I’ve been a role-player for years, but recently everyone I RP with has fallen out of the game and I’m left with no one to “play” with. I prefer playing one on one (or in a small group of no more than four players), as large group games tend to get convoluted and can be completely ruined by just one member suddenly not being able to participate (I’ve had many occasions in the past where a thread fell apart because someone playing a key character suddenly no longer had time to post with any manner of regularity). I’m capable of writing detailed posts, but have recently fallen into doing short, one-to-three sentence posts simply because that’s how my most recent partner usually did it. I can do better, it’s just a habit that might take a bit to fall out of.
Role Playing Since: 2003
Fandom or Original?: I’m comfortable with doing both, but will sometimes create OCs for fandom based ones (Next generation characters, alternate love interests, new enemies, etc.)
Fandoms: Generally I prefer fandoms of anime and video games, with some interest also in literature fandoms.
(There are likely some fandoms not included on these lists, as I couldn't think of EVERYTHING off the top of my head. It's also worth noting that I have more familiarity with some fandoms than others.)
Particularly Craving At Present: Yu Yu Hakusho, Saiyuki, Soul Eater, Once Upon A Time, Final Fantasy VIII
Original Genres: I can do pretty much anything a partner would want, but generally speaking I tend to do fantasy and dystopia. I’ve never done sci fi, but I’d really like to give one a try as I’ve recently started to get in to the genre more.
Romance: Comfortable with hetero, yaoi (gay), or yuri (lesbian). Generally speaking, I tend to play the female in hetero pairings, the dominant in yaoi pairings, and the submissive in yuri pairings. Again, this is GENERALLY and I am willing to do otherwise. Am not against shouta or loli (so long as they're not TOO young), or incest.
Violence:While generally speaking the RPs I’ve participated in have been fairly light on violence, I’m not against doing something more on the graphic side. I should also note that I do not God Mod. When my character attacks, I leave it up to my partner whether or not the blow connects. When I’m attacked, I don’t have my character being able to dodge ever single hit thrown at them.
Availability: I try to get on whenever I can, but with my personal computer out I can only get on when my aunt lets me borrow hers. My availability may be fairly erratic...
Literacy:While I'm not a grammar Nazi, I do prefer to play with literate partners. No "c u l8er" when you should be saying, "See you later!" or anything along those lines. If you occasionally have a typo, I won't chew you out (though I may poke fun at you for entertaining ones, one of my partners once accidentally typed "killed" when she meant "kissed"), so long as you're at least attempting to write literately. For my own part, I admit sometimes my hands move faster than my brain, and I will accidentally type the wrong version of a word ("there" when I needed "their" or similar mistakes).
Things I Won't Do: I'm not really capable of playing abusive characters, except MAYBE if they're just verbally abusive. I'm not capable of playing out physical or sexual abuse. I don't object to it being in an RP I'm in, I just can't be the one playing it. In other words, I'm fine with playing a character that's abused, just not with playing an abuser. This list may be added to if I become uncomfortable with something someone suggests, but as of now that's all I can really think that I won't do.
