    Want to learn to fight.

Is there anybody willing to teach me the basics in melee fighting? I'd like it to be realistic, as once i've learned the basics I can then develop into a better roleplayer.

I'd really appreciate it if somebody could take the time, I adapt and learn quickly to new things, and I wouldn't call myself a bad roleplayer, just lacking in this department.

As I tell everyone who comes requesting learning to fight. You need to establish what you are looking for. One-two lines fighting with no actual stances and anime/bad action movie type of combat. Realistic T1 paragraphs length fights where stances and movements take part in establishing hits and defenses. Once you know what you want there are people who can teach you.
The writer who cares more about words than about characters, action, setting, and atmosphere is unlikely to create a vivid and continuous dream; he gets in his own way too much; in his poetic drunkenness, he can't tell the cart- and its cargo- from the horse.

glory before he dies: that lives on
after him, when he lifeless lies."

I can help you with Anime/Action movie style fights.

Anything else is up for grabs though.

Well, I would pretty much like the realistic T1 paragraph fights. It would really help me alot, I love fighting style roleplays but never get to particpate.

Alright well I am setting up training with another person who wants to shake off rust. I can help you. Do you know T1? If not it's posted somewhere in the FAQ of the arena or you can check them out in the tourney I am running in the ooc NoW. Realistic in text based fighting to be viable and exciting has rules and limits to how things are done. It requires detailed writing, not necessary technical but detailed to the extent that the moves make sense in both offensive and defensive actions. If you're good with those and read the T1 primer let me know.
