Pythe woke to the dull fluorescent light of the daylight bulbs. It's uncovered brilliance casting a blinding glare upon her closed eyelids. Residing on a spaceship meant no real daylight, the only other light to be found was in the far away stars, instead daylight was simulated with the use of different hued light bulbs. This made for a rather abrupt awakening to most crew members on the ship, with the exception of a select few who more often than not never actually resided in their set quarters. Placing a callused hand, pale from the absence of actual sunlight, over her eyes, Pythe made to remove herself from the warm bedding. Golden brown curls spilling over her shoulders in an untamed wave while dark green eyes stared sleepily into the distance. The cold metal floors a shock to warmth infused extremities as she moved about the small enclosure that housed the bare necessities for comfortable living on a starship. Pulling on tattered pants and shirt, Pythe donned her most prized piece of clothing, a long jacket that contained many zippered pockets that housed the various tools and small tech pieces that she used in her work. As an engineer, it was her job to help keep the ship running smoothly, well as smoothly as possible for lack of appropriate parts, and the decrepit shape it was in.
A familiar crackling buzz came on over the dilapidated intercoms signaling the desire of the ship's captain Sotiris for a meeting of some sort with the crew. Stepping out into the lit hall, Pythe saw many other heads poking out from their small cubicles, some still cleaning the grit from their sleep swollen eyes. Striding briskly down the hallway towards the promise of breakfast and news of what was to happen next on their journey, Pythe greeted some other crew members, occasionally speaking in a language not of human origin. Taking her place besides an Apahti female with dark grey fur, her soft scrunched face containing light blue orbs set in deep sockets, Pythe observed some of their crew mates settling down in their respective places. "Do you know what this meetings about?" Pythe questioned quietly. "I'm not sure, It probably has something to do with the status of things on the ship, rations and the sort if I had to guess." Shuanti replied. "Hopefully it will be about how we are going to stop at a planet to restock on oxygen, food, and water. What I wouldn't do for a shower." Pythe sighed dreamily. "I can't understand what you humans like about showers, or water in general other than drinking it. Just the thought of water anywhere on me is a most disturbing thought. I would lose all my natural oils!" Pythe laughed quietly and rolled her eyes at Shuanti's dislike of anything wet. With most of the crew gathered it wouldn't be long before the captain addressed them, so Pythe and Shuanti settled down to wait quietly for the beginning of the meeting.
