There was once a civilization like no other, a strange, civilized group of people. Of which all had been born with wings, varying from filmsy dragonfly wings or thick, feathery bird wings. They had a humanoid appearance, however, their skeleton was not all the same. With their abnormally large lungs and long, muscular bodies, they were shunned from social interaction with humans. So, thy built their own civilization, in the clouds. Did i forget to mention, they had abilities only scientists would dream about? They were extremely intelligent, and their knowledge of physics made them able to literally, build on the clouds. The city was named, Avis Civis, the latin words for Avian and Civil.
The species did not have a specific name, however, they were referred to Avians, due to the fact while calling them a bird would be appropriate, but an avian as a more specific, secluded species than 'bird'. And from that, the city grew. However, humans couldn't see it. Why? Because, compare a birds eye sight to a humans. Huge difference, right? Well, using that same hypothesis, the cells and materials they used were impossible to see by the naked eye. There were many reports if planes crashing in the middle of the sky, for an unknown reason. So, Doctor Lauren Carmen decided to investigate. Using a fine telescope, she easily say the huge civilization in the sky. So amazed, so wowed, she arranged a private jet to go visit it, and then she would be in history to be the first human to visit Avis Civis, and the last.
Doctor Lauren was never alone in her research; the government was constantly taking note of her work, due to the fact she was only one of the most renowned scientists in the world at the time. Discovering Avis Civis was extremely hard to hide from the government, despite the doctors genius mind. So, they planted a bug on her lab coat while she was visiting, and over heard her friendly talk with the Avians. The avians were a gentle, friendly race. They were surprised to see a visitor, but were very polite. The invited h to stay for a bit, and told her pretty much everything about how the city worked. Now, the Avians were indeed intelligent, but they were indeed oblivious to the world around them. They didn't know that the government would attack them, taking mothers and children hostage, to perform tests. After this event, Doctor Lauren was jailed. Before this, she had record a message in her earthen home, and buried it before it was excavated:
"This is Doctor Lauren Carmen speaking. If you happen to be reading this message, I warn you, if you do not put this down right now and bury it again, you may not see your normal life again. If not, I will continue. So, I have discovered the miraculous world of Avis Civis. The government has tracked me down and stolen the women and children of the Avians, using them for tests. The men were slaughtered, and the entire race is...gone. But if you're reading this, I know a way to revive them. In is capsule is a bag, of Avian fathers. Do not open it. Go to exactly 180 Degrees north of here, and stop, go into the lab there with those feathers, and cultivate the cells left on them–which are of course, still alive, but you must hurry.. Put them away, and then do what I say next. I must hurry, my execution is coming quickly. Avians have inhuman growth, so I suggest your cultivation takes place in a large, plastic tank.. Thank you—" The video buzzes, freezing, and then it blacks out. You know what you have to do, this is the only way to save the lost city in the sky. So are you going to let this fly, or pursue this adventure? Its all up to you, now, so good luck.
