    Zane Birthkeeper vs. Arcus

*I hope you don't mind the gap in the logic, but somehow there's actually sound in space here*

Two asteroids collide, sending chunks of debris across the scattered field. Arcus looks on from just outside the cloud of space rocks, standing on a platform made only of a rainbow. He senses another presence nearby. A cosmic presence more powerful than any he's ever faced before. Arcus decides to investigate, and see if this power means any harm to the balance of power. Slowly, lazily, he floats forward into the asteroid cloud. He raised his hand and sent a small flare of yellow light from his palm at a smaller rock, causing it to rebound and knock into a cluster of larger rocks and disturbing the entire breadth of the field. Arcus keeps his eyes peeled for any sign of unnatural movement, or lack thereof, and floats further into the cloud.

A disturbance... A being with the capability to destroy that which he tried to keep in balance... Zane could not allow such a creature to survive. Swishing across the asteroid field, he leaped from rock to rock, his slender form like a shadow in the mist of dust and pebbles. He was watching, for now. He had no interest to attack yet, and truth be told, he did fear the man quite a bit, as he feared most confrontations. Although he had a large amount of essence store up from years past, he was still cautious- He had no idea what kind of creature or being this was, or what its strengths and weaknesses were, if any. Instead, he chose to watch, and stare carefully... As well as see what the creatures mental capacity was.

With a slight wave of his hand, he sent an invisible force at the man. Was this man weak of heart, the feeling of incredible peace and relaxation would be sent through his body like a shock-wave, hopefully lowering his guard for a moment.

Arcus suddenly feels ever so light a ripple of energy reverberate around him and against the flowing energies of his armor, and he immediately halts all movement and raises his guard. Was someone trying to attack him with so weak a wave? No, it had to be some sort of sensory presence, like an arcwhale's energy sonar. Oh, the tales he could tell of his adventures with arcwhales...

Arcus quickly pulls his mind back to the moment and summons his trusty sword and shield, forged of the precious rainbow stone, and scanned the area, summoning all the energy in the area into small pockets in different parts of the feild. Maybe he could confuse this other force. Throw off the scent of his power. At least he could take in the energy if he ever needed to recharge.

Was this what was called... A trick? Multiple signals, radiating out from the area... But by what? Or better yet, who?

It had to have been, and by doing that, he left his guard down. At least, Zane hoped. Shifting his arm out, a massive, 7 foot long greatsword came to life in his right hand, and after pushing off an asteroid nearby, he quickly took the chance to charge forward from the rocks, swinging his sword in one massive arc in an attempt to destroy the creature where it stood.

Arcus smiled to himself indignantly as he finally spotted his adversary, when he caught sight of a single asteroid being pushed against the current of the field. He pointed his hand at the now-charging person and released a single beam of blue light, that he hoped would make his movements slightly sluggish. As the beam faded and he saw the blade of a large great sword approaching him, Arcus launched himself forward like a missile of light toward his attacker, holding his shield in front of him and expanding it into a wall of energy.

    * Haha, I just read over this again. I swear I imagined Cloud Strife charging at me with his buster sword, and I thought 'I'm screwed.' *

Zanes charge was slowed, if only slightly, by a beam of blue light. His own energy mixed and vitalized, creating a blinding flash of light. From the flash, the male rocketed forward, his sword meeting the shield head on. The impact of the two blades created a force field of energy around the two for a moment, before exploding in another brilliant flash. Flipping backwards, Zane landed on a meteor, with only half a blade in his hand- The other half having broken in the collision with the mighty shield.

Slowly, the blade reformed in his hand, the broken parts forming back into a long edged blade, before evaporating completely like dust in the space-wind. It seemed this creature was stronger then they appeared. Leaping from his asteroid, he once again took charge, this time, clenching his hand.

Suddenly, large, golden chains would wrap themselves around the warrior. They would probably break easily under pressure, but for now, they wrapped around the arms and limbs of the warrior, seeming to connect with nothing, as if they were summoned from portals.

Once that had been done, Zane would use this chance to burst forward at a quicker speed, hoping to use the after effect of the chains, the slowing and dampening of powers, to give him the chance to smash into the male with his sword in long, clean cuts.

Arcus' frontal charge was halted as he crashed against the man's sword, and staggered backward an inch as he recovered from the impact. He shook off the jarring blow in an instant and immediately propelled himself straight upward as the man began a new assault toward him, leaving a solid wall of red light behind him.

"Little game of bull dodging," he chuckled to himself. He hoped the man wouldn't be able to stop himself, and would crash into the wall of energy.

Arcus flew upward another moment, then angled around and charged forward, sword held in front of him, where he hoped the man would have been stopped.
