    Titanomachy

This idea is based on Silux’s original OP Team Battle- However I have toned it down to powerful but not god-like beings, which makes the fights more enjoyable and probably keep people interested in it a little longer. I have added rules which the original added midway through. Of course there will be teams the Gods and the Titans, the teams do not need to be equal since the rules allow for mismatched fights. Looking to see who may be interested in this.

    Titanomachy-

The thousand-year war between the Gods and the Titans. The eternal Titans having tired of the arrogance of the immortal Gods, decided to amass their forces and wage war against the upstarts. This war has ravaged a hundred worlds across the deeps of space.

Now the Gods and the Titans have turned their attention to a world that has a hidden artifact upon it, an artifact that can change the course of the war. Both sides have dispatched their mightiest warriors to gain the item, denying it from the other.

This arena RP will pit teams of mid-to-high-tier characters against one another for the acquisition of the artifact.

    General Combat Guidelines and Absolution:

Combat is to be conducted following T1 Eden era Rules

This is a powered T1 (PR T1) tier 6-8 combat-based event. If the submitted character does not fit into this bracket, it will be denied. If asked to remove a power set and you refuse it will be denied.

Fights Will Default To These Basic Rules:

    - Closed posts

Attacks must make logical sense, and must be completed in a second post after the opponent has had the opportunity to attempt an equally logical avoidance.

    - Equality of posts and preparations (preps)

The attack (or defense) strength is equal to the number of posts made for that action. All individual posts are equal in strength, but posts can be stacked if you clearly state that you are preparing for an action.

A grab is counted as an attack and must take two posts.

Exception: A grab may be counted in a single post if contact is preexisting.

A lock must be preceded by a grab, and consist of one extra post.

Objects (arms, legs, weapons) break after 2 successive targeted attacks to the same object, or 2 consecutive posts through which targeted pressure is applied (to a joint or otherwise) with a lock.

To make this clear, targeted attacks are interpreted as follows-

    tr.v. tar•get•ed, tar•get•ing, tar•gets
    1. To make a target of.
    2. To aim at or for.
    3. To establish as a target or goal.

Parry, block or otherwise redirected attacks by using your weapon is not a targeted hit by your opponent unless they specifically declare they are trying to hit your weapon/armor or body part.

Ranged attacks must take an extra post to close distance with the projectile. (Arrows, Bullets, Fireballs...) This means they do not connect in the post they are written in.

Minions or summoned creatures are as following. Only one minion is of 2/3 the casters strength (in this case a tier 4 minion), the rest are considered tier 1 creatures. All minions can be auto hit except the 2/3 tier minion which is controlled by the casting player. But it cannot be the creature that deals the killing blow. Nor is it's damage overwhelming to the PC facing it.

    Absolutes:

Actions are voided if the poster cannot accurately explain them within the post.

Your writing clarity is the sole vehicle for you to control your character, and the lack of sufficient clarity in your post will result in the post being declared invalid.

If you use an ability that is beyond the scope of reality, you will be expected to provide ample information in your post on the way the ability works.

Failure to explain your movements and actions will likely result in misinterpretation of your intent, you have been warned.

Obfuscation of your writing is unacceptable. If your posts cannot be understood by everyone involved it will be voided. You must write clearly.

The writer who cares more about words than about characters, action, setting, and atmosphere is unlikely to create a vivid and continuous dream; he gets in his own way too much; in his poetic drunkenness, he can't tell the cart- and its cargo- from the horse.

Of worldly life, let him who can win
glory before he dies: that lives on
after him, when he lifeless lies."

I just want to see how many people are interested before I make an OOC and have people post characters. But I take it you are interested.

Alright, I'll set the OOC then. Two is enough to start it off.

I'm interested =3 Quick question, can 'procedural' or follow-up posts be used if we want to? Sometimes including information about what the character would do 'if or when' can save a lot of time, and still leaves room for 'logical avoidance', it just entails the person doing the procedural addition to their post not bitch if half the post becomes a waste of time because it was dodged or something XD I like to use that method to help fights progress faster.

Umm, no I have laid out the rules for the fight. T1 is what I prefer and what I use when I host or run something. I do state I prefer closed posts for damage because it makes it easier but that's it. The "I would do X if they do X" is not permitted.
