The Mafia's Demon Princess and The Careless Wanderer

Victoria sat at a small table on the back porch of her home. She twirled the wine glass in her hand; not a glass of wine however, it was filled with grape soda. Her father was off on a mission to assassinate some dignitary for the Don. Life's busy when your popular in the mafia. She sat there alone, feeling the breeze as it blew through her hair, taking in the sight before her; atop a hillside covered in bright green grass, leading downward into wine orchards and forest line where the beautiful towns of Italy rose and sillouhetted the horizon. "I turn ten today." she said to herself in monotone. "Best. Birthday. Ever." she continued, taking little sips of her grape soda with class, silently enjoying her pretend wine. She chuckles. "Wow. How grown up am I?" she says with sarcasm and a smile. "Ugghhhh! Get home already would ya papa?! I'm sooooo bored!" she complained aloud, swinging herself backward in her seat. Not even the company of the small creatures that often visited her from the forest would ease her boredom. She'd wag her tail, twitch her ears, take a few more sips of her pretend wine/ soda and continue to stare towards the horizon. What was she pondering, while looking so peaceful? "I wonder what time it is in Spain?" Was apparently what she was pondering. "Hehe.."

Scion wonders through the Void between realities again seeking out a world to entertain himself with maybe even collect and add to his own. The Void is objective in appearance since it has none, but to Scion it is like he is walking through and endless sea of stars. His eye is caught by a dimension not unlike his own, but with an unusually strong presence of demons. He further investigates the world and sees that there is a lot more going on then what appears on the surface. Its history riddled with conflict and world changing events. He speaks to the vast space around him in a very excited voice, "Looks like we've found a fun one Derek."

A voice like a child's, but bored in tone, reply's, "Try not to get to involved this time. The slightest interference in the wrong place could cause this world to violently veer off course."

"No promises Derek. After all I seem to have a weird way of landing right in the middle of trouble."

"I know, and it's always so fun."

In the field of grass surrounding the mansion a small black hole appears in the world. It floats a in the air about 10 feet off the ground, and is the size of a quarter. It starts to grow in size, slowly at first, then faster and faster until it was about 3 feet in diameter. A grey blurred figure emerges from the hole and falls to the ground with an audible crash. As the figure stands the blur that surrounded it disappears revealing Scion. He gets to his feet and stretches, then reaches his right arm towards the sky, and with a casual gesture causes the portal to descend and shrink. About the time the portal is floating in front of his face it is the size of a quarter again. He pops open the face of a watch he wears on his right wrist, and out of the quarter sized hole emerges a small black disk that fits into the watch along with the portal. He snaps the face of the watch shut and sounds equivalent to a computer starting up can be heard, then the face of the watch lights up and the word Derek flashes on the screen. Scion taps the watch a couple times, then say, "Hey Derek you there buddy?'

"Yes I'm fine." he replies, "Just took a minute to take a look around. It seems that we were wrong about the mansion being empty someone is up there right now, and they may have seen us."

Scion's eyes narrow and take on a more redish color, "Well I guess we'll have to convince them they saw nothing." His body tenses up and he starts making his way towards the mansion.

Victoria didn't quite react fast enough. She was leaned against her fist, propped up on the table. She sat cross legged at an angle, and continued to twirl her grape soda. "Hey boredom it was nice seeing ya but I got other guests to attend to at the moment." she spoke to herself, as an obvious look of interest found its way onto her face. She couldn't quite make out anything definitive, but nonetheless she was pretty sure she just saw some dude come into her world through a hole from who knows where. "Please don't turn out to be a crackpot seeking to destroy us all." she kind of complained aloud. She stood up and proceeded to approach the end of the porch, leaning forward and resting on the edge rail. "I'd like to be aloud to taste real wine before I die." she continued with sarcastic abandon, taking another sip of her wine/soda. She watched him. Waited. 'Now what should I do in this situation? Make first contact? Or wait for him to talk to me?' she pondered. She observed carefully, though seemed casually interested as he approached the house. "Meh....I'll see what he does then." She decided, resting her wine glass on the porch rail and laying her head on her arms, eyes glued to his form. 'Come at me bro.' she thought.

Scion approaches the mansion he see a figure start standing at the porch. The figure is small, with long wavy black hair, and seems to be staring at him. Scion's body loosens up and his eyes shift back to there usual brown orange color. He breaths a sigh of relief calls out to the girl, "Well hello there. I thought for a minute there that someone troublesome may have just seen me, but I guess my worries were misplaced." As he gets close enough to see her face he is almost speechless. The girl was incredibly cute, but even more amplified by the fact she had cute little dog ears sticking out of her head. What were the odds that he would run into a demon not more then a few minutes after arriving. "Wait this is a problem. Demons are often much older then they appear, and some even take the form of a child to trick humans. I better be careful."

