The point is average people placed into the situation of a zombie apocalypse would be far more likely to call them zombies, not walkers or biters. The idea of zombies is so embedded in popular culture that what everyone thinks when they see a corpse walking is "Zombie!", so why would the characters in WD call them anything else? But you don't care what I think, you'll tell me I'm wrong for some reason and whatever.
I don't know what to put here right now.

In season two, there was a pretty major contingent of the main party that still believed they were just infected, but otherwise normal, people.

Why don't you just run in the opposite direction.
In the graphic novels, the past few issues have been showing how the zombies are deteriorating more and more. Keeping in mind that when the series/ novels start, it's about a month after the outbreak, all of the dead are still relatively fresh corpses. They still have most of the muscles that the body had before it died. They're not able to heal their own tissues, so they are wearing down as the months go on. In one of the latest issues, the group encountered a zombie that was still aware of what was going on, but it didn't have the strength to reach out and grab the person that was right in front of them. In the latest issue of the novels, one of the zombies was so badly deteriorated that its head basically squished like a rotten pumpkin after getting stomped. So, there are signs the zombies deteriorate in time, so there may be hope that most of the ones from the beginning weeks of the outbreak will basically expire soon.

I tried to get into the TV series, I just can't do it. I don't know why, I'm not sure if it's because the events are too different from the novels, or because I just don't care for the characters in the show. The governor in the show is nowhere near as intimidating as his portrayal in the books. I think the show tried to humanize him and make him someone you could sympathize with more instead of the horrible, memorable monster from the books. I think I know why a lot of people who love the A Song of Ice and Fire novels hate the TV show, and it's probably for the reasons I dislike this show.

A special thanks to Vanquished for the sig!
And another special thanks to Tick for the avatar!

    Quality explanation.

And I've been meaning to get into the comics, since I've already engrossed myself in the TV show and video game. The video game's really fucking good, though there's a different group of people, there's a few cameos from people in the comics and TV show (Hershel/Glenn).
