Another night in Nocturnal Sanguine, one of the finest alcoholic establishments in town come nightfall. The reasons were simple enough. Its owner and bartender, as well as the sole waitress working there, were vampires who had been around for a very long, even by vampire standards. The owner - named Leo King for the last couple dozen milennia - was particularly good company to have for both vampires and humans alike. His stories were plentiful, his sense of dark humor quite a hit in the bar, and his policy of caring for vampires and their victims should they need it was legendary. The bar itself was mostly a dark red to compliment the tips of Leo's hair, with much of the furniture painted black with silver linings. The silver was fake, of course, but it didn't shine any less than the real thing.
"So then she jumps up, and says surprise, it's me, the bus driver!" The punchline of Leo's favorite joke of the century - an especially dirty one about a hippie, a bus driver, and a nun - roused more than a bit of laughter around the bar. It was getting to be about 11 at night. This was when the bar really came alive; from now until it closed at 5 in the morning. While the nocturnal hours made human patronage a little less common (which Leo didn't understand at all) it was great for a vampire-heavy clientele. But Leo's favorite thing about this place was clear when one knew all the regulars. Without even knowing it, humans and vampires sat at the same tables with one another, drinking and laughing together. That kind of thing becoming worldwide was Leo's dream, but for now, this bar was a nice start.
