    Rosaline Heart couldn't remember the last time she had been in America. The past few decades spent in a lovely quaint city in England had been like a paradise. It was remote and thousands of miles away from Klaus Mickaelson or anyone that knew the original vampire. So why was she back? Unfortunately Katherine Pierce had contacted her, in need of her help for some reason. What the help she needed was, Rosalie wasn't sure. But here she was, entering some small town called Mystic Falls. Hopefully this would be quick and she could go back to England, thousands of miles away from harm.

    If only she could find where the Wickery Bridge was.. So far she was just walking around, feeling a bit lost since this was a town she had never been in before. Maybe if she could find someone and ask.. By nature she was cautious and distrusting of people and she didn't really want people to know someone knew was in town unless she absolutely had to. A bridge couldn't be to hard to find. Maybe she should try calling Katherine again. The woman hadn't answered the last time, which had been very annoying.

    Stopping dead in her tracks just as she was about to call, she saw who she presumed to be Katherine.

    This was growing very irritating. Every plan they came up with to kill Klaus and get rid of him, every time it failed somehow. The incident with Michael, it had been perfect but Stefan had found enough humanity to keep Klaus from being killed since it would meant Damon Salvatore's own death. While he liked living, it would still have rid them of the original. And then with the mother.. They could have been rid of all the originals but they, luckily, managed to find out in time that if an original dies the vampires from that blood line die. That certainly left a big problem of how to get rid of them. All they did was cause trouble.

    "Get over it. We'll find another way to be rid of them," Damon heard his brother say. Sometimes Stefan found ways to just annoy him more. Hopefully he was right though. They would need a miracle to figure out a way where they wouldn't die by killing whichever original's bloodline they were from.

    "Yeah, yeah, because all our other plans have been such a great success," Damon said, tipping his glass of scotch ever so slightly as if making a toast before taking another drink from where he was on the coach. It was clear he may have been a little drunk. Despite the fact it was hard for vampires to get drunk, the ones in this town drunk more than enough to get buzzed.

    That evening, the Mystic Grille was extremely crowded. It usually was these days, Klaus Mickaelson realized as he navigated his way through the groups of people. the single empty seat at the bar was just within his reach. He could feel his mouth water, sense his shoulders relaxing. A drink. That was what he needed the most. And, although it may have just been a small town hot spot, the Grille could really mix their alcohol. It was like their staple. He had been there pretty much ever night since he'd arrived in that town. There wasn't much else to do.

    The previous events of the week, of the month, hell, of the year, weighted down on him as he claimed his seat. He ordered a simple shot of whiskey, not wanting to get too extravagant. The woman at the bar had long since stopped asking to see his ID. It was strange because he hadn't even compelled her to do it. He supposed that it was because he found himself there so often. Most of the time, when she was the one bartending, he didn't even have to say what he wanted. She could usually tell by the look on his face.

    "Rough night?" She asked, sliding the shot into his hands. She took the few bills he dropped on the table and slipped them in her pocket.

    "You could say that," he said. He lifted the glass to his lips and downed the shot in a single second. The alcohol burned a fiery path of warmth down his throat. He held up a hand for another one.

