Dan waited outside the Q labs, holding some papers in his hand, and staring intently at the locked doors. As a section D agent, he had to clean up a lot of other peoples messes. This time, some agent had a left a piece of tech that officially didn't exist yet in the field, and didn't bother to activate the self destruct system. To avoid an embarrassing leak to the media, section D decided to quickly write up a patent, and then uses their connections with the patent office to make it look like a start-up company invented the device a year ago. After everything went through, they'd make up some story about the company filing for bankruptcy right before it was supposed to be released to the public, and nobody would get suspicious.
He needed someone from the Q labs to look over the paperwork, and make sure that the documents were accurate, but vague enough not to give away any other secret tech. After he got the paper signed, maybe he could ask one of the Q agents about borrowing a communications van for his next assignment as handler. Though he didn't mind sitting at a desk, it could be nice to get outside the office every once in a while.
