Digimon: The Parallel Visage

For years, the Digital World was a place of relative peace - there were conflicts, to be sure, but with Yggdrasil maintaining order and the four Sovereigns watching over the digimon, there was never anything that truly threatened their existence. Even in times when digidestined were summoned by any of the five, there was never genuine fear that all would be lost.

Six months ago, the Digital World learned fear for the very first time.

The Sovereigns vanished. Digimon reported the presence of powerful Megas forcibly taking over their territories, quarreling with each other and the digimon of their lands. It got worse as, without the presence of its Sovereign, each land lost its element and contact with the Server Tree. Yggdrasil could no longer stand by. He organized twelve of his Royal Knights into four teams and sent them to try to restore order, unaware of how vastly each land had changed.

Not long after the Royal Knights left, the being responsible arrived at the Server Tree - Necrowisemon, a former friend of the Sovereigns banished from the Digital World by the four ages ago. He bore a core from each of the Sovereigns. He severed Yggdrasil's link from the Tree and prepared to fight when the last Knight, Sleipmon (as Quilinmon) saved Yggdrasil from his clutches.

The Sovereigns are gone.

The Knights are scattered.

Yggdrasil has gone into hiding.

And the psychotic Necrowisemon now has no one left to stop him.

Welcome to the Digital World.

And this is about where the the digidestined come in, having received their digivices and knocked out during the trip. Your mission: free the Sovereigns. Destroy Necrowisemon. Save the Digital World. Become legends.

Rules
1) A sheet must be approved to join the rp. Any posts from unapproved rpers will be ignored.
2) No metagaming or powerplaying. Godmodding will also earn a strike unless the other player(s) have agreed to it.
3) Plotting is encouraged. However, while I will do everything in my power to make this an enjoyable experience for everyone and let everyone do what they want, some things may not be possible. If I say no, it means it just can't happen, sorry. Related note, you guys will mostly be in charge of the pacing as a result.
4) Please use good grammar and spelling.
5) If you can no longer rp, let me know.
6) There is no set post length requirement - however, if there is nothing to respond to, I will advise you to edit the post. Also, keep posts in the third person.
7) Rules may be revised, though there will be warning.
8) Please try to stick around for more than a few weeks. I really want at least one rp here that reaches its end.

A few notes:

• Each tamer is partnered with a Sovereign. The Sovereigns are all currently trapped. As such, you do not start the rp with a formal digimon partner. Instead, you will need to form a bond with a wild digimon.
• A bond can be best described as a flow of power from a human to a digimon. Both the human and digimon need to agree to the bond for it to form.
• Without a digivice, a human can only healthily form a bond with one digimon, including their partner. With a digivice, a human can form up to three bonds. Digivice details here.
• With a bond, a wild digimon can reach up to the Ultimate level. A partner can reach up to Mega.
• A powerful bond plus a need for strength can trigger a permanent digivolution - that is, even if the human passes out, the digimon will stay digivolved.
• To reach higher levels, a stronger bond is necessary.
• It is ideal to befriend a digimon - though a bond may not be able to be established right away, it does set the foundations for a bond.
• Digivolution needs to be initiated by the human, but a digimon can refuse to digivolve. Digivolution can be physically tiring - digivolving two or more digimon without a digivice can cause the human to pass out and end all digivolutions.

Items can be located in various places in the Digital World, though are mostly found in digieggs. An item can be equipped to a digimon for various effect - an alternate digivolution, a new skill, there are many possibilities. However, no digimon can be equipped with more than two items at a time.

History: A former ally of the Sovereigns who kept records on their creations, he was banished shortly after their split for causing a multitude of problems for other digimon. Only about a year ago did he return, and six months later ascended into power through the use of the Parallel Visage, a mysterious mask with an unknown origin that greatly amplifies a digimon's current power level and grants new godlike abilities.
Personality: Utterly mad - he seems to only care about whether or not others can provide entertainment for him, he's quick to violence and anger, and anyone who doesn't amuse him isn't worth his time. He's even been accused of having no contact with reality whatsoever and having gone mad with power.

Originally, while he had trouble empathizing with others and would get upset if people didn't like his games, he would generally back down if he thought anyone would actually get hurt. He could be childish, preferring to play and refusing to be mature but showing a great understanding of the Digital World and deep attachment to those he called friends and to the world they made. His attitude caused a lot of friction with Fanglongmon.

Skills: Data manipulation, mirroring attacks, teleportation. Attacks include:

• Pandora Dialogue: Repeatedly preserves the opponent’s attacks within space-time, each time changing the attack slightly, then plays them back at high speed. The result is a corrupted version of the attack. Can only copy up to Ultimate Level without problems.
• Necrotic Shard: Produces a dart filled with corrupted data and shoots it at its foe. Power level can vary, but at best it can only nauseate a Mega temporarily.
• Voice of the Forest: By whistling a tune, can produce one of seven random effects: blindness, increased strength, decreased defensive powers, light healing, confusion, decreased strength, explosions
• Codebreaker: Able to overwrite code of a living unconscious digimon and reformat it into a different digimon.
• Breath of Creation: Creates digimon based on memories of them.
• Soburin no arashi - creates a massive thundercloud that rains molten metal onto the battlefield; alternatively, can form a massive elemental "bomb".