    ~~~
    Great. This was just great.
    Anna Danvers pounded against the steering wheel of her beat up Ford truck. The engine made a strange wheezing sound, and then went silent. She twisted the keys in the ignition once, twice, three times. She spat out a few angry curse words and kicked her heeled foot out against the bottom of the dash. It did nothing but scuff her boot. Outside the car, thunder rumbled overhead, a strange and eery noise against the backdrop of the setting sun. It was getting late, and dark, and she hadn't had a chance to buy a cell phone yet.
    Of course this would happen to her on her first day back.
    She was in the absolute middle of nowhere. The only things around were trees. She hadn't seen a single car since she'd turned down this road three miles ago. She knew that she should have listened to her father and scrapped the old truck when he'd asked her to. He had told her that this was going to happen. She should have listened. Now the only thing that she could do was get out, wander around, and hope to find a phone. But there had to be something around that area. There just had to be.
    She got out of the car, slinging her purse over her shoulder and slamming the door. The whole piece of junk shook. She kicked it again because she felt that it would make her feel better. Then, she set off down the road.
    Rosaline wasn't sure where she was, just that it was somewhere in the middle of town. There were places around but she really didn't bother paying attention to what they were or anything like that. Why would she? Her plan was to get in, do whatever it was she had to do, and then get out. Staying in no way was part of the plan, which was another reason why she didn't particularly want to associate with anyone that lived here. Upon spotting 'Katherine' she immediately shut the phone.
    Immediately she ran over to where the girl was. No one was watching so they wouldn't notice her vampire speed. "You know, it's really annoying not answering your phone when your the one who asked for someone's help," she said to the brunette. So far she hadn't quite realized that 'Katherine' was a human yet. Otherwise she might have realized what a huge mistake it was for this girl to have met her.
    ~~
    "Your such a pessimist Damon," Stefan said with a shake of his head. Ah, yes his brother was slowly returning to his former self. The bunny diet, 'good', 'holier than thou' Stefan that did everything good while he would do the bad things that often needed to be done. That was the reason he personally chose to be the one to turn Bonnie's mother a vampire in order to break the connection so the originals wouldn't be killed. He could deal with Elena being angry with him, whereas it wouldn't help his brother come back from his ripper phase if she hated him.
    "I prefer to think of it as being realistic," he smirked a bit before taking another drink. "I know, you need to cling to the hope there's some magical way to kill them and every vampire not die with them," he added. "Well let me know when you come up with something." Until then he was drink as he usually did and find cute, perky little females to feed from and compel them to forget.
    Elena Gilbert started. She had been tapping away a text to her brother Jeremy about her plans for the evening when she became aware of someone coming up behind her. Although she didn't actually frighten until she heard the voice. It was soft, like honey, and strangely familiar, hypnotic. Her hand quickly fell to her side and she turned rapidly. She didn't have any weapons on her, which was stupid, but she hadn't expected to need any.
    The sight that met her was not what she expected. While she had envision some creepy, older man with rotted out teeth and breath smelling of beer (she'd been watching too many horror movies), what she got was entirely different. Instead of a man, it was a woman. And instead of being creepy, she was regal. She held herself with confidence and poise. She was also looking at Elena like she was extremely irritated.
    Just to be sure, Elena glanced around her. There was no one else around. "Excuse me?" She asked the woman. "Are you talking to me?"
    ~~~~~

    Anna had only been walking a few minutes when her feet started to hurt. She was half tempted to take off her shoes--why had she worn heels anyway?--but discarded that thought as soon as it was there. She was walking on the road. Her feet would be filthy and cut up before she even managed to get somewhere with a phone. She was busy cursing herself when she saw it.

    There, off in the distance, was a driveway. It was all gravel at the beginning, but she could tell that it melded into pavement the further it went down. There was also a mailbox. Relief washed through her like a wave. She picked up the pace, hobbling along quickly. She just hoped that someone lived there. That thought was quickly confirmed as she rounded the bend and came into view of the house.

    It was huge, a sprawling estate that looked like it belonged in some fairytale instead of hidden deep in the woods. It was surrounded by lush lawns and looked very well-kept. Her eyes caught sight of the car in the driveway. It was old, a classic. Or so she guessed. She didn't really know cars. That was her brother's territory. It appeared that someone was home because she could see movement through a large window in the front. She hurried to the door and pounded on it.

    Rosalie watched as 'Katherine' turned around. It was almost at an annoying human pace like she hasn't expected someone to come up behind her. But then again if Katherine Pierce by miracle could be surprised she could be gone in the blink of an eye and appear behind the person who tried to surprise her. Letting that thought pass through her mind she really wasn't amused by the whole 'are you talking to me' thing.

    "I don't have time for games Katherine. Now what did you want? You know I don't like being in this country longer than I have to. Quite frankly I don't know how you manage to hide when they have so many spies here."

    ~~

    Stefan had that 'brooding Stefan look' as he liked to call it. Shaking his head he watched his brother leave the room and was probably annoyed with talking to him. Well that didn't bother him to much. It wasn't like he and Stefan were particularly close, but they were on better terms than when Damon had first arrived in Mystic Falls.

