(most of it is in the "Story that leads to the present")When Cas was born, his mother could not withstand the pain of her child exiting her body. Within a few seconds after his birth she died from the extreme pain. However, During his birth, a dragon egg that had been within the Order for a thousand years began to hatch. The Sages were surprised, they did not know what was going on. For how could this egg hatch on its own with no one near it. As Castiel took his first breath on to the world, so did the dragon. While they both shed their first cry upon their new surroundings, the Sage of Light held the infant and placed him on a carriage. As he did, baby Castiel began to radiate a golden light from his body. As that happen, the young dragon escaped from the egg vault, where they were holding him, and jumped onto the carriage and growled at the sage, as if it were trying to protect the little infant. From that day, the sages new this baby was special, but how special? There was already one born the same time a dragon hatched (Raphael), and he is already in the Order. What could this mean, that another born as a dragon hatched? The sages were terrified and confused, the stone tablet for told nothing like this. The dragon sages decide to go back to the stone tablet and make sure they had their information correct, however in the mean time they decided to let the Dragon Sage of Light look after Castiel and decide to make him a Lord in the Order.
Castiel did not have a good childhood, when he turned three, his training to become a Lord in the Order began. Ogam was not to kind towards him, due to the sage's fear of the young boy, he was cruel to him. He trained him to his very limit every day, breaking his small bones in every training session and his spirit. However, after every training session, no matter how badly Castiel was beaten, he would smile at his teacher and thank him for the training. Every time he would do that, Ogam would become surprised, and made sure that the next day's training was harder than the last. As the years gone by, Cas showed signs of exceeding the rest of the Order , and in time Ogam seemed to grow very attached to the young boy, becoming more like a father to him then a teacher. Watching the young Cas grow and become stronger with his element, Ogam bestowed upon him the surname Caelestis, which means the Heavenly One in Latin. Due to Castiel's mastery of the element of Light, the Light Sage decided to make him a full member of the Order and gave him a seat upon them. During this time Castiel turned 6, becoming the youngest person to ever join the Order. The rest of the Lords of the Order did not like the idea of a small brat in the Order, for how can a simple child protect those and lead the lords of his element.
After becoming a Lord of the Order, life became more rough for Castiel. The other members of the Order never accepted him as a true member ,so they would, in a way, pick on him, and secretly beat him behind the sages back. Castiel did not care for the beatings he would acquire from the other Lords, he would allow them to beat on him. He knew deep inside, that they were scared of him, for how can there be another born with a dragon. In a way, Castiel saw himself as a freak, however, every now and then his dragon would comfort him and remind the young boy that he was special.
Ever since his birth, Cas has always been with his dragon. They would play and train together every day. They became more then friends and partners, they became brothers. Sharing an ultimate bond, Cas did not need a Dragon Amulet to understand his Dragon. The first words he knew were in Draconian. This surprised the Sages and made them believe that this boy could be something great. When Castiel was able to speak in the human language, the first word he spoke was "Grim", after over hearing one of the sages say the word describing an event that happened in the city. The next word he learned was "Fang", after the Dragon Sage of Light scolded Castiel's young dragon for being over protected of the young Cas while he was examining the boy for sickness. Ever since then all Castiel would say was "Grim Fang", so Ogam decided that would be the young dragons name.
As Cas got older, Ogam believed that the young boy could be the one destined to be the High Dragon Lord, but the other sages were still suspicious of whether he was truly the one. However those suspicions died once they saw the boy being beaten by older children. Castiel did not run, he did not scream, he stood strong and firmly on the ground after each powerful blow struck his body. After the beating, he tried to regain his balance leaning on the wall. He then looked at the young thugs coughing out blood trying to focus his vision, and said in a soft voice, “Its ok, I forgive you”. After that day the Dragon Sages knew that he was the one who was destined to lead the Order. No Lord since the age of legend was capable of forgiveness and compassion of other’s great sins.
After becoming a High Dragon Lord, Castiel's life changed in a way. The Lords in the Order would not long beat him but instead, once he was named High Dragon Lord, they all bowed before him and apologized for everything they have done. Castiel just looked at them with a smile and forgave them. Now that he became High Dragon Lord, Cas was able to go out into the city and see the sites, with the supervision of Ogam. However, he was warned to let know one know of who he truly was. If someone did know, the enemies of the Order would stop at nothing to have him killed. Being able to now leave the confinement of the Order, Cas tried his best to learn everything he possible could about the outside world. He was fascinated with all the people and different races. But as much as he wanted to he was never able to stay out very long, and he was only able to leave the Order once a year. So every time he would go out, everything changed and he would no longer recognize the world that he so wished to be a part of.
Once he turned thirteen, Raphael returned and demanded a duel with Cas. Castiel did not know he had an older brother. When Raphael approached him, Ogam explained who Raphael was. Once he did, Castiel was overjoyed that he had a family, and accepted his brother's challenge. Little did Cas know that the challenge was to the death. Raphael gave everything he had while fighting his younger brother, but Cas saw it as a game. The whole time the fight was going on Castiel would smile. This angered Raphael, seeing his brother smile and knowing he did not take the battle seriously. However, no matter how hard he tired, Castiel became victorious. As Raphael looked down in shame, his younger brother approached him and said with a smile, "that was fun, we should do it again brother but this time let's give it everything we got". That statement enraged Raphael, he bolted out of the Order and vanished. Castiel did not know what happened, he just stood there watching the only true family he ever had just leave without saying a word.
Years later when Raphael returned, Castiel became overjoyed. He welcomed his brother with open arms and wanted to have another battle with him. However, Raphael ignored him and bolted straight to the meeting room. When Castiel caught up with him, he was explain to the other Lords that the Dark Ones and the Lycans must be exterminated. Castiel was surprised that his brother would ask for a complete massacre. Cas and the other Lords ordered Raphael to leave the Order and not return. As Raphael left, Cas became depressed, "How can my brother ask for something like that, it's wrong in many different ways. what is wrong with him?" Few days later, Cas heard word what his brother had done. When the Order summoned him for judgment and order for his execution, Cas spoke out. "My Lords, what he has done is wrong. How can a person that is sworn to protect the lives of others be so despicable to kill others. However, how will killing him bring back the dead, what good would it do if we become just like him and end his life. I for one do not, that is why I'm saying to you this my Lords. I rule that we have him stripped of his amulet and sent to the far reaches of the world. So that he will no longer be a danger to anyone else". As Cas approached his brother to remove his amulet, he whispered in his ear " I do not know what you were thinking brother. I am ashamed of you, but I forgive you. If you live your life at the Edge of the Earth, then maybe the other lords my allow you to return". After he said those words, Raphael looked at his brother and smiled, then he left the Order and Dragons Reach with his Dragon by his side.
Years Later when Castiel became twenty one, his brother returned. However, it was not a happy reunion. Raphael attacked Dragons Reach with a giant army of humans and witches, leaving everything in their path bathed in blood and death. Castiel and the Order tried their best to protect the city, but they became easily over whelmed. Castiel could only stand helplessly as his fellow Lords became over whelmed by the army and fall one by one. As the battle progressed, Cas to was becoming over whelmed and could not last any longer, until the Sages formed a plan. Combining their powers the Sages and Castiel were able to kill off some of Raphael's forces and force the rest to retreat. After the Battle Castiel collapsed from exhaustion and awoke a week later to the site of the destroyed city. Deep inside Castiel knew this was his fault, his vision was clouded by the thought of a real family. But deep inside he knew his brother couldn't be trusted. Now Cas hates himself for allowing this to happen, and will stop at nothing to make it right.
