    Pokemon Eternity {IC}

    Link To OOC

Region X, a region set off away from the rest of the world, where PokéPeople exist separate from the rest of the world. Led by the mysterious Arceus and the Creation Trio consisting of Giratina, Dialga, and Palkia; Region X lived peacefully for millenniums on their own, until a Civil War broke out, when the PokéPeople felt as though they were being oppressed by Arceus' rule, so a large group of PokéPeople marched to the Palace of Wonders, demanding a change in rule.
Thus, the Spirit Trio was founded. The Spirit Trio consisted of three Psychic-type PokéPeople. Azelf, the embodiment of Willpower; Mesprit, the embodiment of Emotion, and Uxie, the embodiment of Knowledge. When the Spirit Trio was created, a wave of calm spread over Region X, ending the chaotic Civil War, and bringing it back to it's era of peace. Grateful of the help of the Spirit Trio, Arceus had ordered the building of the Chambers of Eternity where the Spirit Trio - along with the 16 Plates of Arceus - would be housed for all time.
The Civil War was nearly a century ago, and as a result, the civillians of Region X have prospered. Now with the founding of the Spirit Trio - designed specifically to make sure that the region stays in balance - Region X has been never been more powerful.
It is now Present Time and there is a Crisis at hand...

    Prologue
The central chamber of the Palace of Wonders was quiet; more quiet than Arceus was used to, even though it was only a few hours before midnight. Arceus sat below a window, writing a message he planned to send to the Spirit Trio. Ever since he charged the three girls with guarding his Plates, he had been sending them weekly letters, making sure that they were all accounted for. He had felt guilty for the constant messages, but he had never not had his plates with him before.

Just then, soft footsteps sounded through the hall and the clicking of heels could be heard on the marble floor. Arceus looked behind him to see the lovely, violet-haired Palkia walking toward him, her dress flowing behind her as she walked. He gave her a small smile as she approached him at his desk, "Hey, Palkia. I didn't realize you were still up. Where're the others?"

She returned the smile then sat down next to him at the desk, "I'm up, still, yes. And Giratina and Dialga are sleeping, as far as I'm aware. What are you still doing up is the question." She clasped her small hands together resting them on the desk, "What are you writing?" she asked curiously, looking at the paper in front of Arceus.

He picked the paper up, setting it by the corner of the desk, "Oh, nothing. Just to Mesprit; checking on my Plates." He felt a little embarrassed: Giratina, Palkia, and Dialga had known very well that he sent weekly letters to the Spirit Trio, but he felt odd talking about it, as if it was something meaningless that shouldn't be done to begin with.

She nodded understandingly, "Of course. If you think you can finish it tonight, I will be free tomorrow and Dialga and I can go to the Chambers of Eternity to deliver it to them." She looked up at the shining full moon, "Full moon... Cresselia will be out tonight. It will be a good night for the PokéPeople." she stated assuredly.

Arceus nodded, noticing the moon as well. He picked up the letter again, creasing it in half he pulled an envelope from a drawer in his desk to put it in. He handed it to Palkia, "Here. You and Dialga can take this tomorrow for me?" He half-asked, half-told her. She nodded and smiled at him, putting it delicately in her pocket. "Good. Thank you. I'm going to retire." He stood up and Palkia followed him through the quiet marble halls to the end of the palace where the bedrooms were and they each went into their seperate rooms to sleep.

The next morning, Palkia and Dialga set off to the Chambers of Eternity to meet the Spirit Trio. The Chambers of Eternity - like the Palace of Wonder - was created on a levitating island above a lush valley in Region X. Since the seven of them all had the ability to Levitate, or in some cases Flight, it wasn't an issue to create floating palaces.

Dialga flew up to the entryway to the Chambers of Eternity, and he looked around, smiling at the beauty that Arceus had created, "Same as always... I'll never get tired of looking at this place." Palkia landed next to him and agreed. The two of them walked through the ominously barren foyer.

"Dialga... something doesn't feel right; where are the girls?" Palkia asked, moving closer to Dialga. He shrugged in response, suggesting that they may still be asleep. They continued walking, and upon reaching the heart of the Chambers, they stood frozen in shock.

