Jericho Concept. Interested? Anyone?
Okay, so I have this RP in another forum that hasn't really been getting much but, I figure people here like things that are actually plot driven more than "OMG I'M AN OTAKU!!!! I WANTZ DA ANIME!!"
So here's my idea. Basically take the premise of Firefly/Serenity and sprinkle on a little of the premise of Cowboy Bebop. So you have this Ship. Jericho Class (you'll see her in the OOC thread if I can get this started up). We call her the Bounty. She's a mid bulk transport and cargo ship and is involved with all kinds of crime and space piracy and illegal salvage. Basically, if someone has a job, then the crew will do it, and they don't much care what it is. There's a lot of adventure, a lot of crime, but mostly politics with a bit of action and romance tossed in. Now the romance comes in more than just "Duuuuuh my character adn your character should hook up huuur." It's actually multilayered. For example, I play the captain, whose wife is the doctor (and is going to be played by my girlfriend cause we've had this idea for the longest time and wanted to get like minded individuals on it) and he's in love with his ship as much as his wife and on some levels, even more so than with his wife and visa verse. And in a lot of ways (at least form my point of view, I can only control one player character cause I suck at multiple PC's and can't speak for any players other than myself) the captain has a love for his crew, and treats them like his family, and the ship is almost like the mistress and the wife is well...the wife. As far as the rest of the romance goes, Y'all can decide that for yourself 'cause like I said, I can't speak for you.
Now, on to the politics. Crime and piracy are never straight forward. There is always some level of politics involved. Some scavengers might step on the toes of another and a fight may ensue or something of the like. But, the idea is that every thing that anyone does has consequences. No avoiding it. The action will always be a direct result of what characters do and thus makes the level of action fluctuate. There could be a lot, there could be none at all. But there will ALWAYS be adventure because the crew doesn't really know what's going to happen next.
Now, Onto the 'verse. So we have planets and ships and things.
The Inner planets have all the top 1% people. You know rich cushy living and all the luxuries of three billion dollar estates and the like. These three planets orbit one sun at the center of our little area. Then, divided amongst three suns are the border planets. These planets are the middle class of the verse. They have cities, and suburbs, and farms and do relatively well for themselves but they aren't any inner planets. Next, we have the outer rim. These are the Frontier of the verse. mostly farm land and city slums. Very rough and tumble. They're divided amongst three suns further out from the Inner planets than the border planets.
So, how the Interstellar Alliance came about was, the top one percent wanted more money and people to work under them. Most of the outer rim and border folk said no, but a few had supported this claim. There was a big war and lots of explosions and here's what we have now. One great big interstellar alliance.

Rinn, it's more of a.....Firefly all over, type deal. Kind of throwing in the whole scifi mixed with steampunk manifest destiny in the west (which would be the outer rim) and then throwing in the scifi east (inner rim) and the blending of the two (border planets).
Okay :-) I plan on being a inner rim "negotiations specialist" that has rented a cabin on your ship if that's okay?

-strokes jaw in thought- I don't see why not but what if we do this. what if we pick you up? I figure it'd be a nice way to introduce your character. if not, we can go with you being on the ship form the start ^^
Sorta like The Preacher in the first episode? I'm down for that. Perhaps you can start the campaign like that? Landing on an inner rim planet?
