[The Kid Lantern]

In a not so distant future, the young Batman Terry McGinnis is the last member of the Justice League Unlimited having not been captured by the forces of Darkseid in an assault on the JLU headquarters in Metropolis. Superman, Green Lantern Kai-Ro, Barda, Warhawk, the new Flash, Static, Micron, and Aquagirl have all been taken by the mad tyrant's son Kalibak. Parademons fly through the skies of Metropolis as several of the Dark Gods of Apokolips have been doing as they wish in Superman's absence. It's up to Terry to find a group of heroes to break the Apokolips Code to the pocket universe prison of the JLU. However Kalibak, Metron, De'Saad, and Stompa [the only remaining Fury in the future...] stand in their way. Who will become the new League?

Inspiration - the Ray

Powers/Skills - light based powers including a hardlight blast, near limitless speed, intangibility in his light form, and simpler constructs like hammers and force fields. He also wrestled in High School for three years [he quit his senior year and did a stint of rehab] and can grapple with the best of them.

Weaknesses - his energy reserves can be tapped out if he fights for too long. Add to that he's a bit cocky and often bites off more than he can chew. He's also a recovering drug addict, once being addicted to the super steroid venom "slappers" like many High School athletes.

Appearance -

BRIEF Bio - Mason was attending a light show at the Midway City space observatory when an alien ship crashlanded through the roof breaking the most powerful telescope in the eastern states. There were six fatalities including a being that looked as if made of solid light that faded away in the space ship's wreckage. In actuallity, the being passed on and directed it's power to Alexander Mason. The last three years Alex has been adventuring as the Ray, mostly in Midway fighting the occasional supervillain, but after realizing he can survive in space without support he walked on the moon for the first time several weeks ago.

Notes - Mason is so cocky, he believes that he can beat the current Green Lantern of Earth [Kai-Ro] in battle. He forgets the fact that while he may be willing to throw down, the Lantern is a pacifist.

Powers/Skills - As a full blooded homo magi, Jacob has the ability to create and cast numerous magical spells. He is able to cast the spells on himself, or any other living or non-living thing. To do this Jacob has to speak the phrase backwards. Along with this, Jacob has been trained to be a gifted stage magician and hypnotist who can routinely enthrall audiences with his mystifying and entertaining performances.
Weaknesses - Although Jacob has great potential, he is still learning and training. As such, he can slip up spells either through lack of enough concentration or simply goofing up saying the spell. Also, since he hasn’t had a truly long enough period of time training, bigger spells or constant using them can wear him out faster than other magic users.

BRIEF Bio - In the midst of all the tech and height of Gotham City, lays a little shop. What seemingly is a relic of old days, it usually is the victim of people in the city walking by each night seemingly always ignoring it. One day, a young boy happened into it. It wasn’t on purpose mind you, he had just stolen from a food truck some blocks away and was trying to hide from police and the angry food truck owner. Being homeless and sick of foster homes can do that to a tired 13 year old boy. There however behind the counter was the owner. A woman, high up in age but with a still seemingly ageless beauty, inquired about what had happened. The young boy panicked, trying to make up a story before the woman said a few foreign words in a whisper, the young boy immediately becoming honest in a shock even to him.

The woman saw the troubled youth, realizing things about him in that moment even he didn’t know. She offered him a deal. She’ll not only not rat him out to the police, but give him a bed to sleep on and a roof to sleep under. Only asking in return he helped run her magic shop. Such an offer was too good to pass up, so the boy accepted.

Over time the young boy began to learn things. The woman, named Zatanna, and himself were both ‘homo magi’. A particular breed of mankind capable of using the craft of magic. She began teaching him things, small at first. Soon though the young boy bloomed into a man. Jacob Zambonini had nothing to his name, now with Zatanna his adopted mother however. He has become one of magic’s most talented youngsters. However not content with just doing a stage show, Jacob under his stage name of ‘Zataro’ has begun doing magic tricks out in the streets. Using viral videos and word of mouth to build his presence in the world.

