Theme: Death

• Explained: A story where the main focus is death, in any fashion.

Components:

• The death in the story is metaphorical rather than literal.
• The entry is a poem or contains poetry.
• The protagonist is death, or death is otherwise personified in the story.
• The story involves life-after-death in some way (afterlife, resurrection, etc).
• The story involves immortality.

Rules of the Month For Casual:

• Components: 1 Required.
• Text Formatting: Allowed
• Word Minimum: 500 (Zero if Poem)
• Word Maximum: 1,500
• Grammar: Decent
• No Submissions Past: March 6th, 2013, 11:59 PM, PST
• The PM Title Must Be: WOTM #23 Entry: Casual
• In The PM: Your entry, a yes/no on receiving comments and a list of chosen components.
• PM Entries To: WOTM
• No Resubmits Allowed.
• No Mention Of Comments Assumes You Want Comments.

Rules of the Month For Advanced:

• Components: 2 Required.
• Text Formatting: Allowed
• Word Minimum: 1,000 (100 if Poem)
• Word Maximum: 3,500
• Grammar: Nearly Perfect
• No Submissions Past: March 6th, 2013, 11:59 PM PST
• The PM Title Must Be: WOTM #23 Entry: Advanced
• In The PM: Your entry, a yes/no on receiving comments and a list of chosen components.
• PM Entries To: WOTM
• No Resubmits Allowed.
• No Mention Of Comments Assumes You Want Comments.

It's strange. Originally I didn't have a whole lot of ideas for this theme. But now that it's actually up, all sorts of different ideas from all over the Idealism/Cynism spectrum are starting to run through my head .

I hope that the simple fact that I have lots of ideas implies that there will be lots of different stories too, rather than just several takes on the same story-type.

We aim to make components that result in a lot of different entries. We can only hope we succeeded!

I'm used to only gaining one idea and expand on that only one. Now I have... three. I have three different ideas this time. I've never had to pick one before. Alright, now lesse...

I've written one, but the idea I had for the component I used was a little difficult to keep under 1500 words. I've condensed it down, but worry it might be a miss on the theme now that certain aspects of it aren't as glaring as before.

I'm going to brainstorm and think of another story, probably using a different component, but if all else fails I've got this one as a fall-back.
