I've got about 8 locations marked out with Beacons because they're perfect terrain to build something from. But yours has given me the idea of doing a "mages towers" area that extends both above and below ground.
No problem. A column of stone bricks with stone brick stairs just below the top level of a building spaced at even intervals also enhances outer walls I've found out. Takes away that bland boring texture of nothing but simple walls.
The structure I posted is far from a finished product. It's a ring inside a square, inside two more rings, the outer two being divided into 8 sections like Midgar of FF7. I intend to make the eight sections into Manor districts, and have yet another square on the outside for the peasant quarters, markets, etc.
