Run. (Fantasy Victorian-style RP idea thing.)

This idea has been hopping around in my mind for quite some time like an overly caffeinated bunny who just got a new pair of socks. I haven't been able to find a RP based in a Victorian-fantasy environment lately, so I decided to make one myself and see how it turns out. As the old saying goes, a watched pot never boils... wait a minute....

From what I've constructed thus far (plot-wise); A group of people witness a hidden event involving cruel and unusual magic (possibly a resurrection/ritual of some sort) that they shouldn't have. The event was lead by an secretive seemingly-nameless cult that aims to 'purify' the world (haven't exactly figured out their devious plan as of yet). Soon after the players witness the ritual/event (possibly a few days after) the cultists somehow figure out that someone else was there and begin to actively hunt the group of players down to prevent them from revealing the cult and ruining their plans. Luckily another secretive group, known only as the Watchful, discover this and offer the player group protection from the cultists if they agree to travel with them (the Watchful) to the capital city as proof to expose the cult and end it's grotesque ways once and for all. The hard about this plan is that the cultists are practically everywhere and hide in plain sight, so the players will have to be 'smuggled' from location to location.

Setting: The RP will take place in a fictitious and heavily civilized region (Or country, if you prefer that term) known as the Third District, run mainly by humans yet the other species of the world still thrive there as well. And although the 'district' is heavily civilized, many natural lands and areas still remain intact (like forests, caverns, lakes, etc).

More about the cult: As stated in the basic plot, the cultists are incredibly skilled in the ways of deception and stealth. Why, your local butcher could be a member, or the traveling doctor, or even the newspaper writer's apprentice. You can never be completely sure of who's working with the cultists and who's not. The cult is said to have been around for many many years, possibly even before the beginning of the Third District. Their exact intentions are currently unknown, though it's fairly certain that their intentions are not for the greater good.

    More about the Watchful:
Another incredibly stealthy group that was formed in the early days of the Third District (centuries ago) to enforce the laws of the government, but have since then broken away and started fulfilling their own desires and secretly enforcing what they believe is right. Not much else is known about them. All that is known is that they are nearly extinct with only around 150 active members scattered about the district, but what they lack in numbers they more than make up for in loyalty, honor, and efficiency.

Please keep in mind this this a basic version of the plot, I can go into more detail if need be. Also, suggestions, opinions, and ideas are greatly appreciated.

EDIT: The OOC is up! Check it out if you're interested ---> http://roleplayerguild.com/showthrea...36#post8480336

Regardless if you liked my idea or not, thanks for reading!

Glad to see people are interested. When I get the chance to, I'll work more on the plot and setting (probably in half an hour or so). Again, any ideas and suggestions are welcome guests in this hotel. (A weird way of phrasing it but you get the idea.)

I'm currently working on creating the OOC, which should be up sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, I've added a few more details to the main post above, such as the basic setting, more about each of the groups, etc.