Powers/Skills - Power Suit: Through the use of various technology companies coming together a suit was born, not the first of it's kind, but certainly more advanced, designed to look sleeker, while performing to expectations. It interfaces with the user's body, enhancing certain characteristics, making her stronger, faster, durable and able to perceive and store information at a faster rate, fly, and even shoot lasers.
Superhuman Strength: The suit allows for heavy lifting and heavy hitting. She is capable of lifting 20 tons on dead lift.
Invulnerablity: The suit allows for some good hits, however even it has it's limits so it's best not to get hit alot.
Superhuman Endurance: The suit interfaces with her muscles, slowing down the rate of lactic acid production. She can go for a fair bit of time without the need for rest.
Superhuman Speed: On ground she can run at a good 200 MPH, and in flight that is easily doubled. This can also let her react a hell of alot faster.
Perception: The suit allows the brain better information storage, allowing her to make quicker decisions and reactions.
Wrist Lasers: Yes lasers. If being able to punch a tank or punt semi truck wasn't enough, the suit has lasers. The laser is a heat laser, one that can reach extreme heats to achieve various tasks. The laser can be controlled in temperature, concentration, and intensity. However the laser uses up more power than the rest, so really she will avoid using it unless necessary.
Weaknesses - Human: Having been drained of her powers long ago, outside of the suit, she is human, susceptible to normal human diseases, causes of death and the like.
High Calorie Intake: In order to not fall over of exhaustion everytime she uses the suit, she needs to eat high calorie meals in high volume. Usually when she is on the field for an extended time she has a food bar that is designed to maximize Calories while still being mostly Nutritious, hidden in a miniature black box hidden on her person.
Appearance -

BRIEF Bio - She was originally a hero when she was 12-14 but due to exposure to certain things that she does not talk about. Since than she had fallen off the map as far as heroing went, and had taken up concentrating on her schooling, which she was excelling at. When she got into college she decided to major in Biomechanical engineering, which once more she was excelling in. As she left college her skills were recognized, and was offered a job on a Top Secret job. To recreate a hero using technology. It was a success and Sharen was used as the exhibitor. After sometime of showing off to top brass, she was assigned once more to actually putting use to the suit. She was given information that heroes were missing and that she was to put herself out there. A chance to be a hero again, it had crossed her mind when she was building the suit many times. After some deliberation she took it, donned the suit, and took up the Power Girl title.
Notes - She is Kryptonian, but one who has lost her powers. Though no one knows this but the few who have access to such information like Batman.

Feline Physiology - The Mai Genome grants Wildcat with several feline physical attributes. Wildcat's five senses are enhanced, especially his vision allowing him to see in the dark (His eyes turn cat-like when using night vision or if angry). His feline attributes also give him supernatural reflexes, balance, agility, speed, strength, flexibility, and speed. His feline agility allows him to jump far distances and land on his feet like a cat. His mannerisms also resemble a cat, having stealth, an aversion to dogs, hissing when he's angry, eating fish, etc. His feline attributes also gives him an enhanced healing factor and resistance to poisons. At will, Wildcat can grow his finger nails to make sharp claws used for offensive purposes and to scale walls giving him enhanced climbing. The Mai Genome allows Wildcat to resurrect only 9 times after death. (Nine Lives)
Telepathic Resistance - An extension to the Mai Genome allows Wildcat to be resistant to telepathic abilities.
Feline Empathy - An extension to the Mai Genome allows Wildcat to read the emotions of cats, allowing him to understand them.
Weaknesses -
Other than being resistant to poisons, Wildcat's weaknesses are like any other human. He may have a healing factor, but that is for less severe injuries. Once his nine lives are gone, he can die for good.
Equipment -
Wildcat is proficient in the hand-to-hand combat style Capoeria (Brazilian Dance Fighting) which actually was a skill acquired from the genome. Wildcat is a skilled Marksmen thanks to his feline senses, allowing him to be proficient with a nine foot bull whip which he keeps on his belt loop and throwing blades that resemble cats.
BRIEF Bio -
Salem was that geeky nerd all throughout public school. His fashion sense was horrible, had horrid acne, and he was easy prey for bullies. He had never been on dates with other guys (he's gay), and he was basically a loner. However, he did excel in his studies and graduated top ten percent of his class. Salem has an Egyptian Mau cat named Bast, after the Egyptian Goddess. She's been with him ever since he was little and wondered why she would hardly age. After he graduated, Salem went on to college at M.I.T. to study computers. During his time in college, he took an internship position at Vera Corp. which was one of the top computer programming businesses in the world. One night, Salem overheard his boss discussing some illegal matters with other men. Salem was caught eavesdropping and was caught by the guards. Because of the things he heard, Salem couldn't be kept alive. His boss shoved him through a glass window and he fell 50 stories to his death. Out of nowhere, Salem's cat scurried up to his dead body and climbed on him, resurrecting him. His cat, unbeknownst to him at the time, had the spirit of Bast within her. His death and resurrection triggered his Mai genome that had been in his DNA since birth. Overnight, Salem went from a geeky male to an attractive man that resembled a male model. All of his physical features were enhanced and in peak condition. After discovering who he was and what his abilities were, he took revenge on the company that was responsible for his death. Since then, Salem took on the name Wildcat and turned to a life of vigilantism. Although, because of his feline ways Wildcat can act very sporadic and do anti-hero things like rob a jewelry store. But he's trying his hardest to suppress his temptations.
Notes -
Wildcat belongs to a species known as Mai. The Mai once acted as defenders of the human race, first as guardians for Egyptian pharaohs. The Mai are demi-gods, descendants from the cat Goddess, Bast that are possessed with cat-like attributes. The Mai's role as protectors lasted until the 16th century B.C.E. when they were defeated by the Ramses. Mai have protected humans ever since, only being a limited amount each generation. Although the Mai genome may be within the being, it remains dormant until the person is killed and the Mai’s familiar (an Egyptian Mao, said to have the spirit of Bast in them) resurrects them from death, activating the Mai gene and their powers. Before their powers, they are a normal human being.

