The Walking Dead: Pack Mentality [Roleplay Idea]

Yeah, cause we need another Walking Dead Roleplay, right?

Anyway, here is my idea for a Walking Dead Roleplay: Our characters will all be apart of a survivor group, doing whatever they can to survive. It'll begin one week after the initial outbreak, but will hopefully take place over a long period of time, but a few timeskips thrown in occassionally. The Roleplay will heavily focus character development, and survival, meaning that we will have to manage supplies carefully between the group, scavenging what we can to keep on living. We will initially begin as using a scavenged school bus as our home, keeping on the move, but we will obviously have to abandon the bus eventually. Character interaction between Roleplayers will also be a heavy focus, so I'll be making a detailed character sheet that gives us a very good idea of how your character would act in certain situations. Everyone's characters will have a say in what we do, what decisions we make, with most decisions coming down to a group majority, unless we decide to eventually elect a leader of the group. But like I said, it is all up to us.

Throughout the Roleplay, I'll be posting the state of our supplies, which will be continuously going down as the Roleplay progresses; if we run out of supplies, we will start to starve to death, so we must keep note of what we have left and if we need to, send people off for supplies.

There will be more to the Roleplay, this is just a general idea.

Here is a basic outline for the character sheet, but I'll most likely add a few things:

    Name:
    Gender:
    Age:
    Height:
    Weight:
    Build:
    Ethnicity:
    Appearance:
    Personality:
Morality: (Please state how your character would react to the following hypothetical situations, giving brief answers.)

-Your survivor is leading a group of a few friends and family, and you're all on the verge of starving to death. You know of another some group with plenty of supplies, but they are unlikely to share. What do you do?

-Your best friend was bit, but they insist they are okay. What do you do?

-A small group depends on you to survive, but you get bitten, and have at best a few hours before you turn. How do you spend your last few hours?

-You have a strong holdout, with just enough supplies for your group. Another group finds you, and asks to be let inside your holdout. What do you do?

Role: (What role would your character be most suited to in the group? Scavenger? Doctor? Fighter? Any other that you might want to pick)
    Previous Job:
Equipment: (Be realistic, you can find the better stuff along the way)
Character History: (What your character did, up until they met the group)
    Other:

So, is anyone interested? Have any ideas?

Interested, but I don't think all the player's reply on this thread will be realistic though. I mean I watched walking dead and a lot of frustration going on there and I am not good at that lol. So far the idea is good for me.

Admittedly I never really got into the Walking Dead, however I am interested in a heavy character development and survival RP such as this one. I do have a question though, when characters are out scavenging for supplies do you intend on telling said characters what they find or is it up to their discretion?

Don't worry, you don't need to know much about the Walking Dead to take part in this Roleplay; for all intents and purposes, you could imagine it as just another zombie survival with a heavy focus on character development. I'd think the only thing you'd need to know is that no matter how you die, you become a zombie (Unless you damage your brian), and a bite just gives you a heavy infection that kills you, to which you then return as a zombie (Hope that made sense, Haha).

As for your question, when characters go out scavenging, I'll trust them to decide what they find, so long as they don't take advantage of this. I don't want them going out and finding twenty guns and unlimited ammo, because that would ruin the Roleplay; I want a focus of this Roleplay to be that we are struggling for supplies, and so while people might find some good stuff out there, the longer into the Roleplay we get, the less there is going to be to find, until eventually we will be struggling for scraps. So in short, yes, it is up to their discretion.

@Korza I appriciate your interest, and I hope it stays. I'll most likely get an OOC thread going soon so people can start making their character sheets and we can discuss ideas.

@Moe Satsuma Imo I'm not expecting 100% realism here, just that people don't go over the top and try to keep it at a level of realism

I'm sure we could always use someone with medical training.

I hope you will not mind if the doctor is not going to be exactly what one would call "a saint".

Not only do I not mind, I encourage it. Having a doctor that's not all good will add alot to the roleplay; the group might not like him, but they can't get rid of him because they need him. Is that the kind of thing you we're going for?

Yes, that is precisely what I was thinking of.

How many people are you ideally looking for?
