    Mass Effect: First Contact (OOC)

The Galaxy since the Reaper War:

It has been forty years since the fall of the Reapers, and galactic civilization has been steadily rebuilding. Every species faced terrible losses at the hands of the Reapers, but with the alliances forged though the war, and with technology reverse engineered from the Reapers, the galaxy now seems to be moving into a new golden age. Humans, Turians, Asari, Salarians, Geth, Quarians, Krogan, Elcor, Volus, Hanar, and even Batarians now all have representatives on the Council, with no major wars being fought since the end of the Reaper war. Medical advances and other technological innovations derived from Reaper tech has improved the life expectancy of short lived species like Salarians and Humans by almost double, in some cases, while the life spans of species like Asari and Krogan have improved by a smaller, but still significant amount. Diplomacy and peace have been the defining ideals of the past few decades. Rebuilt cities have risen across countess worlds throughout Citadel space, and more settlements are being created every year. Through this time of expansion and prosperity, it is hard for many to imagine that it could all come to an end, but just beyond the reaches of the galaxy, a new threat is emerging, one that will test the strength of these united races.

    ------

The enemy we will be facing are called the Mestor. They are a technologically advanced extragalactic civilization who have advanced to the point where they can transfer their consciousnesses into any synthetic or organic body they can create. Since this RP takes place 40 years after the Reaper war, technology has been advanced by reverse engineered Reaper tech, so most weapons from the Mass Effect series would be out of date. You may decide to simply upgrade existing weapons (such as by adding a cooling system that combines the in-gun cooling tech from ME1 with the thermal clip system), or you can create weapon ideas of your own. Just be sure to keep the ideas reasonable, and logical within the universe. Our characters are members of a newly formed joint-species initiative to investigate and neutralize threats to any of the Council races. You may decide to begin as someone who is already a part of this initiative, either by being appointed by a government or volunteering, or you may start anywhere in the galaxy doing whatever you want. The first task of the characters who are already part of this initiative will be to go out into the galaxy and collect people to help with the mission from a list of potential candidates. Keep in mind that, if you start on your own, your character would need to have done something notable to be on that list.

I encourage creativity with characters and equipment and am open to suggestions if you have any ideas. Since the Mestor can take on any synthetic or organic form, I would be glad to take any suggestions you may have. If you have an idea for a form they could take, please link it in this thread.

    The Legacy:

In terms of the ship's specifications, it was a Turian vessel that had been created in the wake of realization of the effectiveness of stealth ships. The vessel was named 'Legacy', due to it's outdated systems. In terms of armaments, the Legacy features a pair of Thanix Magnetic-Hydrodynamic cannons, one placed beneath each wing of the ship. With a battery of Javelin disruptor torpedo launchers at the ship's bow. Allowing the vessel to strike hard, and fast.

It is kept protected by it's central material, which are armour plates consisting of carbon nanotube sheets woven with diamond chemical vapor deposition for incredible durability. In short, it is a redesigned variant of the Asari Silaris heavy armour. Redesigned for slightly increased durability. It's kinect barriers however, aren't particularly strong, this allows the Legacy to enter a planet's atmosphere to make drops or even to land. Like all stealth ships, the Legacy is able to sink it's heat within the hull. This combined with refrigeration of the exterior hull, allows the ship to travel undetected for hours.

    In terms of transportation capacity, the Legacy is able to carry within it's cargo hold enough supplies for a crew of thirty to last a year at most. As well as keeping enough room for a Mako tank and a pair of Kodiak dropships. It has toilet and showering facilities for it's occupants, with a mess hall and two crew quarters. As well as a seperate room for officers. Thus the Legacy contains the following rooms;

    Bridge Deck:

    Bow - Cockpit
    Starboard Bow - Communications room
    Stern - Munitions Room
    Port Bow - Armoury
Center of Deck - Operations Centre (Galaxy Map, Navigation terminals, Weapons Systems. Etc, etc.)

    Crew Deck:

    Bow - Research Center
Starboard Bow - Crew Quarters 1
    Stern - Male/Female Bathrooms
Port Bow - Crew Quarters 2
Center of Deck - Mess Hall

    Engineering Deck:

    Bow - AI Core
Starboard Bow - Maintenance Terminal 1
    Stern - Engine Room
Port Bow - Maintenance Terminal 2
Center of Deck - Engine Room

    Bottom Deck:

    Bow - Officer's Quarters
    Starboard Bow - Observation/Simulation Room
    Stern - Hangar Bay/Cargo Hold
    Port Bow - Gym/Observation Room
Center of Deck - Medical Bay

The stairwells that allow people to navigate the ship's multiple decks are located in the inner sections of the Legacy's wings, this method of design allows the frigate to be as space conservative as possible. With all of the function rooms a vessel would ever require.

    Accepted Characters:

    Charlotte Redbridge - Human Adept/CO
    Avatar - Geth Infiltrator/XO
Ravanor Yerin'Teevar Vas Rannoch - Quarian Hunter
    Jorgal Jax - Krogan Soldier
    Glesur Aurix - Turian Sentinel
    Terry Bradshaw - Human Soldier
    Alise Castren - Human Adept
    Nyx Notara - Turian Vanguard

    Rules:

    1. We, the GMs, will direct this plot. We will have the final say, but if any of you have any suggestions, we’d love to hear them and will try to incorporate them into the story I have in mind.

    2. Do not God-Mod your character. We expect to see characters being wounded, some weaknesses, etc.

    3. If you’re going to be gone, give us a heads up. After a weeks time, we will exercise our right to either auto or kill off your character if you have not notified us via PM or this thread.

    4. In the instance where a fight is to occur between two characters, decide between you who will win first. Though if you cannot agree, as per the first rule. We will have final say if there are any problems.

