Axel gave Chris a big hug. "You're the greatest dude! I swear to god, I'll pay you back!" He quickly took Chris' card and ran inside. Even though Chris told him he could use the full four hundred from him, he didn't feel right about it. So he used two hundred from each account like he promised he would. When he came out of the store, he was already taking the COMP out of the box and began to strap it to his wrist as he looked so friggen happy trying to figure it out. Just like the advertisement, it was pure white as it seemed the only color he could honestly see looking good on him. Axel and Chris continued to wander around the shopping center for a while longer, though Axel didn't really buy anything more other then snack food. Most of the time he still kept fiddling with his new toy as he messed with it to personally customize it. Like changing the settings of the whole thing so it was in English for him.

"Man this thing is awesome! I bet this baby wouldn't come out in the states for a couple years." He continued to play with it even until they finally got back to the apartment and offloaded their luggage. As soon as the last suitcase came inside, Axel heard a musical tone playing out of the small speaker on the comp, indicating that he received a new email. "Huh... didn't think I'd get one so soon. Maybe someone from back home is wondering how we are."

After fiddling with the COMP for a while, you suddenly notice you've received a new email. When you look at it, it looks strange. It's not an ad or virus email, but it clearly was sent to a ton of people, mostly at random. In fact, even the subject line "Everyone Must Read This!" seemed suspect. The sender is just named "Steven", no other real explanation. However, you shrug it off as you remember that the COMP already has a top of the line virus protection on it. So you decided to open it.

"Humanity is currently in grave danger! Demons of legend from ages past have awakened from their long slumber, Soon, they will overrun the Earth! In order to compete with the demons and fight for our survival, we will need to utilize their power. Use this program correctly, and you should be able to! I pray that those with the courage to use it will accept it... To fight the demons that would destroy us, and to preserve humanity..."

When you finish reading the Doomsday-sounding email, you only just now notice that the mail was downloading something onto the COMP in the background! Worried, you think it's best to stop it. But nothing works!

    Downloading............ 25%...... 50%....... 75 %......

You received the Demon Summoning Program.

Axel had both a confused and worried look on his face. he had no idea what this new program is or what it does. He tried to figure out how to get rid of it, but there was no option to uninstall and the program didn't even appear on the list of removable programs! He gave a heavy sigh, just knowing he'll have to take it in to have it looked at by a techie to remove it for him. That would probably cost more money in the long run. In the meantime, he decided not to worry as it didn't seem to be hurting his computer any. In the meantime, he went right back to unpacking his luggage as he spoke up to Chris. "SO when exactly do we start school? I'm counting on you to help me around here dude, I only know how to speak the language, not actually live by it."

Minoru saw the girl walking towards him, putting a box down. the box looked the same as the one he just got, so he pulled his out. when the girl got closer, he asked "i didn't know this kind of thing was available yet. is it really for public use? how far out of the loop am i?" curious, he decided to try it out, pulling it out of the box and putting it on. booting it up, he looked at the various settings and wanted to have a little fun, so he set the display to a constant HUD style. he was just finishing setting it up when he got an email. curious as to who was emailing him, he checked his inbox. the subject made it look like a poorly worded Welcome message, but when he opened it up, it was odd. some kind of nutcase doomsday foreteller. reading the email over again, expecting some kind of joke, he didn't notice the software downloading until too late. for once, he was glad his brother taught him some computer skills, and ran a full diagnostic. it didn't register as dangerous, but the code was locked. he put up some anti-virus traps, and opened the program, curious.
hey, you. yeah you. you see that ninja over there raiding your fridge? yeah, the one that's waving at you with a sandwich in his hand. that's me. hi!

as she was working on her new COMP she suddenly got a strange message saying everyone must read this. she shrugged it off thinking it was the kids friend named steven. she spent some time adding in new programs and when she was dont she put it completely on "alright lets start this, but first let me reset my email to this thing and see if i missed any messages. since my computer broke im sure i have a lot now. most likely a lot of spam" she was about to change it when she saw the message again "Oh it wont hurt to read it." she opened it and read the following message:

"Humanity is currently in grave danger! Demons of legend from ages past have awakened from their long slumber, Soon, they will overrun the Earth! In order to compete with the demons and fight for our survival, we will need to utilize their power. Use this program correctly, and you should be able to! I pray that those with the courage to use it will accept it... To fight the demons that would destroy us, and to preserve humanity..."

