Once Upon a Time...
Do you remember those fairy tales you read as a kid? Snow White, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel. Your parents read them to you at night, you laughed at them, found them exciting and thrilling. Now what if those fairy tales were real? What if those fairy tales were coming into our world? And what if, those fairy tales were different then you remembered, and each character had their own dark secrets, terrible powers, and unique personalities? And last of all, what if they were living in your very own world? In a small town called Storybrook, these fairy tale characters are very much real, and dealing with their own problems. The villains are still trying to cause trouble, and the heroes are still fighting back in this small little town. The question is, who will win? Will the villains finally prevail, or will old cliches prove true and good wins out? It's your choice.
Disclaimer: yes, this idea comes from the TV show "Once Upon a Time". i dont plan on following the plot line or characters in the show at all, i just thought it was a fun role play concept. Now for some actual explaining! The basic idea is that these fairy tale characters are all living in one, small town and simply trying to live. Every once and a while, a new character will suddenly pop into the town with no apparent reason, with memories of their past lives in the "fairy tale" world, and no memory of how they got there. You may pick any fairy tale character you want (unless their already taken) and put your own unique twist on them (ie Red Riding Hood being a werewolf). The basic idea of the role play is just to put a bunch of fairy tale character into a town and see what happens! I dunno if anyone will like the idea, I just thought it would be fun. Anyone else have any ideas for it?

I'm curious, it would be most interesting, does it have to be all fairytails from 'normality' or may we use fairytales from anywhere?
Well I'm kind of basing the range of characters off of the show. The show had the typical fairy tale characters ( aka Snow White, Prince Charming, Beauty and the beast...) along with several Disney characters, and even Doctor Frankenstien. So I guess it depends by what you mean by "from anywhere"

and 'from anywhere' basicaly means can I use say...a norse fairy tail? or the story of the solar wolf from the Inuit peoples? as in fariytails that preside the world over, not just american-english stuff that was done over by disney/pixar, while I agree some of it makes for very good rp, there is still very intresting things to ask one of them being; what would the 'beast' from the bueaty and the beast think or do when he comes across a seven foot wolf who's coat shines like the northern lights? another is what would happen if lets say.....merlin from the sword in the stone encountered the old alchemist from the tale of the golden king? or if all the kings men ran in to a bridge troll!? every fairytail, ever. it would give so much more LIFE to the story. it would give it feeling. and let people pull from the mythos of there own contry.