The paintings that Arceus had put up of many different species of PokéPeople were ripped, torn down, stolen, or all of the above. The walls were burned, columns were on the ground, and draperies were shredded and on the ground. They looked at each other, mortified, and said in unison, "The girls." They each went separate ways, calling for Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf. After awhile of running and searching, they rejoined back in the central chamber, neither finding nothing. They both flew up quickly into the air to the Observatory where Arceus' plates were held.

    They had been stolen.

Palkia turned to face Dialga, worried she spoke, "Dialga... Arceus' plates are gone. Someone out there has some seriously powerful stuff and some powerful PokéPeople with them - the Spirit Trio! I... I didn't think it was possible to steal people. It's just... it's just immoral!"

Dialga nodded, putting a hand on Palkia's shoulder to calm her, "I know. Understand, Palkia, we will find them, do not worry. Right now, we need to get back to the Palace of Creation and let Arceus know what happened. Come on." He ushered her down from the Observatory and the left the Chambers of Eternity to meet Arceus at the Palace of Wonders...
Arceus paced the room, before him stood Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina; his three most trusted advisers. He stopped, turning to face them, "All of them are... gone?" He asked, timidly.

The sun shone brightly through the windows of the Palace of Wonders, reflecting onto the group warmly as they talked. Palkia was the first to speak, "Arceus, we understand that you are worried, but-" She was cut off before she could finish speaking; Arceus had interrupted her.

Arceus glared, a frightening look in his eye. He had obviously become engulfed by the rage of losing all sixteen of his Plates, and the Spirit Trio as well. He looked her in the eyes as he spoke, angrily, "No. Worried does not describe the amount of... of rage that I feel. Whoever did this... Whoever kidnapped the Spirit Trio will adhere to their crimes or face. My. Wrath." He turned away from them, walking to sit on his throne. He took a deep, shuddered, sigh as he looked at them again, the vengeful look in his eye had left and he looked calmer now, not as though he wanted to rip someone's head off - even though he probably did.

Giratina spoke this time, her long dress flowed as she moved closer to Arceus, "We will find the plates, do not worry. I'll summon for the others and we can rescue them and the Spirit Trio no problem." Arceus shook his head. If someone was this power hungry, this devious, and this cunning to kidnap the Spirit Trio, and to steal the 16 Plates of Arceus, then they needed someone different from the usual group he had summoned to handle situations like this.

Arceus stood up, walking out to stand on the terrace, and the three quickly followed behind him. The terrace at the Palace of Wonders overlooked the Empoleon Sea, and the sound of waves crashing against the shore was almost deafening. For a few, long moments Arceus stood, hands on the railing as he watched the waves crash against the rocky shore. Finally, he turned back to face the three behind him, "No... No we won't get the regular group, we will find different people - volunteers. Darkrai expressed greatly how against he was of having a Secret Service to carry out all the actions; and I agree, we need to allow the civilians to help. We are going to post a message in all of the towns; but first... I need Shaymin."

Dialga was baffled, "Shaymin? As in... Shae? Arceus, you do know that she remains secluded in her little paradisaical garden for the majority of the year for a reason, right? The girl is completely insane!" He looked to Palkia for support, but she merely shook her head and gave him a disapproving look. "Come on, Arceus," he continued to plead, "We can't... we can't put Shae in charge of something this big. Please, let us do it. Not... not her."

Giratina looked at Dialga, "She's not insane, Dialga. She's merely... a more unique thinker than everyone else. Besides, she's kind and sweet. She's never done anything wrong, and I don't see her doing such anytime soon." Giratina crossed her arms over her chest, giving Dialga one last, disapproving look before turning back to face the ocean. She walked to stand next to Arceus, "Don't worry," she soothed him, "Everything will turn out all right." Arceus merely nodded shortly.

Palkia spoke up, "I'll go to Shaymin." She turned and walked back through the palace to the main entrance before taking off for Viridian City, then to Shaymin's Garden to meet Shae.
    ~
Palkia arrived at Shaymin's Garden a day earlier than she expected. She warily walked through the delicate, maze-like forest to find the clearing where Shae resided. After hours of wandering and seeming to get nowhere, she finally stumbled into the clearing where the small cottage that Shae lived was at. Palkia knocked on the door softly, then when she didn't get an answer, worriedly opened the door, praying that they didn't take Shae too. Palkia let out a sigh of relief when she realized that Shae was merely sleeping on the sofa. Palkia walked up to her, "Shae... Shae wake up." she said softly to the young girl.