    Damon considering going out and bringing someone back home for a bite, or just using a blood bag. The former would help distract him for a bit, which would be nice. Getting up he went to go refill his almost empty and was almost tempted to go out just to do something. Before he could ponder that he heard the door. "Stefan, you ordered lunch?" He called out jokingly. With his brothers hearing he didn't need to say that to loudly for him to hear.

    Going to the door he was met with a petite brunette. "Well hello there." Had Stefan planned for someone to come over? He didn't recognize her.

    ~~

    Almost everyone was at the Mystic Grill tonight and that was no exception for the blonde vampire now entering the grill. Her boyfriend Tyler was there playing pool, but she had particularly come to spend time with her friend Bonnie. After greeting her boyfriend and talking to her friend she offered to get the two of them drinks. The fact that some people were there that were a nuisance and only caused trouble in this town was not going to affect Caroline Forbes. Many times she ignored the presence of the Michaelson's and this time didn't have to be any different.

    The bartender already knew what she tended to get, so when she went up to the bar all she had to say was 'two please'.

    Elena frowned, confusion washing over her. Nervously, she slipped her phone back in her pocket. Had this woman just called her Katherine? She was pretty sure that was what she'd heard. Then again, she was so shocked at being approached out of nowhere that she could have just been imagining it. She glanced behind her stupidly, just to check and see if the woman meant someone else. But no, Elena was the only one there. She was was staring at her with sure force that Elena knew right then than she couldn't have meant anyone else.

    Deciding that it was probably best just to play it safe, she shook her head. "I'm sorry. I think you have the wrong person." She didn't know this person, what they wanted, or why they were there. She wasn't going to reveal that she knew exactly what they were talking about. "My name isn't Katherine."

    ~~~~
    As soon as the door opened, Anna knew that she'd made a mistake.
    Her skin erupted in fire and her throat went tight. Darkness crept in at the corner's of her vision and she had to place a hand against the frame of the door to steady herself. She had never felt a rush with such power before. In that instant, she knew that she'd been greeted by a vampire. It wasn't a feeling that she could describe well. She hadn't met very many vampires in her life; she could count the total number on one hand. But she knew the feeling because her father had explained it to her. He had also explained that as soon as she felt it, she would need to run.
    But she didn't. She was too shocked. When she had left Mystic Falls a year ago, there had been no vampire activity. There had been no supernatural activity of any kind. It took her a second, but she finally made herself focus. The man who opened the door was tall with messy dark hair and even darker eyes. He was leaning against the door frame, watching her with something like amusement. Probably thinks he's just gotten a free meal, she thought angrily to herself. This always happened to her. Well, as soon as he touched her, he would know.
    She fingered the necklace at her throat nervously. "Uhm, hi." She said awkwardly. "I...well, my car...it...I was wondering if you had a phone I could use?"
    ~~~~

    Klaus was staring down into his half empty glass of beer when he felt her approach. He looked up from the warming liquid in his hands and straight into the eyes of Caroline Forbes. She didn't stare at him long. Really, it was just a quick blink. He frowned, confused at the sight of her over by the bar. Then he noticed she wasn't getting alcohol and cursed himself for even thinking something so silly. He must really be out of it.

    That was the truth. He was exhausted. It seemed lately that nothing had been going right. Pulling one over on the Salvatore's had been fun, but the joy and mirth from that was fading rapidly along with his good mood. Part of him wanted to say something to Caroline, to get her to talk to him. She was really very good at that. And then maybe he'd have something else to focus on aside from his own dark thoughts.

    "Caroline," he said, beckoning her over with a finger.

    The more the woman before her talked the more annoyed she grew. Was this some cruel joke being played on her? Katherine Pierce was good at mind games and this could very well be one of those. But she was one to talk, she could be the same exact way. A progeny learning from the best. Staring a moment longer, she was thinking the female before her was a very god actor. They were even appearing innocent in a way that she knew Katherine wasn't.