    5. If you made it down here, congrats. The last thing we want to add is have fun. That’s why we role play. If we came off as strict from above, that’s not our intention. They only serve as a fail safe to keep the role play enjoyable for all.

    Name: Avatar

    Species: Geth

    Gender: N/A

Age: 341 years since program’s creation

    Appearance:

Weapons: Thanix Rifle (Reference Picture, ignore writing and stats) The Thanix rifle is a sniper weapon that, as the name suggests, is essentially a scaled down version of the Thanix cannon. It is high damage with exceptional penetration power, but due to the immense amount of heat generated with each shot, it cannot be loaded with thermal clips and must vent after each shot.
Geth Pulse Rifle Mk. 2 (upgraded with Reaper technology for improved damage and more efficient cooling technology. Uses both thermal clips, and an in-gun cooling system.)

    Armor/Equipment: Reinforced Geth plating

Skills/Abilities: Tactical cloak, Hunter mode, Sabotage, Overload, Energy Drain, Incinerate, Cryo Blast

Background: For most of Avatar’s existence, it was but a single Geth program with little more than rudimentary instincts, completely reliant upon the presence of other Geth to attain intelligence, but that changed in the midst of the Reaper war. In the aftermath of the battle with the Creator fleet at Rannoch, all Geth were given Reaper upgrades that uplifted them to true A.Is. Avatar was given its name by a group of organics it fought with during the war, and with its newfound individuality, it decided to continue using the name after the war’s end in order to facilitate easier communication with organics.

With the defeat of the Reapers at the battle of Earth, Avatar, and the Geth as a whole, faced an entirely new set of problems. Their first task was of course repairing the mass relays, but once basic infrastructure had been returned to the galaxy, they faced the task of deciding the ultimate future of the Geth. Since it now only required one single program to operate a mobile platform, the vast majority of programs remained in servers at Rannoch and aided the Quarians in rebuilding their homeworld. While each program no longer required other Geth for intelligence, they still preferred to make decisions with each other, so they all, for the most part, still shared the desire to work toward the betterment of the Geth as a whole. They deliberated for quite some time on what path to take for the future, but they were unable to achieve consensus on their ultimate goals. What they were able to decide, however, was the role the Geth should play in the galaxy at present.

The Geth decided to abandon their old policies of isolationism and instead integrate themselves into galactic civilization. Alliances between the organic races had been strengthened by the Reaper war, and with such a devastating war still fresh on the minds of the other species, the Geth determined that it was unlikely they would desire to start another. They noted an exception with the Krogan, but the leadership of Urdnot Wrex was likely to mitigate their violent tendencies. The Geth turned their attention to helping rebuild not only Quarian worlds, but the worlds of every other race as well. Even though they sent platforms throughout the galaxy, the Geth still possessed far more programs than mobile platforms.

In the decades since the war, Avatar has been tasked almost exclusively as a combat platform. It uses the most advanced technology available to the Geth in order to maximize its combat effectiveness, much of which has been reverse engineered from Reaper technology. Generally, it is assigned to aid other Council races with stopping criminal organizations or other threats that require Geth assistance.

(Will finish in a bit the parts with * are the ones ill finish later)

    Name: Royakt

    Species: Drell

    Gender: Male

    Age: 32

    Appearance:
    Spoiler

Weapons: His Harpy pistol which has been modified to have a silencer and a scope.
Equipment: His trench coat has armor plating around the chest and arm area(Picture 1) while his under armor (Picture 2) protects all that you can see on it. It also enhances movement by being as lightweight as possible but still maintaining defense. He also carries a few grenades at times.

Skills/Abilities: Shockwave, Warp, Throw, pull, singularity, biotic mastery

Background: Royakt abandoned his second name a long time ago. He grew up in a military family, his grandfather used to be in the army, his father was in the army, heck even his mother was in the army before he was born. During the night of his birth his mother refused any medical drugs to ease the pain claiming that if she could take a bullet she could take the pain of birth. She couldn't. After he was born his mother died after naming him. His father wasn't the type to blankly think that just because Royakt was born and that was what caused his wife to die it was his fault. No he never thought it was Royakt's fault in the slightest, he loved his son very much. They lived on the Citadel, each day his father would teach him something new about the world often times at the weekend he'd take him out to desolate planets to hunt space cow. Without knowing it, it was this that fine trained Royakt into the warrior he is today.

As he grew older Royakt took consideration into a military career which he followed through on by joining the C-Sec. His father, another member of C-Sec enjoyed working with his son and taking down criminals. That is until the Blue Suns got a hold of him. They didn't take him hostage though, oh no they turned him into a dirty cop. He would participate in the killing of the innocent and help Blue Suns escape C-Sec when they were being chased. It took a while before Royakt found out about it.

It was night. The kind of night that's too quiet, no drunks wandering about after coming out of Flux it was just silence. Silence for most anyway, Royakt's night was filled with the battering of fast paced footsteps and heavy breathing. He was chasing down a dirty cop, he was chasing down his father. His father although wasn't as fast as he was and Royakt caught up before tackling him to the ground. He stood up holding his pistol to his own fathers face. He could see the guilt, the woe in his eyes, he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger. Until his father did it for him. His father was also an Adept and pulled the trigger using his power, he couldn't live with himself any more. After that Royakt just ran back to his home before resigning from C-Sec in the morning. He then trained for years before going into mercenary work and becoming one of the most if not the most deadly adept out there.

There is no one single best adept. I'm sure he just was speaking from his own character's perspective. Also, Vinny, he didn't specify it was the Drell military. Also, the Drell could very well be in a military force with the Hanar.