Abruptly, Shae got up quickly, putting up her hands in a defensive mode, then, realizing who it was, put her hands down and hugged Palkia tightly, "Palkia! Whatever are you doing here?" She released Palkia, then the two sat down so that Palkia could explain what was going on. Shae continued to frown throughout the recollection and when Palkia finished, she knew exactly what she was going to do, "Of course. I would be honored to lead this group to rescue the Spirit Trio! When do I start?"

"Now." Palkia said curtly, then two left, heading out the door, with Shae close behind her. Once they reached the palace, the five agreed that Shaymin would lead a group called "The Enlightenment Squad" - a group of volunteer PokéPeople who would work with Shae to find out who - or what - kidnapped the Spirit Trio and stole the 16 Plates of Arceus.

"This is the message that's going to be posted in every town, city, and port. I figured I should let you read it beforehand so you could get a head start..." Arceus said, handing a piece of parchment to Shae to read. She nodded, handing it back. She took a breath, switching to her Sky Forme, and she sprinted off the terrace, flying toward Eden Town...

*At the HQ of Team Magikarp in Revival Town* Admin Magi rushes into the main office of the large underground building"Miss Karpy!!! A paper from the leaders has been posted, I copied it for you" handing the paper to Karpy, she read over it unnamused."This is great news, we let the volunteers defeat our competitors, then we still the plates and hold them for ransom, we all know Arceus would do anything to get them back.. Quickly, get a air craft of any sort to take me to Eden town, we will follow whatever rag-tag group that assembles, after all the plates have been stolen, we capture and torture them for not being a Magikarp." at this Magi gulped, but did what he was told. within a few hours Karpy was in eden town waiting in the shadows in a some what dark alley by the designated meeting spot.

Flicker sits in her home, which is dark and filled with white candles, stirring a pot of soup. She gives it a taste. "Hmm...needs some more spice." When she turns to grab some cumin out of her spice rack, she finds it empty. "Dang it. Now I have to go out and get more." She says in a dreary manner, turning the stove off. Flicker gets up, and heads out of her home. She wasn't a fan of the bright, sea air of Revival City, but, then again, "bright" wasn't exactly her favorite adjective. As she heads to the store, one of the many notes on the wall catches her eye. Flicker pulls it off the wall, and gives it a good read. "Handsome reward? That sounds more than reasonable." Her yellow eyes light up at the mention of rewards, and she was kind of bored. Why not go on a little trip? After going home to put the soup away and get her purse, Flicker begins to make her way to the airport to board a flight to Eden Town.

It was a somewhat cold early morning in the small village that Sandy and Vail made their home currently. It was a village of little import to most, but it was a perfect place for the two of them currently. Not very large, but not small enough to be easily labeled as troublemakers either. Of course, they had just moved into town a week or two ago, so perhaps they just hadn't got a bad reputation yet. Either way, they had stayed here longer than they had stayed in most others, and were about to get up to their usual mischief.

"Ready?" Vail asked his friend with a grin. They were both standing in the alley between two houses, easily hidden from sight. "Hehe." She giggled. "As always!" Down the road opposite of them was a merchant carrying various goods and things in his cart on his way to sell them. Most of it consisted of food, which was their main target. Their plan was ingenious, well to them it was. Vail would do all the stealing, since he was a ghost type he would easily be able to get to the food without being seen while Sandy was the distraction. "Heh, this is going to be a piece of cake. Alright then, lets do this." Vail said getting into position.

As the cart approached the alley, Sandy quickly ran out in front of it, the oblivious vendor not being able to see her in no small part due to her smaller than normal stature. The vendor was quite surprised when the cart hit something with an audible thump, the sound of something falling, and a small yell. He sat down the cart with an annoyed expression and went to investigate. "Hey watch where yer going you little ruffian!" He said as he approached Sandy, who was laying face down on the ground. She lifted her head up and looked at her accuser with a what most would call a cute sniff and a pout. The vendor, a Shiftry seemed unimpressed with her display. "That little cute act of yer's aint gonna work against me, girl!" He said and picked her up by her cloak.

Meanwhile, Vail had made his way silently to the cart and began stuffing his pockets with food and anything he could get his hands on while the Shiftry was distracted.