Powers/Skills -

Aerokinesis - can control air, allowing him to mentally summon Cyclones and Tornadoes at will. it also allows him to deflect most incoming objects with ease, however, small things like bullets can be hard.

Flight - by encircling himself with strong air-currents, he can easily fly.

Martial Arts master - trained in Martial Arts by Ted Grant.

Cooking - Having learned a lot about cooking from his grandma, he is easily able to cook up a storm.

Weaknesses -

Conventional weaknesses - he wears a Bullet-proof vest to try and help this, but it only protects his chest and stomach, but veering bullets off-course is difficult, also, most anything that would kill a human can kill him.

BRIEF Bio - Born as the son of Heuy Hunkel, one of the original Cyclone Twins, They quickly found out that he had a Meta-Gene that allowed him to control air, unlike most people, it actually manifested in him at an early age. He spent a lot of time with his Grandma (Abigail Hunkel, the original Red Tornado) helping her in the kitchen, learning the secrets of the trade and growing very close to the old lady. He decided to become a hero at a young age, after finding out that his father had also been a Superhero. On his first time out, he was actually saved by his Grandma putting her old "Pot of Justice" back on. (Naturally, he got a very smacked bottom when he got home.)

After getting home, his Grandma sat him down and told him, that if he was going to do anything like that again... the least she could do is train him, calling in help from her old pal Ted Grant in order to train him to kick as much criminal butt as possible. He worked for about 10 years as a Sidekick under the name "Cyclone" for several JSA members, including Alan Scott, Ted Grant and Hour-man. However, has now moved on to become the Red Tornado.

• Master Escapologist (a master escape artist).
• Trained in combat by Barda herself, Connor is talented in various Apokolips fighting techniques.
• Familiar with technology from Apokolips and New Genesis.
• Near peak physical conditioning.

Weaknesses -

Connor is a normal human meaning gunshots and blades can kill him easily.

Equipment

• A Mother Box - Mostly used for teleportation via boom-tubes.
• Assorted picks/lockpicks - Used for escaping traps. These are stored in small pockets in his belt, boots and gloves, as well as one hidden in his mask.
• Aero Disks - Modified versions of the typical aero disks used by The New Gods, these allow for Connor to travel at fast speeds, as well as enabling him flight. They are designed to retract into his boots when not in use.

BRIEF Bio -

Born and raised in the suburbs, Connor had a fairly normal childhood. At school he wasn't one of the nerdish bully victims, nor was he one of the bullies himself. He wasn't a jock or one of the computer geek. He wasn't even one of those posh preppy kids. He just existed. That all changed however when Scott and Barda Free moved in next door.

One day while he was walking home from school, Connor was mugged by a group of thugs. He tried to stand up for himself and fend them off when one of them pulled out a knife. That was when Mister Miracle arrived. He fought off the gangbangers and saved Connor. Although not before having his mask ripped off by one of the thugs. Connor couldn't believe his eyes when he saw that it was his neighbor, Scott.

Promising to not tell anyone about what he saw if he was trained, Scott took Connor under his wing and everyday after school he would train the teenager to be an escape artist. After a while, his wife Barda (who was infact the infamous Barda from the Justice League) began to teach Connor how to fight.

After a few months, Connor took to the streets as the new Mister Miracle, using Scott's old equipment and a modified suit to fight crime. He has now been Mister Miracle for a couple of years.