Scion gives her a 20 dollar smile and introduces himself with a bow, "Greetings little demon girl. I am Scion. May I ask you your name?"

Victoria stares at him blankly. 'Scion,huh? Weird name.' she thought to herself. His way of introducing himself kinda pissed her off though. But she remained intrigued. "Name's Victoria." she greeted with a light smile. "Mind if I ask why your here?" she paused for a moment. "Or why your talking to me with that fake smile and obvious over acting?" She reaches out to him to shake his hand. "And...there's no need to bow either. You're really over doing it."

Scion twitches a bit at her comment, but doesn't miss a beat as he shakes her hand, "Well you demons tend to be the eccentric type from my experiences, and so exaggerate greetings are just a standard. I'm not sure if I should tell you what I am until I know a little more about you. I know it's rude to ask someone about themselves before sharing your own details, but l'll be honest I'm worried you might be an ancient physco demon that manipulates the hearts of men and wants to control me for your personal gain. Is that the case?" He gives her a perplexed look.

Victoria lets go of his hand. She narrows her eyes. "I don't...quite....know.." she answered. "I'm for sure not a psycho demon....I'm only ten years old....and while it is part of my profession to manipulate people in order to gain information and means of blackmail, I only do so when it's assigned to me as a mission or I find myself in a situation where the situation calls for it." She stops for a second. "In other words......maybe..." she finishes. However, shortly after this mini rant, she finds herself a bit agitated. "And what do you mean "you demons"?" she snapped. "Don't lump us together like we're all the same. I'm only half demon ya know." she spouts somewhat angrily. "Rude much."

Scion calms down as she rant, and even smiles when she starts to pout. "She's so cute." He thinks to himself. "Well sorry experience is experience, so if you wanted to make a different impression don't great my like an aristocrat next time. Which reminds me I need to reintroduce myself, so you have the right impression of me. Derek the usual intro, no actually use the big one."

"Really? OK whatever."

Scion jumps backwards then takes a deep breath, then speaking in a loud voice as if speaking to an audience he introduces himself, "Greetings Victoria I am Scion the Master of Reality!" What sounds like a trumpet is heard. "I hail from the void of space and time seeking out new worlds to explore. so congratulations" Tons of Fire works shoot out of his sleeves into the air, "For I have you chosen your world as my next stopping point." thunderous applause and cheering is heard. "Thank you, Thank you. So tell me Victoria would you like to reintroduce yourself." He raises and eyebrow at her and gives her a devious grin. All his emotions were genuine now.

Victoria pops a mischeviously crooked smile. "Your funny magic man." she says with a light chuckle. "Welcome to my world, I guess. My name's victoria, and I am a half demon living with my adoptive father." She begins to show honest hospitality as she goes on. "Would ya like a drink maybe? Or a tour the grounds?" she leans in closer. "Can you share any deep dark secrets of the universe with me? Or is that taboo?" she whispers. That last part came out a bit sarcastic, but despite this she is actually quite interested in her new quest. At this thought, something else came to mind. 'Well, he's better than being alone.' She offers her hand once again. "Would you like to spend the day with me? It's my birthday, and I don't have anyone to celebrate it with at the moment." She smiles one of her natural smiles. "I made lots of sweets." her tail wags. 'He's a little weird, and not completely trust worthy. Buuuut I like 'em anyway.' she thinks to herself. "How 'bout it?" she asks him, tilting her head and twitching her ears for the cutest effect.

Scion's mood brighten considerably from the girls change in attitude, "Well I'd be happy to spend the day with you. As for secrets of the universe...Well there all stupidly complicated." He give her a big goofy smile, but frowns for a moment, "Wait if it's your birthday. Where is your guardian? I mean it's your birthday, so he has no excuse missing such an important day." Scion stands with his arms crossed, then snaps his fingers as if an idea occurred to him, "Well since it's your birthday, then as a gift I offer you one favor. That doesn't sound like much, but a favor from me can be like a wish. So anything you want and I will do everything in my power to grant it."

Derek speaks in a whisper, "Come on Scion. Are you really trying to impress another little girl. You know she isn't gonna have s..." Scion slams his hand over the watch muffle the rest of the words in case the girls ears were better then human.
