Harry Potter based interest check

So I'm getting this idea that there is another wizarding school (name and location undetermined), only this school sorts its students into houses based on area of study after 4 years of basic training. (i.e. Transfiguration House, Potions House, etc) What I am having trouble with is creating the "catch", the main plot, I guess you can say. I would like to avoid "Voldemort has returned / someone has followed in Voldemort's footsteps" story if possible, so I'm asking for some creative ideas here.

I like the general idea of the roleplay, but I'm not the biggest HP nerd out there, so the only thing I could think of would be something like: Muggles (I spell that right?) somehow or another, found out about the school, and are trying to attack/invade/destroy it? But that seems really far fetched.

well, i'd only be borrowing a few concepts from the HP universe. the story would be set way into the future, though how much forward we would go is still in speculation and totally open for story ideas.

Well, why not go for a social conflict? We could use the racism we could feel from the wizards towards every other magical creature, and say that maybe now the creatures are fighting back or something. Or maybe something more to the political edge; maybe people are loosing trust and respect for the Ministry of Magic for X reason, and some wizards are trying to make their own government, or maybe there are anarchist groups, or something of the like.
Hell, there are countless things we could use here!