"what is this some kind of rpg thing. well the kid did look like the type to do that kind o- hey wait a second!" she noticed it was downloading something onto her comp as she clicked cancel "I dont want that stuff on my comp. hey! why isn't it canceling? is this some kind of glitch?" she tried exiting out of the download but it did nothing again "Oh come on, fine ill delete it once its downloaded."

"You received the Demon Summoning Program."

"Oh ya this that kid is one of those nerds, what do they call them? otakus or something. anyway delete and say good bye... wait where is it? i can see it on my desktop but its not coming up on removable programs" she then went to the advanced apps part of the control panel as she finally found it but when she tried to remove it, it would cancel her action saying "This program can't be removed" she scratched her head and leaned back in her chair "Great I think i have a virus. its gonna cost as much as buying it to get it fixed, well its not harming anything yet. I'll isolate the program later. i need to get out of the house." with that omei got up and left to go get something to eat.
What can you do against the lunatic who is more intelligent than yourself, who gives your arguments a fair hearing and then simply persists in her own lunacy? Well I don't know since I'm that lunatic!

Chris sighed as he walked into his apartment, he was setting down all the snack food Axel had bought, he was somewhat frustrated by the fact that Axel was so into his computer. He immediately thought I'm guessing he is going to be so infatuated with his electronics to actually pay attention to me unless it's for help with something. He started putting stuff away in cabinets and what not. "Well... We start in two days. I think we are starting a bit late though... It will be fine... I have the same classes as you." He somewhat smirked. I made sure of that. He smirked as he was setting things up. "Don't worry... Most of the stuff here is in English, mom made accommodations to English. So I guess relax..." He sighed as he placed his luggage into his room. He felt like a made as he was putting everything where they needed to be.

After he was done putting things away, he took a fast shower. Once he stepped out he looked into the foggy mirror, it sloowly begun to clear up. He stared at his reflection for a while. "I look so non-asian. I Can see why I spent most of my life in America. I guess it's good to be home..." He sighed as he slowly got dressed. He was wearing a Kimono that was a hand me down to the first son of every descendant of the Shuzen family. It was mostly black, somewhat revealing because it was agape by the legs, in fact there was only a back drop upon reaching the waist, he wore black shorts under it. He looked tired, especially with the dark circles under his eyes. He stepped out of the steamy bathroom as he was brushing his hair, he'd put the dirty laundry in a hamper like anyone normally should.

Rather than telling Axel what dinner would be, he decided to sneak off to the Kitchen. Upon placing his mystery meal in the oven. He decided to go through his family albums. He saw his dad, Jensen Altrego. He was a Caucasian man who looked burly for a business man. He died last year in a homicide. Though Chris was upset, he was done grieving, he did live with his friend Axel during the course of it all, had a job, he lived fine. He saw his mom, She looked mostly mixed as well. But she was indeed Japanese. She wore a black dress in most of her pictures and either her hair in a ponytail or a tight bun. She had nice complexion, but these pictures were when she was 22. Now she was much older. Her eyes were almond for the most part, but had a nice tint to them. When the timer went off. He quickly pulled out a large Pizza, setting it on the counter in the kitchen.

The Pizza's surface was crisp and had a nice bubbly look about it. Almost too good, but it was in fact real. One side of it had a nice bit of pepperoni, the other half was just mozzarella cheese, the good kind. It had a nice pure look, as if it was descended from the stars itself! "dinner time!" Chris called, somewhat smiling at his beautiful accomplishment.
Every journey starts with a single step..