    "Fine. You want to play games? Lets play. Call me when you decide you don't want to waste me time." With that she turned away, starting to walk at a human pace. It was probably a good thing that really wasn't the vampire who made her, otherwise she probably wouldn't make it five feet away before getting lashed at. Through her annoyance it finally hit her. The all to human heartbeat of the only person she knew was on this street at the moment and the all to human scent. The girl was human? Then why did she look like Katherine's twin?

    Quickly she turned back around staring at the woman. "Who are you?" Maybe after this little talk was over she should investigate this place and see exactly what was going on in this town.

    ~~

    The way she reacted when he opened the door caused Damon to raise an eyebrow. There was something different about this girl. It kind of reminded him of Bonnie a little, but not strongly. The reason was probably because of how Bonnie was a strong witch from the Bennett line which was one well known ancestory he heard of, and knew, out of the few he had run into in the past. There were probably other lines, he just didn't know them all.

    The way she stammered about asking to use the phone did make him think she was nervous. With his feeling from a moment ago he wondered if it was something more but wasn't completely sure. "Yeah it's in the living room." Opening the door further he moved to the side. "New in town, or just passing through?" He asked nosily.

    ~~

    The family was nothing but trouble. With all they did to the loved ones of Caroline's friends in this town, it was hard for her to even look at them most of the time. While she knew Klaus did have a fondness towards her, it really didn't help to change her opinion of him. His actions just spoke to much and that wouldn't ever change as far as she was concerned. Besides, it wasn't like she could trust that he felt anything towards her anyway. With what she heard of Katherine's past with him, one needed to be very cautious. But that was different circumstances. Either way though, she wasn't exactly happy to hear him call her name.

    "Klaus," she spoke turning to the direction of the voice. Staring at him she didn't plan on moving any closer than her current position. Seeing as she was a vampire as well, she had good hearing and could pretty much hear him even from across the room. Plus she was close enough for humans to not think it was odd that she could hear him for her place by the bar.

    Elena had to bite back a little laugh. Who was she? Of all the things this woman could have asked her, that was what she had chosen? And she had even chosen it as if she thought that Elena might actually answer. Intimidation was a strange thing. Elena couldn't say for certain that she felt it from this woman, but she could say that, under different circumstances, had she been a different person and lived a different life, she might have burst into tears and told this woman whatever it was she wanted to know. But she was not that person.

    Because this woman knew Katherine, and also because of the way she carried herself, Elena knew that she was a vampire. Instead of fear, she felt a strange sense of euphoria. She placed her hand against her chest, running her fingers over the necklace full of vervain that rested there. She should be afraid. Most people that had aligned themselves with Katherine deserved fear and respect. But she wasn't. All she had to do was punch out a quick text to Stefan or Damon or Caroline, and one of them would be there in an instant.

    "Who are you?" She asked back, her voice annoyed.

    ~~~~
    "Neither," Anna said snappishly. She took a few gingerly steps into the main entrance. She looked around, taking in the scenery. Elegant tapestries and ancient looking paintings lined the walls. The hard wood flooring felt strange beneath her heeled feet and for a second she had the sense that she'd stepped into the past. But then, the spell dissipated at the sound of the man--no, vampire--coming up behind her. Immediately she was on guard. She turned around to face him, hands tight at her sides.
    "So, where's the phone?" She asked, once again cursing herself for not having her cell phone. What self-respecting teenager left the house without a phone? Also, what was wrong with her car? She'd also have to call a towing company. This was just great. She wasn't sure how the day could get any better.
    ~~~~

    So, Caroline was still pissed at him. He could tell, not just by the way she hissed his name, or by how she didn't move closer to him, but simply because he could feel it rolling off of her in waves. She was angry. He supposed, on some level, that she had right to be. But it was stupid. It needed to be done. She'd get over it eventually. He was sure of that.

    He glanced around the room, eyes catching sight of Tyler in the corner. He frowned deeply. So, she was here with him. No matter. His time was more important that Tyler's anyway. Whens he made absolutely no move to get closer to him, he stood slightly, reached over, grabbed her arm. He pulled her so that she was right next to him. "Still mad, I see?" He said in her ear.
