My daughter stuck a slightly open chainmail link made of 14 gauge galvanized steel in the disk drive of the ps3. Mike tried to get it out by using tweezers but pushed it further in.

Oh my, better call the techies, ASAP.
Get a paperclip, unbend it (but leave one end in a sort of 'L' shape), then see if you can angle it in and use it to nudge/scoop/push/drag the chain mail piece out.

There's a little thing which covers the disc insert slot to keep dust from getting in there.
I'll have to buy the tool to take the PS3 apart, because they don't use conventional screws anymore.

This is a simple problem with a simple solution;
Take the PS3 apart... remove the chainmail link... reassemble PS3.

V, if you've ever SEEN a child, then you'll know that childproofing anything only serves to keep the one childproofing things out, while the kids have a hayday with it by getting around it anyways.
Ever seen a childproof lighter? Kids have no problem with them. They hurt my fucking fingers.

Well, more like don't have more than one.
One tornado going through your house is bad enough. Two of them working together to accomplish their goal of mass destruction and mayhem is equivalent to allowing a nuclear warhead to detonate in your living room.
