It's vexing. From what I can tell, you're really interested in running a GM-driven RP, and I'm interested in participating in one, but NOBODY ELSE EVER IS.

It not that I am not interested, its the fact that once fighting starts I am not in control of my character. Everything is a dice roll which turns me off as someone who likes textual combat. It's a good idea but the dice thing just didn't work for me.
The writer who cares more about words than about characters, action, setting, and atmosphere is unlikely to create a vivid and continuous dream; he gets in his own way too much; in his poetic drunkenness, he can't tell the cart- and its cargo- from the horse.

I would totally be game for that. Life is often times completely out of our hands, and a good ol dice roll actually puts an element of reality into it for me.

I like dice myself actually, but have never been a fan of it in the arena. I think this would get more interest in a normal RP thread.
Trust, most of the D&D fans don't even touch the arena thread.