At the Shiftry's harsh voice, the small Sandile PokePerson's eyes watered up. "I said that ain't gonna work, now where's yer parents at? A young one like you shouldn't be out here, let alone unattended so ye can mess with other people." Then she started to cry and flail about cutely, which seemed to have a bit of an effect on the older PokePerson. His face softened slightly and he sighed. "look here...how about a free Apple, just stop crying, alright? And be more careful." Without looking at the cart, he reached over and grabbed an apple and handed it to her. She cheered up somewhat, and used one of her hands to wipe away a tear from her face. Unfortunately that didn't last long when there was another crash, and the sound of produce falling out of the cart. The Shiftry eyes bulged out of his head as he turned around and saw Vail standing there with at least a fourth of his merchandise. The rest was now on the ground from him accidentally opening a panel on the cart. He gave a nervous chuckle and would have probably rubbed the back of his head with a hand if his arms hadn't been full with stolen property. "Wh-WHAT!" The Shiftry's face contorted into one of pure rage and turned back to the little Sandile who was still acting like nothing was the matter.

"You little!" He said and picked her up. She obviously didn't like that, and bit his hand harder than anything her size has a right to be able to. He gave a yowl of pain and dropped her onto the ground. Thankfully, she was ready for this and while he was still recoiling, quickly dug a hole and was gone in seconds. Meanwhile, Vail had picked up a few more items and flew off before the Shiftry could do anything but spout curses at them. However, their little display did attract the attention of a few others, but he managed to get away to the alley their planned meet up destination. He didn't have to wait long until Sandy showed up.

"What'd I say, easy." He chuckled and placed what produce he had left in a backpack they had hidden there the night before. He tossed Sandy an apple and she caught it with a mischievous grin. "Heh. I can't believe that Shiftry bought that...and that he thought I was like twelve or something." She laughed and took a bite out of the apple. It was understandable that he thought she was a lot younger than she looked, since she herself was quite small for her age.

Vail said nothing, instead his gaze landed on a piece of paper tacked onto the wall with interest. "Hey Sandy, look at this." He said and handed her a piece of paper. She read over it with mixed interest."Yeah? What of it?" She didn't seem too impressed by it.

"Arceus is asking for help." He said with scanning the paper over again. "Pfft. Why would the big man up there need any of our help?" She asked with an eye roll. "And there will be a reward." He said, causing the Sandile's eyes to light up and quickly snatch the paper from his hands and actually read it this time."Alright, we need to go to Eden town!" Her face went to an expression of confusion. "Eh...where is Eden from here exactly?" She asked.

"Not far I think." He said picking up the back pack full of stolen goods. "Might want to go ahead and leave, after that little stunt I'm sure we're not going to be welcome here much longer." Sandy gave a happy smile and a nod. They went back to their makeshift home and packed what little things they had before starting to make their way towards Eden.

About a mile outside of Eden Town, a small camp was set up at the edge of a small forest that overlooked the ocean. A circle of rocks was placed neatly at the center of the camp, ready to be stoked once there would be firewood thrown over it, however, that was the only thing missing…as well as the one who went to collect them out in the woods. Standing at the edge of the camp, a boy adorned in traditional tribal-like clothing, peered over the cliff’s edge at the ocean below. The large waves crashed loudly and the boy closed his eyes, except for the vertical third eye at his forehead, and took a step over the edge. As he fell, the wind ruffled the feathers from his clothing, but soon, the feathers flashed an array of warm colors—ranging from yellows, bright greens, orange, and red—spreading as if were wings, and a set of identically colored feathers sprouted from the side of his light green head as well.

Steadily, the boy’s decent slowed until he soon hovered in midair and then soared over the ocean’s waves. His flew close to the water’s surface, his center eye scanning the waters until he found a school of fish swimming close to the surface. Flinging out a heavily gloved hand to his side, it glowed violet and several fishes rose from the water, flailing helplessly in the air. Grinning at the amount he caught, the boy ascended in the air again with the fishes following after him as he made his way back to the cliff-side to the camp. Once both his feet were back on solid ground, his other two eyes opened and he sighed, the feathers along his clothing and head fading back into normal ornaments. He frowned, still finding the camp empty of his companion and placed the now suffocated fish on a flat piece of board he had cut from one of the trees earlier.

