All of the food was being cooked finally, and Eura washed her hands as she waited for the first thing to be done, and she sighed a bit, looking at her hands. She couldn't cry. She wanted to, but something in her would not allow herself to cry. Perhaps it was the same thing that caused her to not want to be here. The same thing that haunted her all the time. The fact that she was no different than the others. She had become cold, callous, heartless it seemed. She was brought back to reality when her phone vibrated next to her gun, and she pulled it out of its slot and read the message. Meet Gerald? At the pub? Really? She re-read the message a few times before she sighed and sent a message back.
She'd be able to think of something to tell her father and she would park her car down the street, so if her father sent someone out to find her, which he had never done before but Eura always thought he would. The message she went to sent back she read a few times back to herself before finally sending it.
I've got to do a few things before I can head out again. Wait for me? Should be there in about an hour.
The timer went off right after she sent the message, and she quickly took the food out of the oven and began plating it, seeing her father, grandfather, and Robert come in. "Where's Emily?" Eura asked her father, trying to get on the topic of her doing something.
"Emily? She went out with Ricard. He's been taking care of her today, she just didn't want to be at home today. I'm surprised you did." her father answered. Really? Would it be that easy to escape the house and go drink? Maybe she could just hitch a ride with someone and call them to pick her up when she was done.
"Had to make you guys dinner, didn't I?" she reminded him and he gave her a look. "But, father, I want to head out. Be alone for a while." she said and he nodded.
"Of course, honey. I'll have Dean drive you. He's got to head into town to pick up more wine anyway." her father said and her grandfather gave her a look when she nodded.
"Thank you, father. I'll put mine and Emily's plates in the fridge before I leave. I am going to change. I don't want to make a mess of my nice clothes." she said, and she kissed her father's cheek before she placed her and her sister's plates in the fridge and headed up to her room to change. She slipped out of her skirt and into a pair of dark jeans, leaving on her blouse as she pulled on a cropped jacket that had been specially made. She tucked her phone in her pocket and she tucked her pistol and an extra magazine in the pocket of her jacket before she grabbed her umbrella and headed out to the car that was waiting for her. She realized, quickly, that she had merely slid on her heels from earlier, but that didn't matter much.
She texted Gerald.
Change in plans. Be there soon. she texted and she heard the thunder rumble overhead and she pulled her hair over her shoulder and played with it. When the driver stopped she opened her umbrella and got out of the car and walked into the pub, sitting in the corner furthest to the back, and she waited for Gerald to show up, sending him another text telling him she was inside. She felt odd, and she kept her concealed gun just that way. Concealed. There was no need for her to get shot for carrying.