When Yamada put the box down, there was a beeping sound coming from it, she quickly tried to fiddle with it, opening some weird sort of email message. She was a little confused, seeing how she hadn't even put her email in the device yet, but with the boy approaching, she quickly just put it on and decided to leave the email open, figuring she can read it later. The boy seemed harmless enough, so she decided to just leave her bow and arrows in the stand in the field. She magaged a little smile as the boy talked to her. "I guess you can say that," she said with a chuckle. "I actually just got mine as a... Um, belated birthday gift." She looked at the boy for a moment longer, he seemed strangely familiar. She didn't think she had ever seen the boy before, maybe he was just a usual visitor to the shrine. "Hey, have we-" Yamada was interrupted by a beeping from her COMP. She decided to fiddle with it for a moment, since it seemed that the boy was having the same issue as she was. When she looked at the screen-projection-thingy, she saw a message that she was quite confused about. "'You received the Demon Summoning Program'?" she read aloud, wondering if the boy had received the same thing.

when Minoru opened the program, he got a black screen. none of his alarms tripped, so he closed the program. "it doesn't seem to be anything. it's not a virus, so i'm just gonna leave it be." then he looked up at her. "you got the same email? that's..." he was about to say weird, but then he recognized her. "um, excuse me, did you have a weird dream last night?" his mother had always taught him never to dismiss anything as coincidence, and to always look for the meaning behind it. everything was connected.

Yamada laughed nervously for a moment, thinking about the dream she had recently experienced that morning. There was no way in the world the two were related though, and as bad of parents as they were, in Yamada's opinion, there was no way that they would give their daughter something that could be potentially dangerous or anything like that. "You could say that," she said with a little smile, trying not to say too much. After all, this guy was still a stranger, though he seemed to be a bit younger than she was. "I blame the questionable leftover ramen gramps made me eat last night though." She waited a moment as she looked at the boy a bit longer. "Do you go to my school or something?" she asked the boy. There was just something all too familiar about him. "The name's Yamada. Yamada Umikaze. I'm a shrine maiden here." Yamada was ignoring the fact that she had her black T-shirt on with all the skulls on it, but hopefully this guy was a fan of irony.*

Minoru said "yes. yes, that must be it. sorry, it's been a bit of a weird day all together. though i find it odd that you assume i go to the same school. i'm 15, and you look about 17." then he jumped a bit. "wait, i can't be standing around here! i'm on my way to school. i'll have to come back later." then he hurried off, running for a couple of blocks before getting tired and slowing to a fast walk.

    A burger.

    One of her simple pleasures.

She ate the still hot burger slowly, relishing the taste of it in her mouth.

Nagao had taken most of what she could not use and sold it to... an unscrupulous individual, who gave her a good price for it. The strap on wrist device was kept though, for it looked, feels and taste expensive. Something like that was bound to be traced if it was sold just a few days after it was gone, so it would need time to cool down, to keep low until the police have all but forgotten about it.

The device beeped suddenly, causing her to fall off the couch in surprise.

Slurping up the bit of vegetable stuck on her mouth, and wiping the sauce away from her face, she set the half eaten burger down on the couch's armrest, and grabbed the device.

She looked intently as words ran across the screen, disappearing as more words replaced it. And then the beep sounded as the bar filled up. Now, silence.

Hamaki Nagao sat back on the couch with a smile, and looked upwards with that thoughtful look on her face. She gave a small laugh at the thought, at the words that had ran across the device's screen.

    She can't read.

    So....If I was a necromancer before...Is this an improvement?
My challenge to myself from now on. I will accompany every IC post with a picture I draw, regardless of how bad it is. I may not be able to put one up if the potato I call my broadband acts up however.

Axel perked his head upward as he heard this, giving a chuckle as he sat on a chair by the table. "Don't you mean lunch?" He carefully pulled out a slice as he brought it up to his mouth to eat, impressed slightly by the taste. "Hmm... not bad. Usually pizza you just pop in the oven isn't that good. You must've found a good brand." He then looked up and it was only now that Axel looked over at what Chris was wearing."So... what's with the dress?" While waiting for a responce, he looked for the remote to the TV nearby as he turned it on, showing that it was already on the news channel.

You come across today's early news or catch the front page article of today's paper, talking about how police are baffled by the recent murder that took place in Inogashira Park. Police are currently baffled as to who killed the young female student and why. What's notable however is the disturbing method of death as she was found completely dismembered and out in the middle of the park path for anyone to just stumble upon. It is too brutal to not have been planned, yet too spontaneous to not think it happened on the fly.

Axel couldn't help but let out a deep sigh. "Geezus... that's one sure fucked up way to go."
