Name: Ophelia Azikiwe
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Faction: Hero
Race: Human
Appearance: Thin, jet black hair in loose waves that reach her lower-mid back, eyes so large, and such a dark brown that they look almost black, dark cherry lips, and an extremely dark skin complexion are her defining features. You’d never lose her in a crowd. Ophelia will always have some sort of large gold jewellery on her – cuffs, braces, anklets, necklaces, etc; - since they go best with her skin tone. (See why I can’t find an anime picture of this?) To everyone else, she’ll either come across as intimidating – or just plain weird.
Bio:
Ophelia is well aware of her ancestors. They had started out being descendants of the mage – however, through the many generations, the power of being able to manipulate the majority of the elements was lost. Eventually, the magic that they could still use narrowed down to earth elements, then to metal elements, and finally down to a small selection of precious metals. As far as she knows, Ophelia’s particular set out of the mages was the only one to become specialised in such an odd attribute. She was well aware that her particular family tree was looked down upon and ostracised, because of their odd, outlandish appearances and fighting styles in comparison to the rest of the pale-faced angelic looking heroes.
Her old place used to be an area which was like a reserve, where many heroes’ descendants had grouped together, all for the common purpose of locating and destroying the Demon Lord. This place was filled with the descendants of heroes – and in that place, that’s where the rumours started. It went round like a disease - stories floated around that she was a witch doctor, voodoo practitioner, and even in league with the demon lord himself.
Her family moved out pretty soon, and cut contact with every single descendant that they knew. Ophelia soon learnt that ordinary humans were a lot less discriminatory, especially since no one knew her background. Eventually, she regained the confidence to do the little things in life she always wanted – and now, she’s an avid captain and player of the school’s dodge ball team. In her free time after school, she can often be found in the ball courts practising, either with her team or alone.
Personality: Weird. She seems to laugh a lot, and to creep people out a lot. She tends to talk in a voice which, admittedly, does sound a bit like a witch doctor’s. Ophelia loves to know people’s secrets, and loves to know everything she can about the complex nature of humanity in general.
Her exterior is friendly towards everyone. Well, her version of friendly – which is up to all sorts of interpretation. Heroes, Humans, and Subordinates she will treat exactly the same. And deep down, she has the same amount of distrust for all of them. Ophelia doesn’t expect much from people, and automatically assumes the worst in each person, and the worst case scenario in every situation. She’ll even hesitate to tell another hero of her identity, in fear that a repeat of the same scenario happening all over again that was in her old home.
Skills/Abilities:
Physical
Speed, Stamina and Strength are all those of a normal human.
However, Agility and Flexibility is something that’s almost god-like. Which is useful, since Ophelia can’t block a hit to save her life… literally.
Mental
Ophelia can spot any sort of mind manipulating skill from a mile off, and has close to a natural immunity to them. Wasn’t nicknamed a voodoo practitioner for nothing…
She also has an innate ability to spot when a subordinate is lying. Doesn’t work on normal humans or other heroes.
Magical skills:
Hand of Gold:
Summons a shadowy appendage, which is normally invisible to a normal human’s eye, and can sprout from anywhere in Ophelia’s body. They have an increased amount of size, strength and reach in comparison to human hands, and are able to damage and move physical objects. And they’re all a lovely bright gold in colour. Although great for attacking purposes, they can’t be used to block anything. The number and strength of gold hands Ophelia can summon are directly proportional to the total number of carats of gold she is in contact with at the time. The same effect works with silver and bronze, even better with platinum; but gold just looks pretty.
Liquid Gold:
Converts any of the gold hands into pure liquid, and fire them at a target. The liquid hand comes in contact with a solid object, it solidifies and creates a cast. This cast is visible to humans. Although the poor quality of that gold makes it very brittle and relatively easy to shatter, it’s almost three times as heavy. If this hits someone’s arms of legs, it would definitely hinder them a fair bit.
The gold fades away after two hours, or once it is broken.
