    PREMISE
The world is, at its very best fragile. Even in times of great splendor and peace one word spoken wrong could shatter the illusion. This is very much the case in the war of Kaell and Aemeria. Once a single kingdom when the twin sons of a king rivaled to gain a seat on the throne it ended in bloodshed and the supporters of one side fought vehemently against the other. To that effect the king split his kingdom unto two, giving the northern seat to his remaining son Kaell, and the southern seat to his youngest daughter, only twelve at the time, Aemeria. Kaell believing he was given the better land accepted it graciously as his kingdom was more developed, had strong cities and great monuments to its name already. Aemeria without choice took her southern lands. Centuries have passed since then and the countries in turn were named after the prince and princess respectively. Kaell continued to enforce military might and fortitude over neighbors and was in an almost constant state of war. When finally the war machine began to break down due to a lack of resources the King Gaull sought aid from his northern allies. Aemeria denied them the right to mine their stone and saw their forests. This was the turning point in what would soon begin a war.

Now six years into the war the ill prepared Aemeria faces destruction at the hands of her superior foe. Within the first year King Gaull had captured the northern forests and milled them until nothing remained. His troops pushed forward like an unending plague and as the years passed he committed men in greater force to bring a swift end to the war. Unwilling to surrender to a tyrant Aemeria began a conscription amongst all of its fiefdoms, and this is where we befall our part of the story.

To the west along the borders of great forests are a cluster of hamlets with men and boys that work hard day and night, and mothers and wives who support them all throughout. Soldiers now march ready to steal away anyone that can hold a sword and send them to war.

    THE SAGA
This story does not revolve around the gallant heroes of war, but of the plight of men who ought not be committed to death being sent away to that exact fate. Men and boys along with anyone showing a degree of magical talent are being recruited and will over a period of three months be trained in swordplay, archery, warfare and taught to fight against the northern forces that push further into the kingdom every day.

I will update this with a synopses every so often to keep track of events.

    THE KINGDOM
In Aemeria there are a few things to be known. It is ruled by a king, but his name is never spoken, and prayers or references to him are instead diverted to the throne. This is exclusively because the man is extremely superstitious and does not want his name to be known so that he can be cursed. It is out of a great fear of mages that he's become like this and it is mirrored by his people as well. Perhaps because of its might and rarity magic is distrustful and practitioners often fear for their abilities, but it is in no way illegal under the law of the Throne.

Currency is divided among two counts. One for foreign trade and one for domestic. Taking Lus, from the old tongue meaning money, or currency, three coins are minted. For domestic trade Pelus and Felus, while for foreign trade only Aglus are used. One Pelus is worth twelve Felus and can buy on average a loaf of bread. A Felus by comparison would be used to pay for a thatching of a roof, or shoeing a horse. Aglus are used in bulk trade and so are worth sixteen Felus, or roughly two hundred Pelus. Any other trading that does not meet the requirements of these values is traditionally bartered for.

    12 Pelus = 1 Felus
    16 Felus = 1 Aglus
    200 Pelus = 1 Aglus

Aemeria was a wealthy kingdom, but much of her wealth has gone to the war. Remnants of it still exist though in strong architecture and great castles and keeps that dominate the terraces of the greater cities. Among the smaller hamlets there is often a place of worship, a church or otherwise, central to a group of separate hamlets. Many different religions exist and all are practiced freely. Outside of this there is little else of Aemeria that isn't similar to a medieval Britain or France.

    CHARACTER SHEET
As far as this goes, I'd like to update it now and then as I intend for the character to grow in all aspects. To begin with though I want a character sheet of your character after having just received a letter of conscription, or having decided to volunteer. If neither of these fit your character, that is they're a veteran or haven't enlisted yet you'll just have to fill in the equipment field. Note though if you want to play a veteran we'll have to go over your back story.

    Code:
    Name:
Age: 16 is the minimum age
    Sex:
    Species: Human
    Profession:

Appearance - If you put an image please spoiler it. I'd still like a written description though.

Biography - Quality over quantity here, but give us a feel for your character. Why they act the way they do and what's changed their life.

    Equipment

    Main Armament:
    Secondary Armament:
    Armor:
    Supplies:
    Other:

As new conscripts or volunteers you are given the following equipment. Note that you can gain different equipment as the roleplay progresses and potentially from the start depending on interactions.

    Code:
Main Armament: An iron shortsword measuring just under two feet in length with a crucifix pommel.
Secondary Armament: A light wooden shield to be held in the off hand.
Armor: A quilted leather vest studded with iron to give limited protection, as well as leather bracers, boots and gloves.
Supplies: All recruits are given four days rations, two days water in wineskins, and supple bandages as well as a tent and bedroll all packed into a ruck weighing just over twenty pounds.
Other: All recruits are given a short bow and a bushel of ten arrows to hunt for food.

    Characters so far accepted

As stated I'm interested in being a veteran. Would you like to speak over PM or would skype/steam be easier for you?

I'll also be an old man. Hmm. Lemme get t' work.

    -~-~-~-~-~-

    Name:
    Rohan McKell

    Age:
    Thirty-seven.

    Sex:
    Male

    Species:
    Human.

    Profession:
    Farmer.

    Appearance
    Spoiler

Being almost to his fourties, Rohan is pretty old by standards back then. It'd be a miracle if he reached his fifties. His hair is starting to grey out on the ends of his shaggy dark brown hair. His eyes don't have the same spark maroon spark that they used to have. His joints are starting to hurt a little in the mornings, and he isn't as young as he used to be. Sure he used to be the adventuring sport when he was young, but he's not that anymore. Nowadays he's just old. Doesn't mean he still can't beat a youngins' ass. His eyes are sunken in a little and his cheekbones are a little hollow, but thats' from harsh years when the crops didn't grow in as well as they should have, he knows what its like to be hungry, and its made him tougher.

    Biography
Back in the days, Rohan used to be all tough and thought he was an adventurer. His father was a farmer as was his grandfather, and he was destined to be one too, much to his dislike. In his early years, he signed up to a mercenary group. They gave him armor and weapons and training. But they didn't train him for bloodshed. The first battle he got into was bad. They were tasked with raiding a small village that didn't cough up the taxes. Rohan wasn't much more than a boy at 18, barely into his manhood, and it changed him a little. He couldn't just quit, so he stayed with them. He kept seeing worse and worse things and eventually he ran away. They didn't catch him.

He came back to a pissed of father, but eventually got things settled. He doesn't want to go back to bloodshed, but he does what he has to. So, he was conscripted and heads back to war, leaving his farm behind. He gathered up his old war equipment and joined the others.

    Equipment

    Main Armament:
A billed pike measuring a couple meters.
    Secondary Armament:
A hand-and-a-half sword and a round wooden shield with a metal ring.
    Armor:
A mail coif along with an arming cap and a steel helm to protect his skull. He also wears a Haubergeon with a set of spaulders covering his arms with vambrace and leather gloves. Wears chausses and boots for his legs.
Supplies: The four days rations, two days water in wineskins, and supple bandages as well as a tent and bedroll all packed into a ruck weighing just over twenty pounds that were given to him.
    Other:
A short bow and arrows for hunting.
