Still interested.
http://roleplayerguild.com/showthrea...75#post8204975 The approach of Niflheim (IC)
A few decade's ago, the travelling merchants and tradesman would have had ballads played of the brightness and profitableness of Midgard's future. Kings and Jarls held control over their lands. Farmers reaped great and bountiful harvest. The dwarfs crafted armors and jewelry of high esteem and quality. Elven forest bloomed, hunting grounds teemed with life. Men prospered, sang, drank, laughed, wed. The world was at peace.
None today can rightly recall clearly those times. A darkness has seeped into the land. Rich harvest at spring have turned to long grueling winters. Beautiful forest full of life have withered to empty treks of cold whispers of ill intent. The elves tend dying lands, war with human Jarls, striving to hold onto barren forest. The dwarfs recede into there silent tomb like mountains, dreading what only can be sensed in the still air. Merchants are attacked by bandits and worse things. Bards sing of tragedy and dark fates. The world has grown cold, dark, and still. There is a air that few want to realize, a air of doom.
In taverns rumors abound of many things.
Some say that Mirkwood has grown dark and dangerous. Fewer speak of a poison that seeps into the land.
Merchants from Karthwasten, a settlement that sits under the shadow of the great Misty Mountains to the north, speak of rumblings in the ground.
Travelers and merchants alike speak of the growing seclusion of the dwarfs. Who become ever more difficult to trade with.
There are paranoid rumors the king has become gravely ill, or perhaps has died already?
Imperial troops have been seen traveling south to Fort Neugrad, why?
Many other dark tidings circulate among traders, and travelers alike.

The Map
Midgard was once a land that propsered. But now the long cold winters have taken there toll.
The King sits on the throne at Aberdeen, the capital. That great city lies to the North-Western area of Midgard.
On the western borders is the mountain chain of Delengrad, within this lies Nidavellir, the great Dwarven city.
To the south, Stillriver, which runs a stretch of the southern border. Fort Neugrad also rest in the south, below the shadow of the Misty Mountains.
In the east is Alfheim. Centuries old home of the Elves. Home of the great Gandar River, beautiful Faran forest, and snowed capped peaks of Alderean mountains.
In the far north lay Mirkwood forest, stretching to the expansive northern ocean.
Far south is a troubled land, and the southern borders of Midgard are watched closely.
This is a small representation of what the area is like. Of course there are many more villages, towns, city's, forts and the whatnot. Just a basis for your imaginations.

Magic
Real magic is a rare thing indeed in these times. Few real Magi live. A few serve at court official's, some prefer the expanses of the wild, and some prefer a quiet life amid others.
Rarer still is for a Magi to show any real power in front of men. Many Jarls dislike the magics, others, especially in the southern lands far from the capitol, have banned magic as paganistic rituals.
Lesser forms of magic can be said, in generous terms, to be more 'common'. Such things as Apothecary, Runes, some special Forging techniques. These forms have been passed down through the generations as family tradition.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notations
Jarls serve as local rulers. All Jarls must pledge allegiance to the King, though some mens allegiance is questionable.
The King rules loosely over the other eight Jarls. Leaving matters as local laws to them. Although, if war were to start, all Jarls are expected to serve with thier army's unquestionably!

Rules, and Character Sheets
I'm looking for dedicated people to role play with. Thank you for showing interest, but, if your not here to stick through good and bad, please leave. I mean no offense. But I want people who are here for the long term.
NO GOD MODING. I will not tolerate it what-so-ever. Your not a 'god of swordsman or magic' Your a mortal.
To the 'Your a mortal' thing. You have emotions, possibly family's. A child? A mother? Character Interaction. Character development. Character Sub-plots. These are immensely welcomed.
This is a High Casual role play. No one liners. Please put thought and emotion into your post. It doesn't have to be a essay. It can be a few sentences. The main thing. It matters. Does it further a conversation? Does it further a plot? Does it reveal a aspect of your character I never saw before? Heck I would take a one liner if it makes me cry!
CS. Character Sheets.
Name.
Description.
What you are currently wearing.
Anything a first impression would give.
Gear that can be seen while travelling.
Pics are welcome! But not necessary. If no pic, please in detail describe your characters looks.
Submitting a CS.
Please put the above CS in the OOC. (Which is this thread)
ATTENTION
TO BE APPROVED You must send what would be your first post to me in a PM. Weather your approved is based on how you comprehend the world, and your writing ability.
If your not approved we can talk about why, I really want all who love this world as much as me to be here. But to many times in the past bad writers, or people who just didn't care about the rules or lore ruined RP's.
Also if you are not approved, please do not take it as me telling you, you are a bad writer. Some style's of writing may simply not fit. Or you may not seem to have a good sense of the world. Please, please, please do not take offense. Any writing is a wonderful thing.
Some races that would be fine.
Different types of Elves
Men
Dwarfs
Khajiit
If you have a race you want to play, just PM me about it. Maybe tell me some plausible back story and if it fits your good to go.

