The War of The Gods (Sci-Fi x Fantasy)

The oldest legends of Erys hold that most of our Gods were once but mere mortals, like us. Once, long before our time, a great evil rose in the western lands. No one is truly sure what he was, but he was known by the name Calian, and he was not Human. The First Goddess, Elana, tried to fight him, but could only do so much in our world, for the majority of her power lie in her own dimension, Alrys. Alrys, so the story goes, is a paradise where the souls of the dead reside, along with Elana. So, unable to fight effectively against Calian, she chose a group of mighty mortal heroes on Erys to fight him, and gave them a small piece of her power. The heroes went on a long and arduous journey, which ended with the defeat of Calian, but as Elana knew, he could never truly be killed, for he would come back. So, Elana took Calian into Alrys, sealing him away forever. After this the heroes were greatly rewarded by Elana. She granted them the powers of Gods, and allowed them to rule over Alrys and Erys at her side. But even as Calian was sealed, not all was content, for one day, he escaped, using the aid of souls he had corrupted. He raised an army from those corrupted souls, and twisted a piece of Alrys, making a evil citadel. Now, as the story goes, Elana and the other Gods, along with the souls of dead warriors, fight Calian and his armies forever, locked in eternal war. They cannot lose, for if he were to reach the inner sanctum of the city that is at the center of Alrys, than he will be able to escape, and would be unleashed back into Erys... this is most most know the story, but there is more to it, lost unto time. According to the legend, once every thousand years Calian comes into Erys with but a fraction of his power. Unable to go fight them themselves, each God selects a champion, a regular Human, and empowers them, gifting them with powerful artifacts and the lost arts of magic...

Well, with that out of the way, greetings. I've been wanting to make this RP for a while and have finally decided I'm happy with it. The RP will take place in a science fiction setting (No space travel though) with fantasy-esque monsters and glitzed up medieval weapons. The entire population of the Erys (Mostly) live in a single giant mega-city. Think something kinda like Final Fantasy 13. The PCs, as implied in the opening blurb, will be heroes selected by the Gods to fight the embodiment of the demon Calian. At the start of the RP a revolution against the ruler of the Erys will begin, which will become connected to the main story.

So, that's all I have right now, any interest?

Seems interesting. I'm really big on these types of stories right now because I just finished playing Xenoblade Chronicles, and I'm looking into playing Final Fantasy VII.

There will definitely be a lot more info in the OOC, for everyone who is asking. If you have any specific questions, I am happy to answer them.

As Jordian mentioned Xenoblade above. I have to wonder, how similar will the setting be to it? As I loved the game and its setting and anything set in a similar atmosphere would be heaven to me.

I've never played Xenoblade, so I wouldn't really know, sorry.

That's fine, just your description of glitzed up medieval weapons reminded me of the game, and got me really excited. So I suppose there are similarities even though they were unintentional, which is great.

I'm hoping to pull in, like, 3 more people at most, but if not I'll have the OOC up by the 22nd.
