Earth, level 2044, The Bottom Bar.
Flynn takes a sip from his drink and looks up from his cards. He looks several aliens in the eye and grins.
''I raise with 50 credits!'' He shoves a credit chip on the table and folds his arms, waiting for the other aliens to take turn. The young man looks to his left and sees his companion Eryka sitting at the bar. He gives a signal that the game is going well and focuses back on the aliens. Two of the three aliens have thrown their cards away, but one alien is bold and puts his cards down on the table. He grins at Flynn and says, ''I wonder if you're able to beat that.'' Flynn looks at the cards and lays down his own cards. The alien covers his face with his hands and leaves the table in anger. ''Haha! I win!'', Flynn says. He takes the credit chips of the table and gets up. He touches his hat as thank you to the aliens and walks back to the bar with a big grin on his face.
"How was it?" Eryka asked as Flynn made his way to her, only out of mild curiosity. She wasn't one to gamble, and she knew how violent some of these aliens could get, so she usually just stayed out of interactions with others if it didn't have anything to do with her job. She raised her drink to her lips, leaning on the bar with her elbows, rolling her eyes at his goofy grin. "So you managed to win, huh? Did you cheat?"
''Cheating? Moi? You hurt my feelings Eryka.'' he said with played innocence. Then the grin reappears and he sits on the stool next to her. ''I had 3Y3 telling me which cards they had.'' As he says those words, a small eye-bot comes floating towards them. ''Hehe, good job little one.'' He turns back to Eryka and says, ''Mind if I pay the drinks this night? I've won quite a bit.'' And he shows her the credit chit, holding it between his fingers in front of his face.

"Why would I ever deny a free drink?" Eryka said with a smile, eyeing the eye-bot. Looks like it did come in handy.
It didn't shock her that Flynn had cheated. It wasn't like she got a steady income anyways. The credits he got from that alien were probably obtained by that alien cheating anyway. You could never trust anyone around here. She glanced down, making sure her gun was still in it's holster on her hip. The last fool that tried to take it from her, receieved a couple of broken noses. Eryka held her drink up, "Cheers to whatever!" and took a gulp.
Flynn takes a random drink that just stood there on the bar and holds that glass up as well. ''Cheers to whatever indeed!'' and also took a gulp. ''Right, how about we leave this dump for now and go back to our own luxury ship?'' He leans forward and whispers, ''I think we're gonna get some unwanted attention soon... Better we leave quickly.''

"Unwanted attention?" Eryka whispered. The woman could bet that someone found out about Flynn's cheating. She looked around behind her. There were plenty aliens in here that could snap her in half if she let them get the chance to. This definitely wasn't considered a family bar, and Eryka was already feeling a little tipsy. She reached for her gun, eyeing the room suspiciously. "Yeah, let's go. I'm definitely not in the mood for a fight right now."
"Actually, I am. But I'll think about our bones for now and let this fight slip." Flynn looks around the room. At least 10 aliens. Hmmmm... "Right, get up slowly and head for the exit. Keep your gun concealed and don't try to attract too much attention. Which I know is very hard for a lady like you down here, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I'll be right behind you." Flynn gets up from his stool and gestures his companion to leave.

"Of course you are," she whispered. "Always getting us into trouble." Eryka slowly got up from her seat, and gently shrugged on her jacket so that the her gun was hidden. She began to head for the exit, making sure that Flynn was behind her. It wasn't hard to realize that the bar had gotten quieter than before, and Eryka could feel every muscle in her body clenching, completely alert.
You can hear the voice of Flynn behind you. Apperantly some alien blocked his way and are having a fuss about it. You can overhear some of the words. "Well, it's not my fault that you are a halfwit!", you can hear Flynn saying. The alien mumbles something unrecognizable. A second or four later Flynn runs past you towards the exit. You can hear him saying something to you as he runs past. "Not my fault th-" The rest of the sentence gets cut off by blaster fire...

Eryka listened in confusion at first, then the sound of the blaster knocked her into jumpstart. "Flynn!" she called, yanking her gun out of the holster and turning back towards the alien, aiming the gun for it's head. Choosing not to think about it, she pulled the trigger, hitting the alien right between the eyes in a split-second. "Flynn! Are you alright?" Her heart races, and it seemed as though everything was in slow motion. She tried to find her partner through the crowd of people rushing around the bar. Everything was happening too fast.
