Lasaria is continent on the planet Sirc, over the years it has grown and prospered in many ways.

From the study of magic starting as early as year 610, and to the invention of steam based technology in year 630 that aides in everyday life.
But they were not always at peace, another continent known as Ceritus envied their knowledge of magic, and claimed war on them with their superior steam weapons, the war raged on for sometime, but ended in the year 783. There has been something of a treaty between the two nations, allowing them to supply one another with knowledge on their respective trades.

But there is a different kind of threat as of late in the world of Sirc, crime may be a problem in some areas, but nothing like this.

In 791 a customary dance is held in the province of Kanse, the largest province on Lasaria, everything was going as expected and the duke and duchess of provinces were going to begin their dance when a mysterious masked man came up to the Duke and shook his hand, the duke fell and was unable to walk, the masked man took his place to dance with the duchess, the duchess was flattered, and humored him assuming it was nothing more than a clever ruse by another province to spice things up, as did everyone else, until the fallen duke spoke up claiming he could no longer stand let alone dance. A few Investigators came and questioned the Duchess and she claimed the man was very polite and very dancer, she jokingly claimed it was as though he had stole the Duke's Rhythm.

Since then he has been referred to as the Rhythm Thief, but since that event there have been reports of other strange thefts, one woman claimed her eyesight was stolen by a masked man, a blacksmith claimed he had his ability to smith metals stolen, as though he had forgotten everything he had learned over twenty years. The strangest and perhaps most gruesome theft was that of a man's identity, when the body was found he had no eyes, nor face for that matter, he couldn't make a sound, his body was just a smooth figure with no features what so ever. No one is even sure who the man was before it was as though they forgot.

Since that event a wanted poster has been placed across the lands and has called upon bounty hunters from far and wide to kill or catch him, however two Detectives in the Lasaria Law agency (LLA) are determined in finding the true identity of the Rhythm thief and bringing him to justice in the new-found laws appointed in the land. They've hired a practitioner of magic to aide them in the search since it is widely believed the Thief is using a form of very powerful magic to do his work.



Magic in the lands of Lasaria, is only nearly two hundred years old but still not much is known about it, in order to "Cast' the most basic of spells an aspiring magister, must study for several years and learn to focus energy within them selves and channel it through runes placed on objects, as the human body cannot handle the strain of direct magic channeling, man Magisters carry staves adorned with Runes burned into them which allows them to bring forth their magic.

Magic can come in the form of elements, commonly fire and ice, and the manipulation of objects in the world, some high level very powerful magic can manipulate the mind of others, but all of them can only be used so often and are often very taxing on the caster.


Steam based technology is young as well but seems to have advanced much more quickly than magic, single fire guns have been around for ages, and some repeaters are in existence as well, and many other firearms, it's also made trains and other small steam engine devices for personal use as well, there are a myriad of other inventions and they grow more and more each day.




So this is the basic premise and information, I'll reveal more as it's needed if need, but feel free to ask Questions.
