Mass Effect: First Contact

The basic idea of this is a galaxy wide war that takes place forty years after the end of the Reaper war against invaders from another galaxy (the Andromeda galaxy, specifically.) Given the number of flaws in all of them, this RP would not take any of the canon endings and instead would have the Reapers being defeated by the sacrifice of Commander Shepard without destroying the Geth or severely damaging the galaxy. The enemy, who are called the Mestor, are highly advanced, though not as advanced as the Reapers. Since we do not have a deus ex device like the Crucible to defeat them all at once, however, it will be a purely conventional war.

The Mestor have advanced to the point where they can, through technological means, transfer their consciousnesses into whatever bodies they need, organic or synthetic, so they can take on many forms. We will start immediately before the invasion, and our characters will be the ones to discover the threat. In the years since the war, there have been many technological advances reverse engineered from Reaper tech, so you can be creative with weapons and other equipment. There have also been social changes, such as the fact that all races now have a seat on the council, with the exception of the Vorcha (and the Drell, since they still live on the Hanar homeworld.)
