Vampires have lived among humans for centuries and to this day, their true identities have never been revealed. To avoid this from happening, a vampire must choose a human 'companion' so to speak. One human to get their blood supply from and to meet whatever other needs they might have. From first bite, a connection forms between the vampire and human. A bond usually develops, displayed mainly in the human at the beginning but slowly the vampire too will become a little affectionate towards their human. After all, the human becomes 'theirs' once they're bitten and vampires tend to be a little possessive of their property. It is important to note, however, that vampires are not expected to fall in love with their human. It is not something that is highly regarded in their society but there are always those willing to push what is expected of them. While it is not necessary a law - there are vampires that will hunt down and take action against those that consider their humans to be anything more than a food source.

Every year the newly changed vampires - and those who's humans have gone past there sell by date - attend a dance. One in which they are expected to find a human to last them for the next few years. The unsuspecting humans receive an invitation in the mail, telling them they have been selected above all others to attend the annual masquerade ball. A invitation many would die for.

You have been officially invited to attend the Harrison Masquerade Ball this Friday evening at eight in Mr. D Harrison's estate. This invitation is valid only for the person who's name is stated above. No further guests will be permitted to enter the grounds as this is a private event. Formal wear is essential. There will be a buffet and open bar at the ball and a prize for the most elegantly dressed lady and gentleman.
We look forward to seeing you this Friday evening.

Important Note:
These vampires can go out into sunlight but it weakens them a considerable amount and it's only direct sunlight that weakens them. If they spend too long in it they may die. The older they are the longer they can spend in the sun. They can be killed only by other vampires though humans can hurt them with sharp wood. They can change a human into a vampire by sharing their blood with the human. They don't need to sleep but sometimes do if they've been hurt or they're thirsty. They're stronger, faster and over all more powerful then humans. They do not have any powers. A human does not need to die for a vampire to cast them aside and get a new one.

When being bitten and fed from, a human will either feel intense pleasure or pain. They will form a strong bond with the vampire who has bitten them and this bond will not break unless the vampire feeds from a different human. The vampires will give the humans a drink after they have fed from them called Leerah. This will help the humans regain energy and help their blood cells multiply so they don't die from lack of blood, being fed from so often.

• Please make a girl and a guy to keep genders even. One should be human and the other a vampire.
• Be prepared to write at least a decent sized paragraph per reply.
• Absolutely no text talk or one liners.
• No need to ask to join, just let me know what you're making and I'll approve it or not once it's done.
• Drama is welcome IC. The more the better. PM me if you think of any major plot twists.
• No god-modding, killing off or changing other people's characters into vampires without their permission.

Name: Lydia August Rosetta

Personality:
Lydia likes being able to do things for herself because she hates owing anyone anything. She doesn't like to be in debt because then a person can hold it over her and that leaves her at a disadvantage. She's a strong person and doesn't like people to think otherwise. She hates appearing as weak and vulnerable so she keeps her fears to herself. She exudes confidence to compensate for any insecurities she thinks that people might pick up on. She's quite good at being able to convince people of whatever she likes. Her persuasive aura seems to draw people in and she's an excellent liar when it's required. She's also a terrible flirt. She plays the giggly, innocent, role just as good as the seductive, powerful, lady.

Lydia also hates not finishing something that she's started and this also comes down to pride and a little bit of stubbornness. She doesn't like to admit defeat or say that she can't do something. This trait makes her a hard and relentless worker but it's not always a good thing. She can burn herself out quickly and if she get's frustrated with herself it's best to avoid her. She's got a temper and tends to take it out on those closest to her, even if it's not their fault. She's got a bit of a mouth on her and a sharp tongue once she's all riled up.

Although Lydia sometimes has a hard shell, there's also a gooey caramel centre. Of course she doesn't let just anyone see her softer side; just those that she's really close to. While she acts as though little effects her, she's really more emotional than she let's on. If she's upset about something she'll bottle up all soppy emotions until she can deal with them alone. She doesn't want to look vulnerable and weak in front of people, even her close friends. She doesn't mind shedding a few tears at a sad movie or something silly like that, but when it matters and she's really hurting, she'll keep it to herself.

If you have her on your side, you know that Lydia wont let you down. If you have ever helped her out when she was in need she'll never forget it and will do her very best to repay the favour. She's the kind of person that will always project what's been projected onto her. She can be very sweet and pleasant, providing that the people she's dealing with are the same in turn. If they're undeserving of her respect, she wont give it to them. In a sense she fights fire with fire. She gives out what she gets whether that be total acceptance or a snide remark.

Lydia never knew her parents. She was given to an orphanage when she was two months old and has been in and out of foster homes ever since. She got one well with her last foster family but as soon as she turned eighteen she moved out and into her own own place, wanting to be independent and not have to rely on anyone anymore. In other words, nobody will miss her. She's a perfect candidate for the ball.

Lydia is an excellent pianist and can play beautifully. She spends a lot of her free time playing or composing new pieces, if she's not curled up with a book or listening to music. She's also extremely claustrophobic and it's the one thing that will completely break her down. The idea of being trapped for any amount of time in a small space completely terrifies her. Not many people know about this fear because she hates feeling weak and powerless and is afraid people will use it against her.

She hates the smell of cigarettes and can't stand it when someone lights up around her. She'll promptly develop a coughing fit to show her displeasure. It's just one of those things that she really can't stand.

Lydia has a rune tattoo on the back of her neck. It means fearless; a reminder not to be afraid to say no to others and not to be afraid to say yes to herself.

