system, a good thing since that also gives him a trustworthy smell as Raska jokes often about it. Climbing up a ladder and then you would find yourself inside the cellar of Raska's local....well not to mention a moveable wall which would disguise the entrance chamber from unwanted visitors.
The local was full as usual, not crowded but every seat was taken. The steamy air filled with every kind of aroma and scent, heavy and cloudy like it wanted you to embrace it. Salome greeted Raska and both exchanged kisses, like the normal Paris married couple. "Common Áava moi Áisk bresek?" He said as he hold her shoulders looking straight onto her hazel eyes. "Bien. Tu jour c'est trťs clame, moi petit Altair" She answered him with a flirtive wink. He aknowledged it and went directly to work, throwing out trouble makers or serving Turkish tea and coffe, also refreshing the tobaco or coals from the waterpipes.
It was a calm night, so the morning came with suprise as a small kid entered his local giving him a letter, it was a simple drawing of an eagle with a papyrus roll in his claws, a simple way to tell him to visit la tomb but it was rare, it meant the grandmaster personly wants to see him. Tasks leaded the little child to Salome, who directly smiled widely as he saw the exotic and beautiful women. Taking the more "official" way to la tomb it seems that he was already suspected. With a bow he greeted the grandmaster and anyone else in the room. "Bon jour mes amis. Tu ta bienne?"