Where is Lios…I thought he should be back by now. The boy sighed in his thoughts. “Maybe he got caught up in some trouble…He is blind after all…” As the boy closed his eyes, ready to search for his companion, he suddenly felt the presence of Lios nearby. “Or not. I hope he actually has firewood this time.”

“Sigil!” A voice cried out at the far side of the camp and a boy with dark hair that covered his eyes, came running over to the Sigilyph PokePerson. “I’m back! And I found something while I was in town!”

Sigil blinked his wide, orange eyes in disbelief at the Deino PokePerson. “In town…what were you doing in town, Lios? I told you to get firewood in the forest.” Sigil scolded and slapped his hand over his face before running it down. He walked up to the excited boy and looked down at a piece of parchment in Lios’ hands. It was not firewood, but it was something at least, that they could burn. This means that I have to get the wood as well… he sighed.

“I…I know! But, the smells that were coming from town, they all smelled so good. I just couldn't ignore it! Why can’t we have food that they’re serving there?” Lios whined, sniffing the air for what Sigil had caught for their meal. “Fish? Again? I’m getting kind of sick of eating that…”

“Lios,” Sigil paused, shaking his head, “I don’t have enough money to buy food from town. You’re just going to have to accept what I can get, or you’ll go hungry.” Sigil then took the paper from Lios’ hands and opened it to read its contents. He looked over it uninterested at first, while Lios went over to poke at the fish, but then, Sigil did a double take at the names signed at the bottom. “L-Lios…where and how did you get this note?”

“Oh! It was all over in town. I felt a dozen of them on the walls of every building there! I like the smell of it—whoever placed them there smelled of...hm, I don’t know how to describe it…it was a mysterious smell.”

“A mysterious smell?” Sigil arched a brow at Lios skeptically and shook his head again. “Well, it is a note from our rulers, Arceus and the Creation Trio, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. Something important came up and they’re requesting help. There’s also a reward for attending apparently…”

“A reward?” Lios perked up curiously with a grin on his face. “What kind?”

“Doesn’t say. So, should we go to Eden Town and see what kind of meeting that’ll be held?”

“Sure! Maybe the reward is delicious food!” Lios piped, licking his lips as he took a couple of the raw fishes in his hands and chomped down on them.

Sigil groaned, losing his appetite as the Deino PokePerson strolled beside him. “All you think about is food, don’t you?” Well, so much for their camping. Rolling up the parchment and placing it in one of his tunic’s inner pockets, Sigil placed a hand on Lios’ shoulder, helping guide the boy as they walked back toward the streets of Eden Town.

(assuming that the above 2 are there, if not, then consider this post invalid) A small helicopter with a Magikarp emblazoned on the side lands quite near the 2 volunteers(expecting pay....) in the same dark alley as their leader Karpy, as the doory flings open Admin Magi and admin Karp emerge from the small aircraft with a combined statement of "'Ma'Lady! We are going to accompany you!" which is welcomed with a kick in the face and full on tooth breaking action, of which Magi and Karp seem to come back from almost imediatly, which is responded from Karpy by "you imbeciles need not be here, so help me if you interefere I will make every waking moment of your pathetic lives hell, I will chain you in the dungeon and make it a effort to make you suffer, I will cut off one finger for each day and rub salt and vinegar in it!" which is responded by a gulp and a whimper by both Magi and Karp, when Karpy sees that 2 members are right there in front of her, as well as several citizens, she makes the Magikarptor self destruct(shrinks, then explodes in the size of a fire craker) "uhmmm nothing to see here....Move along...."

Shae continued her flight through the air, enjoying the calm, cool, breeze in the sky. She landed gracefully in the center of Eden Town, and was greeted by gasps of surprise, joy, and fear. She brushed some hair away from her face, smiling at the townsfolk. Eden Town was a more moderate sized town in Region X. It was seen more as a vacation area than anything else. It was built on the beach of Empoleon Sea and was home to many of the region's "upper class" citizens. As Shae walked through the town, she smiled and waved politely at citizens walking by, making whispers to each other about her as she passed.

