"Ja. It appears that not all of those horrible weapons were launched. They went off and it's all spreading this way. It may stop at Germany, but we are taking no chances." He turned to Maria, "To the east, that is where."

The man shrugged, picked up his back, and continued on with the refugees. Konstantin felt uneasy, "What do you think we should do?"

"I advise against heading to Moscow if you're travelling that far east. Just...don't." Maria again felt distraught at the loss of her home, but she had to move on. Survival was crucial now and sticking with this new group could perhaps be key in what was to come. If there were indeed weapons being launched there had to have been somebody behind it, but who? Maria asserted the situation and was loss for answers.

The Anglians. Things started to make slight sense in Maria's head. She remembered the Anglians and how they had been fighting the Germans when Konstantin and the others were captured. A horrifying thought suddenly entered her head. "Konstantin...are the Anglians still around or did they collapse too?" She asked, trying to piece things together in her mind. This situation started to look grim.

"I remember hearing that, after the casualties they took in the battles that we saw, they couldn't possibly mount another European expedition. Perhaps that's why they sent us. Expendable troops." Konstantin said grimly, "I don't know about their state of affairs, though.

He put his arm around her, "What should we do?" He said, looking into her eyes.

Maria frowned, disappointed at the lack of info. At least she had a theory to go off of now. "If the weapons are being launched here I'm afraid the Anglians may be a bigger threat than you think. These refugees mentioned Germany. Who else would be trying to attack there?" She moved in closer to the crowd as Konstantin wrapped his arm around her. "I think dominance may be at play here."

Assuming bombs would continue going off they now had limited options. Going underground seemed desirable but just trying to find a facility willing to take in more refugees was difficult. Unless that's where these new people were already going? "Are you headed for the underground or are you off to somewhere else?" She asked to none of them in particular. Any information she could get out of them would be valuable and again she realized just how valuable resourcefulness could be.

"We can't jump to conclusions. Since this is forcing the people of Germany eastward, it would have to be deep in France, and I mean Alsace-Lorraine deep." Konstantin explained, "I heavily doubt the Anglians have the logistics to even get any where near that area, let alone set off ancient French nuclear missiles."

"I suppose you're right. It's just...it made sense in my head." Konstantin did have a point as much as Maria didn't want to admit it. She had figured it all out only to have him reassure her there could be other possibilities. "Ok, who cares? Let's just get out of here. I say we still follow the refugees." She continued, looking off into the distance. As usual it was a barren landscape but these people had hope there was something beyond the horizon.

"I think that's a good idea. We don't have much, so, I suppose we could just follow them?" Konstantin replied kindly. He thought about where they were. They were probably somewhere in Poland, and these people were headed north east, towards the Baltic Republics and Russia. Perhaps they would find safety there, "But, I think we should make a turn to the coast. That might be our safest bet. If this radiation is real, then we might need to get to sea. Fast."

"I'm not sure how safe Russia is." Maria again thought about Moscow and wondered about the rest. Was it also overrun? These refugees were likely heading there so maybe there was some kind of safe haven. "Perhaps." She agreed with Konstantin's suggestion about heading to the coast. Maybe they could even persuade the others.

Maria pointed in the direction she wanted to go and just continued walking, hoping the others would follow. She was at an advantage. She knew her way around this region quite well, even more so than Konstantin despite the fact he had been there for awhile. If she had to take the responsibility of guiding these refugees to safety then she would. She just didn't want anybody harmed by conflict. Humans were ugly when trying to survive and she had learned this the hard way.
