Corruption of Power // Wings of Liberty: A nonconventional time travel roleplay.

"What would you do if you had the opportunity to change the course of history?"

This is the prompt I plan to explore in this roleplay. This idea was explored in the 1980 film The Final Countdown, the manga Zipang, and a novel series by John Birmingham, but was really never fleshed out well in the first two franchises. I'd like to see if this idea has any interest here on RPGuild.

    TL;DR:
-Multinational force goes on happy trip together
-Weird phenomenon throws them back to 1942
    -What do???

    The plot:

In the year 201X, the flames of tension have been stoked in The East. The island conflicts, border incursions, and diplomatic fiascoes by China and Russia never deescalated. Japan formally abolished the restrictions placed upon their military in 1945, and subsequently began arming their helicopter destroyers with carrier-based F-35 warplanes as China readied their military for war. Under the threat of a looming war, a multinational task force consisting of American, European, Japanese, and South Korean vessels gathered South of Hawaii to conduct exercises. As exercises began to start up, a mysterious low-pressure weather system appeared, striking several vessels** with intense lightning...

After recovering from their dazed spell, members of the destroyer USS Ralph Johnson, the new "helicopter destroyer" JDSF Hiei, and the Korean destroyer Sejong The Great wake up in the middle of the sea, with no ships in the sight. They pick up transmissions from Hawaii and the reality dawns upon them that... It is 1942.

What will you? Will you do the moral thing and sit out the entire war? Will you fight for justice and liberty, and side with the allies? Or will you go your respective ways and fight for your respective nations? It's really up to you, but each decision is going to change history as we know it...
I want to let this aspect of the plot flow as our characters make their decisions. Of course, this isn't particularly a war roleplay, but it will definitely have those elements. Inter-personal relations, use of resources, and diplomacy are likely going to be big parts as well.

So what have you guys? Anybody like the concept?

**Ships are not finalized, but they are really irrelevant the core roleplay.

"What is this? A ritual for the evil god?"
    "No. It's an economic analysis..."

I'm great with computers, but printers are evil, and networking is magic. I will try to fix what I can, but I don't know magic, and I'm not evil.
