Super Power RP Idea (Title will be thought of later)

I'm going to keep this short since the Walking Dead is on. So I've been heavily looking around this site for things that interest me. Such as Sci-fi RPs and my specialty; Superpower RP's. Most have already started and quite frankly have plots I don't really like. So I've been thinking of a Super Power RP of my own but instead of the generic school for mutants kinda thing or super heroes. How about just a RP about relatively average power in a relatively average city with super powers coping with their abilities and facing the many threats that'd come after them. I'm thinking that it'd be fantasy based, and has some minor religious/mythological themes.


I know I haven't RP'd here at all, neither have I been here too much. But I know what I'm doing. What does everyone (or anyone looking at this) think?

Some interest, good. Since I have some free time (and the Walking Dead isn't on) I'll explain the other things I've thought of



Plot: Well, it's more or less going to be a sandbox RP. For a little while we're all going to run about and have adventures to develop our characters while the bad guy(s) work in the shadows. Our first adventure will be a party.



Setting: I'm thinking that it'll be based in a rural southern community, or an enormous city that's like a mix of New Orleans, Venice and New York (a city with plenty of rivers flowing through it, casinos and all kinds of that) named Verthedge. I'm not too good at describing cities/towns so it's going to be a "make it up as you go along" kind of thing. Anywho, I plan for most of our characters to be teenagers or around that age.


Powers: I'll pretty much allow any power as long as it's reason. Unless it's one of those horrid generic ones (Super speed, pryomancery, you get the picture), an excessively strong ability or time travel/mind control (those never end well). I'll be lenient since I'll allow powerful characters to an extent since if you god-mod I'll kill your character without prejudice. Oh yeah, did I mention that powers will be kept a secret from other RP'ers and only I will know of the powers for the early stages of the RP.