History: Clockmon hatched from a digiegg Necrowisemon lifted off another digimon. She thanked him profusely and offered to be his friend, which he happily accepted. Since then, he took care of her and she became the one constant in his life - and the first to warn Piximon and Marineangemon that he was losing his mind. She's since done her best to contain the damage to no success, aware of what he's done to the Sovereigns and Yggdrasil, though without any apparent clue as to his ultimate goal.
Personality: She wants to be an optimist like Marineangemon but feels she has no reason to. She will put the Digital World ahead of Necrowisemon and awaits the day that humans return to the Digital World so he can stopped at any cost. And if she meets the humans, she will be more than glad to assist them.

History: Piximon and Marineangemon are truly twins, having hatched from the same egg. The two grew up under Zhuqiaomon's rule in the south before Piximon's (then, Petitimamamon) wanderlust caused her to strike out on a journey to the Server Tree, just to see if it was possible to obtain a piece of its bark. Her brother followed after her. Unfortunately for them, the Digital World was large and they were small, and so they ended up getting lost and turned around. Struggles with bandits and small settlements soon caused each of them to begin digivolving. They had both reached Ultimate when they first met Necrowisemon, already in possession of the Parallel Visage, and Clockmon, then a very ill Solarmon. Lilymon managed to cure her, and Necrowisemon offered them protection. Soon after, however, it became clear that Necrowisemon was the worst threat they could face. Marineangemon chose to stay for some unknown loyalty to Necrowisemon, and Piximon stayed to protect her brother.
Personality: Piximon is a bit distant from people, preferring snark and schnauderfre to courtesy and kindness. She's a fierce fighter and is not against picking fights for amusement. In her mind, no matter what she does, she's always justified in her actions and the consequences are never her fault. She's looking out for her brother, though, and has interceded between Necrowisemon and Marineangemon more than once for his sake. She's fairly smart, which, in her mind, makes Necrowisemon's immaturity/god complex and Marineangemon's pacifism all the more irritating.
Marineangemon, on the other hand, is incredibly kind to everyone and seems incapable of picking a fight - though that's literal. Though he's the normal target of Necrowisemon's aggression, he seems insistent on staying by his side. He's not the brightest digimon in the crew, but has faith that, in the end, it will all work out for the best and that his friends and family will make it in the end.

Appearance:
History: Kotemon grew up as an apprentice in the Temple of the Phantasmal Water, shortly after Jumbogamemon rose to power. She knows nothing of what life was like before his reign. A few weeks ago, shortly after Yggdrasil's fall, Jumbogamemon selected her to be his next "Champion" and ordered she be trained for combat. The head of the temple, Arbormon, instead quietly sent her on a mission to leave the northern territory and not return until she found something that none of them had ever seen before.
Personality: While courteous and enthusiastic at the prospect of an adventure, Kotemon's eagerness is slightly offset by how equally enthusiastic she is about more sociopathic means of reaching her goals. She's quick to cheat in combat when possible and loves the opportunity to truly cut loose. Due to her age, she considers the Sovereigns to be little more than a collection of fairy tales from her training.

1)a) I think at least a short paragraph should suffice - it just needs to sufficiently explain what's formed the character's outlook and generally avoid vagueness. For instance, for a digimon, whether or not they were alive before the Sovereigns went missing, if they held any titles, any possible previous human interaction, and so on. A human, any past possible digimon interactions (with the caveat that no humans have been in the Digital World for the past six months), family, significant events, etc.
b) Nah, just know they're generally Royals Who Actually Do Something and could never meet at the Server Tree all at once.

2) As I said, I'll put sense before official lines here (since that line I listed IS an official one) so you can use Mihiramon if you want. Otherwise, Leormon > Leomon > Grapleomon > Baihumon?

History: Betamon lived a rather idle life, having hatched when Ebonwumon was still in charge of his homeland. He had his rude wake-up call when Ebonwumon later went missing and his homeland descended into chaos, with a different Digimon in charge. While he normally couldn't be bothered to care, the drastic shift of his homeland since Ebonwumon's disappearance forced him to flee and he wondered if there was a way out of the catastrophe.

Personality: Betamon can be described as laid-back at best and lazy at worst. Digimons often mistook his laziness as a proof of cowardice, but Betamon is more than willing to take on a challenge if anyone could talk him into doing it, a great effort in itself. Once he put his mind into something, however, he won't stop until he either succeeded or deleted trying. While he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, he can be pretty relentless in his effort.

Skills: Betamon could breathe and move on land and in water. All evolutions are also capable of breathing in water and on land, but moving on land is a different story.
