I was thinking maybe specimens escape from a lab facility after long time of being experimented on. And when the scientists figure this out they put a bounty on each of there heads and post them in nearby cities where they now live in fear with bounty hunters after them, some band together some prefer to be alone but im leaning to that sorta type of deal just throwing it out ther :P
