My name is Igor Ivankof, and it is a bitter cold day in Mother Russia. The snow is thick and heavy, and some of it has found it's way into my boots. The cold whips around me like sharp switches, scolding me for poor behavior or horrid posture, like my babushka would. She would switch me, then once I stopped my sniveling, she would begin supper and I was allowed to help her.

But the cold is not my babushka, and will not bring me any comfort. I stand here today, holding back shivers and groans of misery that the winds bring, while General Vladimir Bosovik inspects us. We are marching through Moscow to show our military's prowess and discipline.

General Bosovik is daft, though he is a strategic genius. He thinks that there will be a war after the war. Wouldn't that simply just be a longer war? He says that it will be different, splitting the world into two sides, us and them. I don't quite understand what he means, but I have to listen to him babble, as he is my commanding officer.

I am part of the Red Army, and I have been through harsh training just to march through Moscow. But, I cannot complain, for I have made fine friends, brothers. We fight as one, march as one, live as one. We fear nothing, run from nothing, and will stop at nothing. There are many of us.

General Bosovik has just informed us that we will be moved to another country in a few days time. I must remember to write to Mother, ask for protection, and keep my brothers safe.

Note: I am not supporting, nor opposing of Communism at all in this interest check. I am simply interested in the structure of military and government that were present in the USSR.

This will be about a group of men who are all part of the USSR Red Army, as well as a few enemy privates and soldiers. There will be several arcs, including those that the RPers set up for themselves. This RP will be interactions and reactions to battle. I'd like a group that will post on a fairly regular basis and who will remain committed to the roleplay. It will be mid-high casual, and will have some graphic gore and the like, as well as language, but will stay within RPG rules and regulations.

During/Before WWII, and hopefully we will make it to the Cold War, which is what General Bosovik is frightened of.

Interested, but I won't be able to participate due to my own RP.

I do, however, suggest you look into the organisation of the Red Army such as the Shock armies and Guards units, along with notable battles (Kursk, for instance)

Sehr gut. Depending on when this starts, you might want to include how hard the Red Army got their asses kicked by the Finnish during the Winter War, which was mostly due to The Great Purge, but, the point remains.

I'm assuming you'll either want to be in the centre or the south, because if you're in the north, chances are you'll be part of the Leningrad Blockade/Siege of Leningrad, when Army Group North severed the land connection with the rest of the Soviet Union in '41. You'll probably spend the majority of the RP there, before breaking out in '44, and pushing the Germans south along the Baltic. I doubt you'll do that, considering you'd probably not be part of any of the 'notable' battles, save Leningrad.