Name: Lee Evan Azekial
Nickname: He doesn't respond well to nicknames.
Age: Physically twenty two; though he's really one hundred and nine.
Human/Vampire: Vampire
Personality:
Lee has a short temper and can be very quick to anger and slow to calm. He's ruthless and passionate and will not hesitate to fight for something that be believes in, or something that he wants, even if it means making sacrifices along the way. If he can get his way, then he will do it, often regardless of the consequences or the position it might leave him in. Loyalty means a lot to him and it's not wise to stab him in the back. He's not the kind to forgive and forget. He tends to hold a grudge and he's not a person who's bad side you want to be on. He's not afraid to hurt people to keep his secrets secret, or to protect himself. In fact, he quite enjoys when people are afraid of him. His already large ego feeds off of it, boosting his confidence in whatever he's doing. He likes to have a focus, something to aspire towards. Don't let that be ending your life. You only get one chance and if you blow it, then tough luck. You're finished. If Lee doesn't get his way he gets incredible moody and will either go sulk by himself or take it out on the nearest person. He can be a little bit of a child from time to time.

Lee is a quick thinker and a very good liar. He knows just how to sweet talk himself into or out of any situation. This always comes in handy with the ladies or if he's trying to swindle someone out of a lot of money. He likes to think of himself as, simply, a very convincing storyteller. If people don't know about his reputation then that's not his fault. He's sarcastic and arrogant most of the time and can be both seductive and cruel depending on what kind of humor he's in and who he's dealing with.

Lee isn't a big fan of following the rules and he certainly doesn't like being told what to do or what he can and can't have, unless of course the order is coming from Mr. Harrison. Still, even then he'll let his dissatisfaction be known if he doesn't agree with what he's been asked to do. He's incredibly stubborn and he's not about to admit he's wrong unless he's really, really sure. Even then, it's always a struggle. His pride doesn't like taking a beating. He's relentless when there's something he wants and he wont stop until he gets it. Besides, he always gets what he wants, one way or another... What's a few lifeless bodies as long as he's happy in the end? Selfish, perhaps, but he's not about to waste all of his energy on making other people happy. If they're not strong enough to keep themselves alive then maybe they don't deserve to live.

There are a few people that Lee will actually listen to because he always thinks that he knows best. He tries to pretend that nothing affects him but everyone has their weaknesses. He isn't as tough as he thinks he is and he's a lot more easy to read once you get to know him. He likes to think that he doesn't need anyone else but deep down he knows that's not true. He's lost his way but that doesn't mean that someone can't help him find it again. When he does get close to someone, which doesn't happen often, he let's his guard down a lot more. He can be gentle and considerate when he wants to be and if you are someone that he cares about you know he'll do his best to be his best for you and keep you safe. It's his passionate side coming out again.

Lee was changed into a vampire when he was twenty two in the year 1904. He never knew his maker and so was rather wild when he awoke, going on random killing sprees and a complete slave to bloodlust. Luckily, Mr. Harrison took him in and showed him how a vampire should behave and how he could still feed without attracting unwanted attention or actually killing all of the humans in sight. Once he'd become tamer and more sophisticated, Mr. Harrison gave Lee a human and told him she would be his until he no longer needed her. Lee's latest human recently passed her years of use and so he's now looking for another young girl to be his.

Lee has never been in love before and though he was fond of his last human, he never felt anything romantic towards her. He doesn't believe that vampires should fall in love with humans and he's unaware it might just happen to him.

Personality:
There are many facets of Estelle's personality. Regarding her interaction with others, Etelle can behave rather playfully. She exhibits a somewhat seductive nature in order to get her way. This approach can seem childish to many, and it is. She uses her charm and playful manner to her advantage. Those who know her well know not to fall for her trickery. Despite this seemingly flirtatious attitude, Estelle is very down to earth. She is a realist and views the world somewhat through a pessimistic lens. Her playfulness is simply a coping mechanism to distract her from her harsh outlook on reality. Aside from this, when dealing with people Estelle can be blunt. She doesn't sugarcoat anything and is quite opinionated. She never fails to insert her opinion and enjoys getting involved in all sorts of discussions. Though talkative, Estelle shies away from confrontation and any sort of conversation that antagonizes her. She can be easily offended, but doesn't always voice it.

Estelle has a tendency to get bored easily. She is initially very enthusiastic and almost too invested, but all of that simply vanishes as time passes. Her realist perspective can make Estelle cold and desensitized. At times it leaves her feeling melancholic and lonely. She has a naturally dark aura that may intimidate others. She welcomes peoples' fear and thinks of it as an advantage. Estelle would rather have people feel uneasy around her than comfortable. It keeps things interesting. She is not especially caring and shows no sympathy toward other people. Estelle is just too disconnected when it comes to emotions. She doesn't understand her own feelings half of the time anyway. When trust is presented, Estelle has a hard time giving it. It is partly because she herself is not at all a person whom one can trust. She's too sly and charming and secretive. There are a select few whom she would never betray, but those relationships were planted decades ago and had taken many years to grow.
When it comes to things like romance and love, Estelle doesn't believe in them.

As an eternal entity, she doesn't think that love can last. To her, it is more of an intense emotion. Something that is temporary, and is meant to be enjoyed and reaped of all of its beauty before discarded. She is much more familiar with lust. Her past relationships with humans had always involved at least some level of intimacy. She never took them seriously, only ever having genuine affection for other fellow vampires. Even that was a temporary, fleeting emotion.

On her own, Estelle can be rash. She doesn't take the time to think things through clearly, as she is quite impatient with the world. She lets responsibilities pile up and abandons them when they become to burdening. Call it a bad habit.

Other: Estelle hardly remembers life as a human. It was just a blink in on a time line, like an old fairy tale. She hardly ever thinks of her past. It was an uneventful time. The daughter of a shoemaker. She had always been a sickly girl and when an infection threatened her life a mysterious man had shown up and offered her the chance of eternal living. Why not? Estelle has no regrets.
