Titles Are My Bane

> I am most comfortable with, and thus much prefer, playing males. I can role-play with other male characters, so long as it doesn't involve a great deal of romance. Affection could be shown between the two, but I don't really want to go in-depth with an intimate relationship. Of course, with that said, I should probably include my stand with female characters. I am more open to romance with them, but I don't want it to be the primary priority of the role-play.

> I don't have a minimum requirement for post length, but I most definitely want something that I can work with. If, for whatever reason, the role-play devolves into simple back-and-forth one-liners, it would be nice to bring it back to descriptions and actions as soon as possible. I'll probably post as much as you, unless you go berserk and flaunt your High-Advanced writing skills.

The Assassin and Templar orders both share the same goal: world peace. How they wish to achieve this is where they disagree, as you should know. The leaders of the two groups are the radicals, the extremists, but what of the common followers? They strongly agree with the principles of their respective order, but usually dare not go to such heights. One cannot doubt their sincerity, though. Our role-play will revolve around the lives of two low-level, simple citizens of Italy, Constantinople, Damascus, or which ever location you so desire.

The Assassin, to prove his/her worth, is sent on his/her first mission: to quiet a certain Templar forever. Said Templar is just like him/her, a typical commoner. He/She teaches philosophy and is horrendously outspoken of his/her views on society. He/She has gained a small following among his/her students, and that is something the Assassins definitely do not need. The Templar, however, should not be killed outright, the Assassin higher-up said. He/She is suspected to have knowledge on the Templar plans, and possibly on the whereabouts of a Piece of Eden. The elder orders the Assassin to develop a long-term relationship with the Templar, draw out the information, then dispose of him/her.

The Assassin accepts, approaches the Templar as a student, then gains a foothold into his/her life. A student notices his professor's favoritism for the disguised Assassin, and is infuriated by jealousy. He calls out the professor to his/her peers and students. The Templar Order hears word of this, but takes little heed.

The two's bond grows, whether romantically or not is your choice. The Templar has been spending too much time with the Assassin, and the Templar Order becomes increasingly suspicious. The Assassin Order sees this, and demands that the Assassin end the Templar immediately.

The Assassin and Templar are alone one night, somewhere, but the Assassin hesitates. He/she has spent a lot of time with the Templar, understanding his/her reasons on becoming a Templar, and his/her sincerity to his/her cause. The Assassin reveals himself/herself, and the Templar is startled, but soon regains his/her composure. Of course, it was not that hard for him/her to accept it, knowing the Assassin's standing.

The Assassin leaves the Templar alive, then returns to his/her order, probably with a falsified piece of proof of the Templar's death. Later, somehow, the Templar regains his trust the Templars, and rises through their ranks. He eventually is allowed to see a Piece of Eden, or is given the location of one, entrusted to care for it. The Assassin and Templar meet once again in secret, then decide to take the Piece and hide it, hide it away from the extremists of their orders, hide it from the greedy grips of humanity. They travel to a faraway place to ensure its secrecy, but they could meet trouble along the way.

(Alternate) History

In the modern era, the two Koreas grudgingly unite under intense pressure from the United Nations. Their leaders meet at the demilitarization zone for the first time, and, with lively fronts, declare the beginning of an everlasting age of peace in the Korean peninsula. The United States of America was set to keep its troops stationed in the former Republic of Korea, but withdrew after emphatic opposition from many members of the UN and its own citizens.

As the assigned make-shift assembly began the troublesome task of drafting a constitution, Chinese troops amassed at their border. The government of the People’s Republic of China was greatly angered at the council’s actions, but remained quiet. It viewed the forced Korean union as containment and a threat.

China’s buildup was misconstrued as militarism, and widely criticized. The western countries’ reprimands went unheeded, as they were all unwilling to go to war, believing China would stop after Korea. Certain nations, however, sent aid, but dared not let it be known to the Chinese, lest they place an embargo.

Their invasion into northern Korea went mostly unhindered as the Koreans could not strategically organize their troops. When they finally managed to gather a formidable force, the Chinese had taken a fair portion of the north, to the joy of many Communist Koreans. Soldier x Captive (Could be anyone, ranging from farmer to government worker.)
Soldier x Soldier (If it's S.Korean x N.Korean, there'll still be tension between the two. If it's Korean x Chinese, depends on the Korean's former nationality.)
Soldier x Civilian (Once again, depends on their nationality.)

This one is pretty basic, at least to explain.

South Korea has had enough of the constant threats/implications of war from North Korea, and asks for the full aid of the USA once again. The USA secretly declares war, and uses propaganda to deceive its people and the people of the world. They stage an explosion, then say North Korea has launched a missile at South Korea. The UN Security Council is called to try and end the sudden conflict. China and the USA, both permanent members of the Council, and with the ability to veto any unfavorable proposal, argue. China eventually gives in, not wanting to go on a full-fledged war with the USA and NATO, but gives supplies to North Korea. The Council accepts the US proposal to allow it to help South Korea unite the Korean peninsula as a democratic state, but the other countries don't want anything to do with it. South Korea blitzes the 38th Parallel, causing many casualties on both sides as troops rush into mines, and gain a thin foothold in North Korea. North Korea, mostly alone, counterattacks successfully, but causes a stalemate. This leads to some trench-warfare-esque scenarios, perhaps?

I feel like doing something with a regular policeman and a civilian, or a policeman with policeman. Something set during a riot against the government or whatever, the cops retaliate with violence, arrest a few people among the crowd, then jails them. A cop could be held captive by an angry mob, then dragged away somewhere as a hostage.

I'll repeat this here, 'cause I feel like it: I'm open to any pairing that you have, for any role-play plot. I would prefer it to be along the lines of (alternate) history, or anything relating to conflicts. Modern, medieval, whatever, just not future- I suck at conjuring up technology. I'm fine with fantasy/myths (elves, angels, demons, centaurs, deities, etc.).
