Taethil: Demons of the East
(I should state firstly that this Roleplay takes place in a Kingdom, Taethil {Pronounced Ta-ath-il}, that I created in another Roleplay, on another site. I say this on the off chance that someone happened to see that Roleplay, and jumps to the conclusion that I'm commiting plagiarism on someone elses work.)
On the dawn of first Era of the Beast, the once vast and ever expanding Kingdom of Taethil laid in ruin. Its capital city, Cadean, once a shinning beacon of culture and prosperity, remained as nothing more than a smoldering pile of stone, flames, and blood. Neither Human nor Elf remained, with only the Beasts that came forth from the East walking its depths. Its once prestine lake which rested in the centre, once surrounded by the elegant Elven architecture and breathtakingly inspiring Phelpatine Gardens, with its magnificent crystal roses and sparkling emerald grass, now lay as nothing more then a boiled, scarlet stained pit on nothingness, its Gardens chalk black. Even the once thought unclaimable Spire which stood on the farthest northern corner of the city, where its fierce and unruley King once remained, was bellowing with smoke from its peak. The Beasts... Demons that had laid ruin to this once great Kingdom relished their achievement, their shields and swords coated in the blood of Cadean's citizens. Their eyes now fixated west, to the neighbouring Kingdom of Olaello, there was now nothing left to stand against their purge of our world.
That is just one of many possible futures that have been laid forth for the Kingdom of Taethil, which now stood on its fifty-sixth year of its Tenth Era of Man. After a long and prosperous period of peace and tranquility, a peroid of termoil and aggression seems to be set to arise. Raem, Taethil's neighbouring Kingdom, a power larger than Taethil itself, disappeared. The once scientific-based people, even with the cities ever-closed borders, disappeared from the lands, without so much as a whisper. Instead, an unusual mist permeated the mountain region of Raem, which no who've entered have returned from. Taethil's malicous and tactical King, Lanius, held a council; the Elves of the North and the Warrior Kingdom of Olaello met with Lanius, discussing what possible options they had. How did they choose to respond? With force. An army, comprised of soldiers from all three nations, were sent to the mist, with the intent of discovering the cause of Raem's sudden silence. Once the force of nearly one-thousand strong entered the mist, none returned. Months passed, with the council left in sheer fear of what had happened to their soldiers, all preparing their own nations for what they thought would be an imminent counter attack from whatever force resided within the waiting abyss of mist, which never came.
After three months, one man returned from the mist; Thomas Moore. A man with humble origins in one of Taethil's agricultural villages, he returned from the mist with tales of the horrifying beasts that lay awaiting within. The council dismissed his stories of the Demons inside the abyss, whom had so easily slaughtered and tortured the thousand soldiers as if they were cannon fodder, and that he himself had only been spared the same gruesome fate so that he could tell of the horrors that awaited inside. The council had him locked away, declaring him a mad man, out of fear that what he had told them might be true. For a year they remained in denial, until the Elven cities of the North began to disappear; the mist was expanding, rapidly. Within a week, nearly the entire Northern forest region remained enshrouded in the dense mist. The Elves, a stubborn race, mostly decided not to flee their homes, believeing they could fare the mist off themselves and that their Goddess would protect them. She didn't. A few hundred Elves fled to Taethil, setting up mass refugee encampments within the glorious city walls.
Now, the mist is slowly heading south, towards the Taethil border. Turning to the one man to survive the mist, the council brought Thomas forward to them, which is where our story begins.
Thanks if you read through all of that. I'm looking for someone to play the role of the second protagonist. My idea for her is Clementia, an Elven noble women (Possibly the daughter of the Elven King, we can discuss this), possibly a few hundred years old (Which is still quite young for this race of Elves, appearing to be quite young by Human standards). A strong, beautiful woman, she has been chosen by the Council to accompany Thomas, whom they have sent to rally aid for the coming mist. Of course, as this is your character, everything is up for discussion and entirely up to you.
I'm looking for a capable, dedicated Roleplayer. I make mistakes occassionally, but I do expect a certain writing standard for this Roleplay, with posts being quite a few paragraphs long (With the occassional shorter paragraph; we all get writers block). You must be able to carry a story, bringing in ideas suitable for the Roleplay. If you're interested, either comment below or PM me. I hate being that guy, but I'd like a short writing sample, just to get a feel for your writing style.
I look forward to hearing from you.