Approved Characters
Negativeapex's Character.
A man of around 30, he stands just a bit taller then the average folk. His hair is ragged and scruffy, a shade of very dirty blonde. His face is prickly (Stubble or short beard) and unkept, marked with age and worry. Yet his eyes almost shine in an unexpectedly pure shade of dark green. Though his appearance is ragged, his eyes show something...something more.
His travelling gear consist of boots going about half way to the knees. Dark brown pants, usually worn tucked into the boots. A leather shirt, and dark green cloak. A leather belt with dagger, old one handed sword (of no remarkable sense) and pouches. He also carries a traveling sling with sleeping mat.

sartorous's Character
Description: Sartorous wears his light auburn hair down to just barely kiss his shoulders. He has very angular and pointed features, giving him high cheek bones and a more elegant look to him, well would if his face were not hidden behind the curtain of his hair, and also if his nose was not slightly crooked from being broken at some point in his life. Sartorous has two different colored eyes; the right one a light golden brown, the left a pale green. A scar runs down his face, starting under his left eye and ending just above his mouth. He has a fair complexion. He's of average height for his age with a slender and well toned frame, which isn't very noticeable under his cloak and armor. He has long nimble fingers trained to work a knife with finesse.
What you are currently wearing: Leather chestguard over a white short-sleeved shirt under a long sleeved shirt that was once a pure white, but has dulled over the years. Leather bracers on each wrist under his sleeves. Plain black pants tucked into black boots reaching halfway up his shins. Leather belt around waist used to hold the sheaths for his dagger and sword and other various pouches used for holding various miscellany. A small quiver full of bolts on the back of his belt. A hooded cloak hanging down around his ankles.
Anything a first impression would give: At first, Sartorous looks as if he's a mercenary or a bandit of some sort. It's mostly due to his appearance. If someone were to actually speak to him, he'd come off friendly and well-spoken.
Gear that can be seen while travelling: A small sleeping roll attached to a medium-sized satchel slung across his back. Two water skins. If cloak moves a certain way, the hilts of his dagger and sword can be seen.

Mysteria's Character
Name: Catrine Neradottir
Description: See pic. Catrine is a human. She is very thin, standing at 5'4 and weighing 100 lbs. She is 19 years old.
What you are currently wearing: She is wearing a heavy brown cloak that ends at the bottom of her fingertips. Underneath she wears men's clothes that look too big for her - A loose dark green tunic, leather belt, and baggy brown trousers tucked into worn leather boots that end mid-calf. Mis matched and disheveled.
Anything a first impression would give: She walks with her head down, hood up, and her hair in her face. Because of this, and her small frame and loose clothes, one often can't tell that she is a female at first! She walks on the side of the road, seeming to want to stay out of people's way. If you catch a glimpse of her eyes, they look large and empty, maybe a little lost. They are difficult to read. She doesn't talk much. If you get her to talk, you can barely hear her.
Gear that can be seen while travelling: Underneath her cloak you can see a dagger hanging from her belt. If you are especially observant, you can see another dagger peeking out of her boot.

Wiccanrose15's Character
Name: Cassandra Monde
Description: Cassandra is young. She looks to be in her late teens with fairly clear skin and long brown hair. She is short not even reaching five feet but her intelligence and womanly figure keep her from being mistaken for a child. She is in good shape with well muscled arms and legs from working at an inn. She has the curves of a woman. Her face is fairly round with nice cheekbones which become more prominent when she smiles. Many people say she has one of the nicest smiles around. She loves to smile and laugh as well as sing. She has the voice of a siren people say. She is healthy from living a fairly good life with enough food and shelter. Her eyes are a deep deep brown with long lashes that cover them. She often has a faraway look on her face and can be heard humming or singing softly to herself as she works.
What you are currently wearing: A white shirt with a high collar, left open. Blue wool stockings and black leather shoes with a silver buckle. A light green underskirt and a light blue overskirt. A brown bodice with a orange lining and light green eyelets. Laced up with matching ribbon. A apron and and brown leather belt which on hangs a leather pouch and a wooden mug as well as a dagger.
Anything a first impression would give: Young, looks quite a bit younger then she actually is. Though if the first time you see her she is singing then you'll most likely guess her to be a bit more mature. She smells like a herb garden or a spice tin and can usually be found grinding up dried herbs or hanging fresh ones up to dry. She is vary pretty but she wouldn't normally be called gorgeous.
Gear that can be seen while travelling: She doesn't really travel.

Ooh, this is based on Norse mythology. I'll stick around, maybe even make a character. I love Norse mythology.
Duct Tape and Bullets Anthro zombie apocalypse RP. Always open!
Grand Journey: Tales of Adventure A reboot of another RP, done in memory of the GM, who was shot and killed on April 13th, 2013.
Starship Troopers: The Bug War An RP focusing on a Mobile Infantry outfit during the Bug War, set in the version of the Starship Troopers setting presented by Heinlein himself in the novel.
Transformers: The Red Storm's Rage Not mine, but it really needs people.

Admit it, ever since you saw the Beholder, you wanted to fight it.
And tame it.
I was thinking of orcs more of LoTR style. Evil, not exactly mindless, but certainly not civilized.
http://www.viking-mythology.com/theNineWorlds.html <--Basing most of my Norse mythology from here. And inspirations come from LoTR and Skyrim video games.
So to answer your question. Not really no.

I was thinking of using this for a character image, would that be possible?
I also had plans of him being the war chief of a clan of orcs. It would be rather big, certanly not the entire population or orcs big, but enough to impress.

I'm thinking playable races more along the lines of mainly humans. A few Dwarfs, elves, other "Good" races probably. But like I said, I am open to suggestions and still figuring out the world. But Orcs are probably a no go. (Just keep a eye on the thread)
I'm sill in. So to get things straight, we should post an appearance in this thread and send further background to you?
I was thinking along the lines of sending me a Character sheet comprised of a 1. Picture if you got one. 2. Description of your character. 3. Clothing style's you wear, IE Heavy armor/ Light Armor. Common equipment. Nothing to intrusive, but a basic feel of your character. A "First Impression" if you will of your character. And then, what would be your opening post into the roleplay. All by PM.
This is what I am leaning towards. But like I said always open to suggestions.
To be honest, I'd rather just make a sheet here in the OOC.