Shae continued her stroll through Eden Town, thinking to herself, I hope that those that were willing to take the offer knew well enough to check the back for the location... She made her way to a small building towards the outskirts of town, she unlocked the door and stepped inside. The building itself was often called "Darkrai's Nightmare" as it was the oldest building in the town and was usually kept locked and not even the best PokéPeople could figure out how to get the door open. Thus, many just left it be and started strange folklore about how it was a haunted building that Darkrai would go and stay at when it was a full moon out. Shae rolled her eyes, just thinking about the preposterous myths the townsfolk had started.

In reality, the building was merely a small house that Arceus had ordered to be constructed in case there was something that could not be discussed at the Palace of Wonders. The building was called, in actuality, "The Hall of Circumstance".

It - like the Palace of Wonders - had marble flooring and tall, marble walls with stone columns supporting the roof. Shae walked through the hall, it was quiet and it caused chills to run up her back as she walked. She then stopped abruptly, Wait!, she thought, I need to be courteous and entertain my guests! She quickly went back outside and bought enough food to feed 50 Snorlaxes, with a wide assortment of: fishes, meats, fruits, and vegetables. Shae herself wasn't very fond of eating meat, but she knew many other PokéPeople were, so she reluctantly bought some anyway. After buying the food, she went over and bought a large assortments of natural juices. With the help of a few Machops, she brought all of the food back to the Hall Circumstance. Shae paid the Machops for their service and hired a few Chanseys and Blisseys to help her cook the food for her guests.

Flicker stops in the middle of the sidewalk. A sudden realization strikes her.

I can't afford an airline ticket right now!

She places her right middle finger and thumb on her temples, and closes her eyes. C'mon, Flick. You can't give up on a handsome reward. Think!, Flicker tells herself in her head. Her flower barrette begins to release some purple smoke, and the ribbons that hang from it pop alight in a mysterious purple, wispy flame. What could she do? Run all the way to Eden? It was pretty freaking far. Plus, she has rent to deal with, and that would take a nice cut from her funds. Her job as a grocery store attendant was only going so far. But, since her parents left her to do only Arceus knows what, money hasn't exactly come easy. Flicker walks into an alley, and thinks for a moment. It finally hit her: A boat! She hates water, but if money lies on the other side, it'd have to do. Flicker races to the port, and manages to get on a fishing boat. It ate up some of her cash, but she was able to cook the sailors dinner to take care of some of the price.

It takes a while, but Flicker arrives in Eden. Although she fled frantically from the water. She didn't know where to go, so she begins wandering kind of aimlessly, looking for others that may have answered the call of their leaders or whatever this was. She pulls out the letter again, looking over it. There were tons of these things here, too. Hopefully, this wasn't some huge joke. As sunlight hit the note, Flicker saw text on the other side: A location. "There you are..." Flicker smiles as she looks at the address. After asking a few locals, Flicker ends up at the doors.

"Not what I was expecting. But hey, money is money." Flicker clears her throat, rearranges her flower, and straightens up, knocking on the door ever-so-happily.

Karpy smirking at the building Shae entered, which is the one bordering the dark alley she was in, enters promptly, with a statement of "Follow my lead" to Magi and Karp "We're here to help lord Arceus, we would also like to fund this expendeture for all others joining" leaving millions of dollars, faked of course, Karpy is no idiot after all. then with Shaes back turned, and with no thoughts at all for anything, so Shae couldn't read, stole what they could carry in food and bolted out the door, and into the corporate "Karp Platinum" building in Eden, hiding in the basement and handing Magi and Karp a sachel"There, we wasted no money, and we get fed for a portion of the journey, then when we finnish with the journey, the world will be ours, oh I'm getting giddy just thinking of all the ways I could torture our future subjects to death!" with a jovial sigh and a grin crossing her face, if Shaymin read her mind at that moment, she would see various images ranging from one mans skull being eaten by a rat to one man being pulled apart limb by limb by 4 different horses.

Shae was busy conducting Blissies and Chansies around to not notice Team Magikarp sneak in and steal some of the food, but she wouldn't have noticed anyway, there was such a large amount of food that she bought.

But she did hear the soft knock on the door. Delighted, Shae bolted to the door, opening it quickly, and smiled warmly at the Litwick, "Hello, I'm Shae, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, ma'am. If you will follow me to the Dining Hall, we have plenty of food and drink available, so eat however much you want while we wait for the rest of our guests to arrive."

Shae paid no mind to the fake money that Team Magikarp had left, not needing to bother with money at this point in time.
